Hey guys, i bought 4 new Thermal fuses, after the first time, my crafty showed me Yellow/red light.

Now i changed the battery, everything worked perfectly fine, the new battery is awesome.

However my Thermal fuses all blow after 4-5 Seshs... Now, i will take photos of the whole inside tmrw (im at hospital right now), but if any of you have any suggestions, i'd appreciate that a lot. :)
I opened it, and a part of the Crafty wire fall off, and the end of the thermal fuse it brownish (kinda burnt...) Maybe i put it to close to the heat :o ? I'll try my last one now, and ordered a couple new ones...
I even used 2 thermal fuses, which should be able to handle 192 C / 378 F, but both blew as well (maybe in 5-6 Seshs).

Regards

Hi guys. My Crafty died with red/blue flashes.
No yellow so that it could be decided by replacing thermal fuze.
Unfortunately 2 years and 1 change have passed, and S&B are telling they only can make me a discount 100$ for a new device in echange for mine. I'm actually thinking about Mighty, but meaby there's any chance fixing my Crafty?
It just flashes red and blue in any cases, even if charge is inserted and not heating at all.
Any advice?

Hey Arvias, check the Battery Temp Sensor out (Attached at the outisde of your batter, the small black pin).
Red/blue light means:
"Battery temperature is either too high or too low. Allow the hot Vaporizer to cool down or the cold Vaporizer to warm up."
You could ask the guy, who sells Batterypacks, where he gets the Battery sensors from, if you replace it, it might work. But just my guess

I thought that the "battery temp. sensor" was the same thing as the thermal fuse, no?

no, the temp sensor is a small black pin at the end of a cable, touching the battery.
the thermal fuse is a shiny metal round cylinder connected to the main board.
(check the photos a few pages back.)

74hrs in 28mths and my units failed. :( S&B wont do anything other than a 30euro duscount off a new unit. Very disappointed. Tried to replace the battery but no change. Unit turns on, flashes a yellow light for one flash, then couple of red then switches off. When plugged in, the app thought it was fully charged and now just says unit is faulty return to S&B. Who will try and sell you another one for pretty much what you paid for this one. Tosh.

I think it's the thermal fuse.

More than 74hrs. At least 150 I'd say. More to the point, when you buy a BMW you expect service and quality. If i wanted a vape that was essentially disposable i'd have spent $100.

My God! Do I love Storz & Bickel! Back in the spring my Crafty, purchased four months earlier, began to stop staying connected on Bluetooth. It happened sporadically, so I could still use the app to set the temp and boost, but it became impossible to change settings on the fly. I was out of the country all summer, and so didn't deal with it. Got home and because it wasn't the end of the world and this isn't my only vape, I procrastinated. Then last week I was using it with friends and grew frustrated when I couldn't get connected. It had 70+ hours on it and was taking longer to heat up. I emailed S-B about the BT problem, got an RMA and sent it to Cali. They turned it around in one day but didn't tell me what was going on, other than that they had mailed it back. Well the Fedex was just here. The package seemed heavier than I expected. They sent me a brand new 20% more Crafty. Wow.

I've got other vapes that heat up faster--Firefly 2 and Fury 2--taste better FF2, or give bigger hits VapCap. There are times I get frustrated with how long the Crafty takes to heat up. But I still use it almost daily because no native vape I've ever used gives the combo of giant hits and cooled off vapor, all without the inconvenience--and stigma--of using a butane torch.

So I came into this thread to ask some questions about the crafty and now I'm scared about getting one at all...

Are the battery etc issues on the last few pages still an issue or are current models ok? I will be using this thing around 30 minutes a day... does that even matter, could it randomly die within a week even with minimal use, if I'm unlucky?

Also with the app, I know you can pick preset temps to work on the vape itself, but can you just use the app to pick a temperature from across the whole range, whenever you want?

I'd go for the mighty in a second if it wasn't so big (I like having controls on the vape itself)... but if the Crafty is going to just die on me (and the Mighty won't)... I dunno. It is the perfect size but I'd really like it to last...

I haven’t had any issues with my Crafty. For your expected daily use, I think the battery is fine. I prefer its size to the Mighty, but many here prefer the Mighty over the Crafty.

