Anti tamper torx.
I My friend used a regular torx screwdriver (torx #7) to remove the four screws. Easy peasy. The sticker on the bottom won't allow you to remove the two halves and I he didn't want to remove it, so I he just pulled it apart slightly to see under the skirt a little.:brow:

Judging on the size and shape there is no mystery, it's a soldered 3600mha li-io battery. The beauty is in the design, in all the details not horse power

It's only a 2650 mAh capacity battery. JCat took a peak behind the hood earlier in the thread. Here's his post on it.

For those interested ... I decompiled the CRAFTY.apk file and bypassed the if clause that checks the password on entering the diagnostics panel ... so voila! I now have access to the diagnostics panel on my Android-x86 running on my PC connected to my Crafty :)

I'm probably going to keep my crafty, sell my solo and vapexhale cloud and get a sub.. It seems like the crafty has a lot of potential and all this new modding has got me interested as the solo has been modded dry.. the crafty is like a goldmine of potential. Can someone link me the video where the guy mods the mighty to work with hydratubes? XD

Should I use it while it's plugged in? or does that puts lot more stress on the battery?

The Crafty was a hit tonight. Group session with some new and old friends? No problem.

And some first time vaporizers got to experience the Crafty on their maiden voyage.

There were smiles and laughter all around.

It was a good night!

do you guys think the battery inside can be purchased and easy to replace?

yes, if you can handle a torx screwdriver and a soldering iron. :brow:

but why would you so soon ? worst case scenario....the battery will last at least a year I think, and the warranty is for 2 years.....
...and by the time the first batteries start to fail after the warranty ,I'm sure there will be aftermarket battery replacements available....and videos on how to do it.....

group session with crafty? how is that possible? maybe the battery of mine sucks more as others?

i fill the chamber (full, no oilpad), 185 celsius for maybe 3-4 minuten without shutoff and after that boost to 200 celsius for maybe 2-3 minuten without shutoff. empty chamber. i can do that 3 times in a row and after that the battery is empty. all in all around 20-25 minutes i guess.

how long does it work for you?

i really love my crafty, blows like my cano, just battery sucks and i am even with oilpad and herbs on ground afraid to use oil in it.

bought a new 22400 mah ec technology powerbank from amazon, it has 1, 2 and 2.4 A output. i use 2.4. maybe faulty or ripoff if there is no 3600mha inside crafty becouse i can charge crafty 5x with my powerbank if i remember right.

After almost every session or two my Crafty doesn't let me charge it right away. I have to wait like 2 minutes and then it will charge just fine. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

I have the exact same issue.

If you have the app open u will see an 'ok' error message.

Its not great. Have to let the thing cool down after 2/3 sessions so it can charge.

Anyone contacted s&b about it?

Not sure this is correct. I've gotten the 'Ok' message in the app while the Crafty is on and being used. No attempt to charge it whatsoever.

Regarding the Crafty not allowing you to charge when it's very hot, that's by design to protect the battery. It's not good to charge the battery when it's hot, so it doesn't allow you to. Working as intended imo.

Not exactly sure what this post is trying to say. First, there isn't a 3600 mAh battery in the Crafty, it's a 2650 mAh (check my post 9 posts up for the proof). Why would charging your Crafty 5x with a 22000 mAh powerbank show it's faulty?

Regarding number of bowls per charge, it's so highly variable it's hard to compare. There's size of bowl loaded, strength of material loaded (stronger material means more puffs=more battery), time in between hits, size of hits, ambient temp, etc.

That said, I seem to get 3-4 bowls per charge the way I use my Crafty. There are absolutely ways to increase the number of bowls, but it includes altering some of the parameters listed above.

You could be right there.

When you had the OK message was the unit very hot around the battery area?

I'm convinced its an overheat warning.

I think I'll email s&b to clarify.

I can't say I've paid enough attention to when the 'OK' message pops up to give a definitive answer to that. Will try and be more observant of it in the future.

