Crafty/Crafty+ by Storz & Bickel

Dont be so sure. Any good convection device will have a better taste than those hybrids that cook before you hit and while heating up.
Tell me whitch please? I had the Mighty, now I have the Mighty+, I have the Firefly 2+, I have the Ghost - especially the last two pure convection and the badest of all my vapes! Sorry but I don't like pure convection, I have a normal lung. That means? What goes in first, goes in the deepest. One of the problems of pure convection ... You will inhale some air first by every draw before the material is heated up correctly and this air goes the deepest. And no, none of my other vapes can compare with the taste of the Solo 2 as long as I use the same amount of material.

I’d have to say that my Tafee Bowle gives me better flavor than my Arizer Solo II

edit: might not be the right forum page for the comparison, my post can be remove if needed.

Just took a look at the Tafee Bowle, interresting, but I like to set an exact temperature. Not possible with this device, but for me absolut important.

Each vape has different methods for successful use. Mighty, other S&B's and most conduction vapes in general require less finesse on the draw than convection vapes do.
The several convection vapes I have each require that extra "empty air" draw at the beginning of a hit. The technique calls for some 'cigar puffs' that you don't inhale, to get the hot air moving past the material, heat it and create vapor more or less on-demand (the exception is if sharing, after first hit). After a couple of cigar puffs, you begin drawing in earnest and that is first-in/deepest.

The original question was about taste comparison. I have Mighty and have had Crafty's and a Pax and I feel the taste is superior in any/all of the 5 convection vapes I have owned*. I believe there are others as good or better than mine; I follow lots of those threads.
But this is not a vape comparison thread, it is supposed to be specific to use of Mighty. You can ask in Ask FC any questions about comparisons, etc.

Does a Crafty+ hit harder than an original Mighty?

I am looking at the Mighty and the Crafty+. At a similar price, which would you choose?

Thanks

There is a possibility of it giving slightly stronger effects, but tasting very slightly different in the second half of the sessions. Maybe a little more roasted tasting but I adjusted quickly to the new style heat.
But with the two batteries powering that Mighty heater it might be hard to judge the difference in hardest hitting and ability to keep up, not sure.
There should be a little more airflow on the newer models too.

I think if you need a good number of sessions in the battery away from home, back to back sessions, or the ability to run from a power plug, the Mighty might be best.
But if the small, palm-friendly size, ability to put in a small smell proof case, USB compatibility, or extra 1 year warranty sound important then the Crafty+ is better.
I'd almost always be inclined to go for the newer models for the improved housing material that's supposed to crack less or not at all. Not sure if you'll have ceramic coated oven in that model or if it interests you.
(The latest ceramic coated oven, USB-C charge enabled Crafty+ has no passthrough whatsoever, first model Crafty+ has a basic passthrough if you are stuck like that of many other portables, OG Mighty passthrough was a better system than all Craftys, and many other portables)
And imo the Crafty size is great for things such as (like Troy says for his Mighty) driving your golf cart etc
Both are similarly good though.
Good luck with the purchase I'm sure you'll enjoy either one and happy hols!

After a bit of research, I found that the Crafty+ doesn't have pass-through charging. At least with pass-through charging, the device can be used when the battery is dead.

The Mighty has a proprietary charger. The Mighty+ of course is the newest, but there is a big price difference.

What is interesting me is the hybrid oven. I am interested in trying one.

To clarify, the og Mighty charger is not proprietary, you can find items of identical spec and use them.
Granted, it is nowhere near as common as usb...

I can't comp Mighty v. Crafty+ (I have owned Craftys) but I think hit strength on all of these is in a close comparative range. For all other comp reasons, I would go with Mighty (and I did, I replaced mine with same just this year).
It is more robust in every way.
It uses a larger cooling unit.
I personally prefer the on board screen and controls to reliance on an app in phone.
Crafty is little brother to Mighty, that about sums it up.

I dont really know why you want to change the temperatures all the time? Once you set it up with the app, you can just use all three preset temps with clicking the button. It would be a pain in the ass to have the app running all the time.
Btw guys- what are your experiences with glass and the crafty? I get some very strong hits If i start at 210 C with a Matrix sidecar, but i think its still a long shot to a desktop heavy Like a flowerpot.

I mostly agree, until the “onboard” screen fails and you’re left with nothing to rely on.
My Mighty experience has not included any screen failures. (4+yrs on the first one, now on my second Mighty).
I switched to Mighty's after going through four Crafty's in 2 years)
I dont really know why you want to change the temperatures all the time?
I suppose that's why you have a Crafty and I have a Mighty. And as I said, I don't want to need a phone in the equation at all, shouldn't be difficult to understand.

Sorry to make this into a comparison thread, I mainly posted to correct the remark about a proprietary charger.

Some of the older website marketing for Crafty mentioned it being a great "companion", and it has always probably been a good idea to think of the Crafty as a companion, either to other workhorse type vapes, maybe a Mighty or Volcano, or a companion to you in your pocket on a nice walk.
FC always advised me to get a Mighty first, i did have less other vapes to share the work back then too though.
It was normally only when people (like me!) wished and hoped for all the good points and performance of a Mighty, or a desktop, in something the size and form of a Crafty, that their expectations were unmet or they were left slightly disappointed.
The Crafty+ has since maybe very slightly adjusted these guidelines, depending on the user, as it offers a bit more but if you want to use it quite often, the Mighty is normally always best for that.
As good as the Mighty+ is, there are still times when I need to/should take Crafty+ to look smaller in my hand or to fit in a smaller space, also I only have the Ryot smell proof pouch for that size!
The Mighty (+) would also be the better of the two for visiting a weed-friendly city for example. With plenty battery power, decent pass through charging and quick, or quicker, charging.

I also never had a Mighty screen failure in 4+ years of Mighty use (never had a Volcano Digit/Hybrid screen failure either).
Since shifting to Crafty+ a while back, and now Mighty+ too, I have adopted their standard three temperature button clicking booster system. I probably never used to use Mighty adjust buttons much personally only for experiments, but I understand if someone would want that.
The lack of bluetooth and an app in Mighty (and +) also means it does not track or show the total hours of use logged, which can be a good thing too maybe?!

I think it's a good idea to try this Hybrid oven system, I'm still hooked since I tried it many years ago!
If you're a bargain hunter like me, a Mighty+ in the plan could involve waiting till 4/20 for the first proper discounts on that vape since the pre-order offer that I got.