If on the fence, get the Fury2. Similar to the Crafty, easier maintenance, and MUCH less expensive. Plus great cs!

Enjoy the ride while you're on it.
I've been a vape geek for the last 10 years and of all my portable vapes*, i still feel the Crafty is the best one. I really wish it had a replaceable battery, but for my daily usage (1 to 2 sessions a night) the battery is fine. It's those moments when you forgot to charge it after use where that replaceable battery wish comes up :-)

I recently picked up a XVAPE Fog and find that it's currently the best bang for the buck, but the vape quality, cleaning and overall experience is better on the Crafty.

Customer support is also excellent at S&B (Crafty manufacturer) and they usually replace defect units within the warranty.

CGC has a lot of cash, it's a good move.
Maybe we see a new device by them soon?

I wondered if the takeover was related to a recent collaboration between S&B and Tetra bio pharma which was supposed to involve a 4- strain "smokable" pellet form called PPP001, which looks to me like it might slot into the capsules or maybe the bowl of Mighty/Volcano/Medic/Crafty.

Goodbye Grinders and mess, hello big convenience with this!

It appears they were competitors but I did find a google suggestion for -tetra bio pharma canopy growth-

We can maybe expect to see thing like this and hopefully newer even better vapes?!

This is such an interesting development and it seems like there may be investment-worthy companies being discussed here. I have sometimes enjoyed being an 'owner' of companies whose products I use, and I wouldn't mind owning a small part of what is/was/will-be S&B. The potential, as in so many other new things, is both wondrous and worrisome (cheers for those with fibromyalgia, who may be helped the most by this pellet).

The march of Pharma will be inevitable, but I'll still say I'd rather know the farmer than my pharmacist. I've waited a lifetime for the time I can grow my own in peace and that moment is almost here. :leaf: :peace:

Considering a Crafty and have a few questions...

One of the most notable things I've learned reading through this thread is that swapping the stock cell with a sony vt6 (or similar) yields noticeable improvements.

Is the performance of the latest version Crafty (with 20% more capacity) comparable to the improvements of the vt6 mod?

I've also read about the thermal fuse causing problems on these, has that issue been corrected in the latest version, or is that something that is still happening?

I'm on my third Crafty. I abused the first 2 using with friends like a joint, always at the highest temperature. This one I have is out of warranty so I'm babysitting it.
Changing the battery out of a new +20% Crafty is a waste of time and money.
You should do it when you notice a drop in functionality.
If you use it, or abuse it, you will notice it doing less and less bowls with a charge over time. You start with 5 and after use it becomes 4, then 3. Then 2.
Changing battery has to be done after this process has taken place.
Thermal fuse and battery are a problem if you only have this vape and want to achieve group use, connect it with glass and using it 100% of the time at its maximum temperature. Doing so you will need to send it in sooner or later, or mod it yourself when the warranty expires.
If you plan to use it A LOT, get a Mighty or even better a Plenty who doesn't rely on battery and will last you many years.

Extended use at higher temps could be an issue since the max temp is 20 degrees lower than most others. Although I'm normally set under 400f.

My understanding is the VTC6 mod will speed up initial heat up time and the vape runs longer and cooler compared to the stock cell. One member who did the mod noted this performance to be an improvement over when it was brand new (older version).

I'm assuming it's because VTC6 is a high current cell and it can better support the demands of the heating element, with this in mind I'm surprised S&B isn't using a high current cell to begin with. (or are they now?)

The diminishing use time per charge would be due to the cell aging and losing capacity. Installing a higher capacity cell from the get go should result in longer run time. So I suppose there could be an advantage to a VTC6 type mod in a new unit (if that's not already the type of cell S&B is using in the upgraded model) it would be tempting however it wouldn't be worth voiding the warranty.

VTC6/HG2/30Q all are 3000mAh, I'm wondering what the mAh is for the new (20% more) cell?

Also curious what the mAh was on the older version.

You can fill the dosing capsules very easy, by some extra,just drop them in thecrafty and your ready. the crafty has 2 temperatuur settings, first to start of second to finish;
, vibrates when ready
