Definitely not refurbished. Heater and housing are very noticeably brand new. Whether the board or battery inside is refurbished or not I have no idea. I sent them an email asking why it was not upgraded to latest firmware.
Congratulations!
The plot thickens. At least you didn't get the cryptic certificate saying this is your old Crafty ... with a new serial number!
What serial number range is this one?
For better or worse, policy seems to be to keep the warranty people happy with working units, while not necessarily being forthcoming with straight answers about pesky details ("is there any part of this new unit that actually came from my old one")?
Maybe they took a return for, say, broken switch button, a 10 cent part. Open 'er up, new button, new battery, housing and bowl --ship it! What else might explain the 57 hours? and the ver. #? So, there are gonna be some differences, apparently. It seems like, had you been willing to pay for the battery, you'd have certainly gotten a new, boxed piece. So, more accessories would have been the main difference?
I think this was very well played! Glad it's already serving you well.
Only thing I'd have tried with Crafty in for warranty would be an upgrade to a Mighty!
Enjoy! And, yes, thanks for posting.