I want to say usually see it after I've had the app open for a while, but that could just be a function of having more time to see a random occurrence. Or, like you surmise, it could be a warning that you can't charge right now due to heat, even if you're not attempting to charge.

Hope you get a response back from S&B, curious as to what their answer will be.

I had one session in on a full battery before we got to the party. We did a second on the battery and we were tethered to the plug the rest of the night.

Nobody cared about that. They were just amazed on what the Crafty could do.

Just wanted to drop in and share some photos of my Crafty experience I posted in the @VaporWarehouse thread (they are an awesome place to get a Crafty outside of S&B from an authorized community friendly retailer). https://imgur.com/a/zZ69X

Highly recommend the Crafty to anyone who's on the fence. Not sure what else much to say... I've been playing with reverse engineering the Android app, and getting way overmedicated because the Crafty is just so damn fun to use. When battery technology gets to the point that we can triple the battery life of this thing it will probably become my one size fits all vape (with a few spaces on my shelf for my favorite form factor, the log).

I have received the Crafty about few days ago, from my lovely wife for my birthday. I never thought she would buy me a vaporizer, and even more..at this price? Really?:hmm:
She hates my habit and I know that very well. So I was very surprised!

While she was ordering the Crafty at my back. I was ordering the AA for my self.

At first I was kinda disappointed, with the external outlook as it's mostly made of plastic...
And worstly it's price, 255 pounds including wear & tear set, with extra cleaning brush set. (I prefer this for brushing my MFLB as well)

From full charge I set it's 1st temperature 187 'C - Boost temperature 200 'C

1st session:
2 min 9 sec to reach 187 'C from cold start
10 min session [Stopwatch used]

2nd session:
2 min 11 sec to reach 187 'C from cold start
10 min session [Stopwatch used]

I reduced it's 1st temperature to 173 'C - increased Boost temperature 210 'C

3rd session:
2 min 7 sec to reach 173 'C from cold start
10 min session [Stopwatch used]

4th session:
2 min 8 sec to reach 173 'C from cold start
Ended during the session [Around 5 min]

Like many others mentioned I started vaping with half chamber with oil pad on top.

However this only gave me 6~7 good hits and unpleasant 2~3 more hits at boost temperature, whereas what I found this morning was that lightly packed full chamber without oil pad at 173 'C gave me very tasty 14~15 hits and 7~8 unbelievably cool extracted hits from boosted 210 'C. I prefer this way as I feel much more medicated for longer period of time compare to the small loaded multiple sessions.

More I use Crafty, the taste is improving after every session.

Apart from it's low capacity battery that only last for 35 min, takes almost 2 min to heat up to optimal temperature and greedy price with made with mostly plastic material, I am very impressed with my Crafty. :buzz:

Anyone settled in on temps they like? I tried max temp last night for my boost and the flavor wasn't so great but we did get a fair bit more vapor that way. Right now I'm sitting at 185C/200C, dont think I want to go beyond 200C mostly based on the flavor.

I'm finding 390-395 F a nice place to start and I'll tap it to 410 for the last 2 tokes. Not pleasant but not nearly as nasty as the PAX at the end. The vapor is sooo much cooler.

Wish list for next app update:

Ability to turn device on and begin heating.

Ability to power device down

Presets-like quick dial where you have 3 temperature presets. Press 1,2 or 3 for preset temps for varying reasons and circumstances.

A variety of skins choices. Not a fan of the blue and orange industrial look.

It has hours of operation tracker but I'd like more information stats like average Vape session duration and other useful information.

Any other ideas out ther?

Well, I don't yet own a Crafty but if I were to dream for the future; a customizable music/visualization screen would be cool to accompany your session rather than having to use a separate app. Like, even just a few simple generic musical genres and visual screens to choose from according to your style and taste. You could set your default to listen to for example a metal mix along with a visual explosion of changing shapes and colors while you vape:cool: Majestic aerial video shots would be cool as well. Or animals, like a bird in flight;)

If it could auto reply to incoming calls/texts during your session with a polite "fuck off", that'd be cool too:nod:
