... He mentioned plastic taste as a drawback... I hope it goes away soon
Totally agree. I was drawing on the cooling unit (brand new from my wear and tear set) and all I could taste was plastic. And no it's not from my tongue touching the mouthpiece, the air has a plastic taste to it. It's not overwhelming, subtle, but was hoping that wouldn't be the case because I hate plastic tastes.... :(.... (so far my only complaint).

But like we've seen with other plastic vapes the taste usually dissipates with time...

It would be cool if in the future they come up with a mostly glass cooling unit or perhaps at the very least a glass mouthpiece (not that this would remedy it much but God I love glass). Something so right about using glass for vaping.

I got a new phone and for some reason it won't connect to my Crafty. The app doesn't allow me to save my serial number.

Were you able to connect to the app with your Crafty? I had a similar problem with my Crafty.

PS. After a bit of a slow start, the S&B customer service really came trough and offered a great service with their warranty. I got a new unit and it seems to work great. I can recommend ordering from them with full confidence.

The new unit seems to be from a newer batch based on the serial number. Another small thing that I noticed was that the new unit had a silica-bag next to the unit but the old one didn't.

Sadly no. My last phone (Xperia Z3 Compact) worked fine with the Crafty and the app but my new phone AND tablet won't connect at all. Both have current Android versions and have Bluetooth 4.0 LE. I can't save the serial number in either's app. I've also tried resetting my Crafty and reinstalling the app, but nothing has helped.

If you are running Android 5.0 lollipop on these new devices that may be the problem. Another user on here was complaining of a similar issue after upgrading his phone to lollipop.

All of the devices I've tried have been Android 4.4.2 or 4.4.4.

Can you connect to Z3 compact now? Ofcourse if you don't have it, forget I asked :/ Have you tried the older version of the app on those new phones?

PS. What firmware does everyone have on their Crafty?

I no longer have that phone. It worked flawlessly with it though. I'm not sure why these devices I'm trying now wouldn't work.

How would I get the older version of the app?

I would ask S&B for the other version. I would send you the file myself, but I deleted the old version once I got my replacement unit :/ It was the one they had on their site at the launch. Or maybe someone on this thread still has the older version.

PS. App shows that my Craftys firmware is v02.04

Perhaps look into the elevape sv, I heard that's a good "on-demand" vape that uses convection. (was lurking that thread before the crafty came out and took my purchase instead).
Although you will need to stir it every 3 draws.
It has 3 temps that can be reprogrammed too.
Otherwise minivap... I think even the firefly can be used in that manner (not sure).

Yeah, I already have a FF, which I like, but I want something a bit more effortless. While the FF extracts faster than, say, a Solo, I still take more draws at a time than I would with my Herbalizer. Crafty/Mighty seems to extract much faster. If I can load .05g (or even less) with the oil pad and finish it in a few draws, that would probably work pretty well for me. I might still get overmedicated taking in .05g at once, depending on how efficient the Crafty is.

I usually get around 25 draws from a fully charged FF battery (maybe 10 seconds per pull on average). That's good for two bowls based on my experience with the FF's extraction rate.

I use my e-pic but be careful the oil pads can come apart if not treated gently. Also, with the Plenty the oil pad will slowly build up residue until it starts to effect function. I imagine the Crafty/Mighty oil pad is the same. Also it really keeps debris out of the cooling unit which is another big plus.

I'm guessing you could soak the pads in ISO and remove the buildup? I've heard of people doing that with Herbalizer pads.

Spending the week with these guys and getting to know them better while I write down my thoughts. So far Mighty is top notch, impressive work! But the lights are distracting. There are some negatives for sure, but minor stuff. So far they're both equally interesting and useful.

Ok so this is the stealthiest best tasting hardest hitting portable? Before I spend all this money lol. I have the inhalater 05 but the taste is not as good as my EVO and has too much conduction going for my taste not to mention it isn't that efficient. That's why I bought my lotus so that I can take just like two big bangers and away I go but that isn't stealthy. I was going to get the firefly but from what I read this isn't as tasty(but really close) but it is just easy as hell to keep pumping vapor(also one reason I love my EVO). I also see a lot of people from over the years that I have been involved in all the other portables that I have purchased lol. Idk I'm rambling maybe I should just head to the bank?

The Crafty is one well thought out slick design that was brought to market ready to go. That can't be said for a lot of other vapes I have tried as I'm sure you have. This one seriously does not disappoint in just about any aspect with the exception of battery life, and even that's not too bad in reality.

The only thing that I can think of that people would hold back on purchasing this vape is probably price. If you can swing the money then it's a no brainer.

Ummm...........being the way I like to vape is just to load a bowl, take two hits and put the loaded bowl away for the next day, and rinse and repeat. A vape that operates like the S&B vapes do may not be the best for people who like to vape as I do as the better option would be a vape that can instantly apply and remove the heat.

So while it may be a no-brainer for some, it isn't a no brainer for me, and that has nothing to do with the price.

This is still definitely possible with the Mighty so I would think it would be similar for the Crafty.

I power up the Mighty and wait for it to reach temperature in my pocket. Once it vibrates, I take it out and after taking a nice draw I power the Mighty back down. I will then take my second large hit which serves a dual purpose of cooling down the chamber.

This has been my method lately for hitting the Mighty when out in public and flavor is still there for when I am ready to take my next couple hits. Not the same as completely removing from the heat source but still a very convenient way to take a couple hits every so often when I want them.

While its not instant heat, couldn't you just sprinkle in enough bud for one or 2 hits and put the oil pad on top? Take your hits and then toss it?

That's what I've been doing today. Not bad at all.

I can see on the crafty are some screws so it seems possible to change the battery if needed.

I don't see screws on the mighty though.... are there any?
