@Crafty Vaper Great to hear! What would you say is the quality of the vapor from the Cano and how many hits can you get out of a full Crafty load in the Cano?

I save 5 or 6 Crafty loads, grind it again and fill the sack at highest temp. I get milky vapor clouds. The taste is not that great but...

I actually use the Crafty to revape my desktop vapor poo. I don't get my ABV too dark during my normal sessions, so there are always plenty of dense clouds to be had by the Crafty at max temp (through water of course). I only do this right before bed as the effects are similar to Ambien.

That's you, he's coming from combustion, what's hot and irritating to you may be a walk in the park to him and furthermore using a simple piece of silicone and bong make it a non-issue - gigantic thick white bong hit toke. Hold that shit in for 10-15 seconds..... soooo smooth! EFFECTS!

Once again, that's you and not reflective whatsoever on the Crafty not being the "best at cooling the vapor", because in fact - it's the complete opposite, the Crafty is remarkable at cooling the vapor, this is why it has an actual dedicated proprietary Cooling Unit and it works great as has been reported by members quite frequently. It's a definite pro of this vape and the Mighty. What other portable vape do you think cools the vapour better than the Crafty?

I don't think vapor has to be hot when it gets to the lung to work.

Maybe the guy is coming from a bong is to give his lungs a break.

some people NEED HOT vapor to think they are getting "it"!

I am not sure there are better units. I have a crafty because I believe its the best. There are several great portable units, look at the forums for info on them. My experience with it is equally valid and valuable to others as your experience. I have a friend who has a PAX, he uses it on HIGH and works it until the ABV is coffee color. He maximizes it. If I did that I would not be able to breathe. I use my pax on low and it works for me but is not efficient. For me the whole point of using a CRAFTY is to be gentile and easy on my body. The Crafty gives me that option. Yes there are those who prefer HOT vapor it the way they know they are "getting" it.

The crafty's cooling chamber Like the whole crafty has a tendency to warm during the session. As a result the efficiency of the cooling is lost. when you first start up and use the crafty its cool (if it is cool).
I prefer my crafty when its is cool. I find the great taste of great bud goes away when the material gets hot. its supposed to.

I have come out and posted about how I am after FLAVOR and buzz. when the taste is gone I just assume reload. Thats wasteful and I have become much better at getting more out of my great Californian meds.

I do not expect that anybody uses the CRAFTY exactly the way I do. I suspect the same may be true for you too.

All that said...despite the fact that the Crafty has a "cooling chamber" the vapor can still get very warm. certainly hot enough to potentially be irritating to some people.. Not all... some..

Ultimately, there may not be a "better" portable unit on the market. At this moment.
A new vaporizer could easily come to market with a BETTER more efficient cooling system maybe not more efficient but just better!! there is certainly room for improvement in manny areas of the CRAFTY, the software could be more sophisticated, (for example when you vape green crack at a certain temp it rocks so you want to be able so save that strain and temp in an onboard database.
The sky's the limit when it comes to vaporizing. I love that the crafty is basically a medical device. its made in EUROPE ! thats a great reason to buy one instead of the asian crap the market is flooded with.

It's hard to believe that crafty and I have been together for over a year! Flowers cured and fresh, bubble hash, shatter, all works so well and consistant.

Still have the same opinion on it since I bought it. Great vape but expensive and the short battery life. Wouldn't replace the stealth of crafty for mighty because the crafty medicates so incredibly for its size.

Hope everyone's enjoying their winter hand warmers :peace:

Any idea what the "extended" 2 or 3 year warranty means?
In addition credit card companies typically extend manufactures warranties however I have no idea if that would be the case for this type of product. Also if your CC company would extend the warranty how would that look if you needed to use it would you contact your CC company who would then contact S & B or would the CC company just credit your account for the full amount. Hmm...

With these CC claims you typically need to get an "expert letter" that sums up the repair need, cost, etc. In this case it would be S&B, and then I believe the CC company reimburses for the repair. One feature i've never had to take them up on (yet)!

Seems like my S&B sorrows aren't covered under warranty anyway (battery). But having "lifetime" warranty sounds like a great peace of mind.

So ive been through a few bowls now and love this thing, gets me suowr medicated with little effort but i notice the abv is notnearly as dark as say my ascent or indica, even with the temp at 400 and boost to 410

420democrat,
I know it can be hard to believe but abv color/darkness does not always equate to extraction especially when your are referring to "mostly convection" style vaporizers

I'm noticing in 5 bowls I'm still at under .7grams used and every bowl gets me blitzed even at 410 the vapor is super smooth and tasty, I feel like the liquid pad on top of flowers takes away from the flavor when doing small bowls like I have. I have never enjoyed a cape as much as the crafty it's such a perfect fit, stealthy (haven't even noticed it producing odor like my ascent and solo tend to do) very efficency and easy to use with the app it's easy to enjoy every spectrum in the temp range and the way it keeps up no matter how hard you hit, I am blown away and don't see myself picking up other vapes in the collection for a while. I was wondering... does the mighty have a higher max temp? I'm thinking I should find a home/night cape to utilize when the crafty doesn't need to be worked or I'm afraid I'll pick it up 10times out of 10

Mighty has the same 210c max temp, but you'll know that soon because you'll be adding it to your collection next

Try using a screen instead of the pad to keep the material in place, works the same!

