bought today the crafty...
had now my first session after loading battery...

hmmm little bit disapointed for taste... maybe (i hope) because it s new... also didnt make a burn off... but a bit better then the pax not so cooked (popcorn)... but also not nearly as tasty as my enano...

plastic ... plastic lalalala

do you see the airpath...

hope that this used plastic is really safe... i am vapeing because it is healthier... you know maybe they can t 100% say that it is safe... for this amount of money you have to pay i had wished that the materials used would be better (glass, ceramic -> like cera, or metal)
what i want to say maybe today they can t measure or know which toxic this plastic is emitting and which effect it has for your lungs, throat...

I used to think the PAX gave the best flavor of any portable I've tried. After using the Crafty and then coming back to the PAX I discovered that while I like the flavor the first couple of tokes the flavor disappears much faster than the Crafty, get much hotter and toward the end the flavor is just burnt tasting. I don't have the same experience with the Crafty.

In addition to what comes out of the mouthpiece, I think the crafty has the power to cloud men's minds  Hope to find out for myself some day.

i hated the pax from the start because of its taste...
i have to experiment further with the crafty (packing, drawing, temp. and so on) but i have to say until now vapor density is more or less the same as the pax (maybe the pax produces denser clouds) but as i said i have to experiment... (used the crafty two times (2sessions)

tastewise the crafty don t have this burned taste which i hated of the pax... but its also not up to the enano you can t taste all nuances out of your herb in the crafty like in the enano... also in my opinion the enano is more efficient (got one cloud out of the crafty abv in my enano)... i would wish there would be a portable like the enano...

I also put the cooling unit today in boiling water, because it smelled a lot like plastic... hope that the taste will get better now....

Try packing the chamber until it's full as well make sure the flowers are dry and also make sure you pull for at least 10 seconds. You SHOULD BE getting clouds like the videos on here. UR scaring me saying the crafty hits like the pax. The crafty SHOULD be giving almost twice the amount of clouds

Let us know if boiling helps ease the plastiky smell.

I found playing around with various temperatures coaxed different flavors, clouds, etc. I really like how precise the temp control is. I highly recommend playing around with different temps to see if you can get the flavor and clouds you desire.

May I ask what temps you've tried thus far?

i don t own a smart phone (maybe christmas will change this)
and i couldn t ask a friend until now to let me use his phone...
so i only used the factory settings until now...
which temps do you use...

SO AS I STATED MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE CRAFTY IS LITTLE!!!

after boiling the cooling unit i can smell the plastic. it didn t help a lot.. i am a bit disapointed about that... for that price....

OIL - what temps did you use on that video you made where you blew those nice clouds in those nice lighting conditions?

I think they made the crafty in plastic because metal would be heavier and even metal has a taste and also it would get wayyy to hot. Medical grade plastic should not give off any tastes

If you can't change the temps yet try boost mode. I'm sure you will get some fat tasty clouds using boost. Let me know

maybe they could have made the "oven" (the grey thing) out of ceramic maybe which is used in the cera (think that would have a big effect on taste, ok it also would be a bit heavier)... would be interessting to know what is inside this grey plastic and how the oven exactly works...

I've been somewhere between 393 F and 398 F to start and 400 F-410F to finish and that's because each strain varies in terms of flavor, moisture, dryness, etc. I just tried a fresh bowl that totally underwhelmed me in terms of flavor however the cloud was on point and the vapor was nice and cool. Maybe your desktop is just better. All I will say is that this thing IN MY MOST HUMBLEST AND SUBJECTIVE EXPERIENCE  is tops when it comes to portables that I've used (MFLB, Pax and Firefly)

yeahh you are right i am comparing it to my desktop...
and yes it tastes better then the pax... but my cera (which has a great learning curve as drawback and missing discreetness) and my lotus (the first draws, also drawback is here discreetness) taste also better then the crafty... but maybe i have to give the crafty and me more time for our relation... and have to experiment more with it (especially temps.)

by the way i also have heard the firefly is tasting very good (does it taste better then your crafty?)

The plastic is just the outside. The oven is stainless steel which is the same as frying pans and I don't taste metal when cooking and that's at a much higher temp. I think also ceramic WOULDNT heat nearly to a precise temp and quickly as stainless steel. Even the cera ISNT all ceramic. I think stainless is best for flowers besides titanium

Well, intermittently I could coax a great flavor from the Firefly, but like the MFLB it takes finesse and while I liked how fast you could draw it was way to hit and miss for my liking. The Crafty tastes so much better more often and reliably that I surprisingly sold my Firefly. I really thought the Firefly and Pax were the best portables until I met the Crafty. I feel it's a step above. It's not stratospheric level different but certainly an altitude higher! lol

The taste of a brand new vape can come from a variety of sources, such as the oils/residue on the hands/gloves of the guy packaging your device. To automatically assume the source is the decomposition of the materials used to manfacture the device is a bit of a stretch.

The manufacturer of CE-marked goods has verified that the product complies with all applicable EU requirements, such as safety, health, and environmental protection

and the MSDS for the plastic used states
INHALATION: Shapes are not considered an inhalation hazard. No toxic effects are
known to be associated with inhalation of dust from this material.

CHRONIC TOXICITY: Harmless

AUTOIGNITION TEMPERATURE: 595°C (1103°F)

MELTING POINT: 334C (633°F)

Even comparing it to a desktop. All the reviews I read say it is better then most high end desktop units and give just as big of clouds

ok i will use it more... and experiment...
maybe thats the problem...
i will tell you later if my opinions changed.... (after enough experience)
as i said i only had 2 sessions with the crafty so my opinions don t have to be taken to serious...

@jdee but who knows maybe they can t find something unhealthy because of technical limits to measure... (its only a thought of me, i am absolutly no expert)... (here in europe redbull cola had difficulties because of that... they are using coca leaf extracts and at the beginnings it was no problem in germany they couldn t find any traces of coca but after a few years they got more precise measuring instruments (machines) and they could find traces of coca...

Does the crafty have that amazing popcorn taste in the first couple of pulls? I used to love that taste when I vaped sours in the volcano. But after owning it for a while that taste kind of went away. As well as that special bud :-(

Really? Most people complain about that taste that typically indicates when a bowl has been all used up.

Yeah. I've found that most vapes have a learning curve, some more than others, but the difference between rookie status and one who mastered the technique, which can include, temp settings, draw rates, grind, bowl fill, etc, etc, the difference can be pretty dramatic.

Not a BURNT popcorn taste but a buttery heavenly smooth taste. I used to get that in the first few hits of the cano wen I had some nicely cured and flushed sours in there

Your talking about the burnt popcorn taste right? Because to me the pax tastes like absolute shit and plastic and metal.

How many seconds were you actually pulling for? because I know to get big clouds you need a least a 10 to 15 second hit

I do 10-15 seconds a draw and I notice the second draw starts really kicking up robust clouds. It's like the first hit is great but it also seems to draw the vapor genie fully out of the lantern at draw 2.

i meant that the pax tastes like burnt popcorn and that is what i don t like... more or less i am anticipating the bunt popcorn taste with the bad pax taste... maybe you mean something else with the burnt popcorn taste...
and i don t have this taste using the crafty... which i like...
i was experimenting with 5 seconds to 15, 20.sec long draws at the factory setting temp. (starting with the non boost mode and after cloud production stoped i used the factory boost temp.)
i will later try to start with the factory boost mode......