How about we make a deal? I go pull the trigger on a Crafty and you Mighty? What say? :brow:

If the other half was on board I totally would, I did get a very nice offer on a used one from a member here but the crafty is enough to have the wife on edge atm... the deal was 2 capes my crafty and an airizer air from the classifieds here but I feel like I would be much happier saving and waiting for a mighty purchase I just can't see anything competing with these except maybe the grasshopper which I want to try. If you want a crafty a few members were offering me lightly used ones for very nice prices ^^ maybe next pay check we Wil talk because I'm already itching for a mighty

On a side note can I use any portable power banks for my crafty or is it better idea to fork up $$ for the s&b one? I don't want to compromise my battery at all

That or sell the indica and ascent to fund one ;) might totally be worth letting them go although I love my ascent ..loved lol

Nice to hear that! How do you use these types ?

Cured herb (bone dry) I grind fine, fill bowl no more than 2/3 up and put oilpad on top to help filter particles from getting into the cooling unit.

For fresh herb, I pack the nuggy in the bowl and vape away some of the steam, then break the nug up once it's brittle enough.

Bubble hash I put a layer on top of ground herb then the oilpad on top.

Shatter I do the same as the bubble hash, or I put it on top of the oilpad with a small amount of herb below the pilpad to soak any possible oil up and keep it from getting down into the heater.

The concentrates really just give you a lot more hits. Stronger effects but I think that's due to the hit count TBH. It won't medicate concentrates like a nail.

(haven't even noticed it producing odor like my ascent and solo tend to do)

It will stink, no doubt, the more reclaim sitting in that cooling unit, and any abv remaining in the bowl will reek out herb smell. I clean my cooling unit when it starts becoming a problem, and by that I mean, when it starts leaking oil out of the mouthpiece. If the unit is cold, it wont smell much, but after a session, don't expect to be that stealth.

I agree with @biohacker, try using a screen in place of the pad. Cut a wedge out of a standard screen so it looks like a pacman. Then "fold" it to pull the edges together. It will make a cone shape. Put it on top of your partial load (point down), and you're good to go!

Well maybe i'll start seeing some PM's! I'm looking for a backup Mighty as well, so maybe even a backup Crafty.

I was told by a respected retailer that the S&B one is just a generic with a Volcano logo on it? I was told I could do better on eBay. I'm looking for one as well.

I have found (i'm OCD) that even after only ONE session, if you open the CU and sniff it, it smells like shit! Multiple CU's make life so much more enjoyable.

I don't cut a wedge, just one simple small 1/4" cut and that seems to do the trick too! It may scratch up the metal sides of the bowl?

Hi fellow AK Vaper. I've had my Crafty for over a year now and never had an issue with low temperatures. I use it outdoors a lot, even when sub zero. The battery drains a bit quicker, but that's expected since the inlet temperature is so low.

I wouldn't recommend leaving it in your car though. Freezing/thawing lithium batteries is pretty bad for them. Just keep it in a pocket or something so it doesn't get below room temperature.

I am new to this forum, been using nothing but quality vaporizers for 5 years. I just ordered my Crafty, I live in AK & it gets below freezing daily for 6-7 months a year. I always have my Arizer solo (now it's the Air) in a Vapecase, in my truck & they both work long enough (even @ sub zero)
to get medicated & not be in extreme pain anymore. The Air makes it easier with replaceable battery that I just keep in my jacket pocket. The battery in the Crafty is my only concern to begin with. Am I going to get a message on my phone saying "battery is to cold" if I leave it in my truck long enough for it to cool down to ambient temp? I am getting concerned that I am going to have buyers remorse due to battery function. Any other cold climate users out there that can calm my concern?

Well my replacement v2.08 Crafty is starting to show it's first sign of problems at 56 hours :(

The vibration only works about a third of the time and when it does it's really weak.

So far the battery life & warm up time still seems good. I'm not going to bother with another warranty return until something more critical starts failing.

Was hoping these 2.08's may have had the previous bugs worked out. Not looking good...

That's such a bummer to hear, i've been nervous thinking about buying the Crafty again, but is there ANY stealthy portable that is even in the same league? The only issue that bothers me is the battery, it just doesn't seem to last. @fumes what is your current warm up time from room temp (20c) to 180c? If the vibration is intermittent and when it works it's weak, that could be the battery, but who knows... I had similar issues with both of my Mighty's.... intermittent and weak but also temps would sometimes not reach desired set temp, but mostly when the batteries were below half.

Maybe i'll just wait another few months and see if anything changes for the better.
