I really like the design of the stir stick, even though I haven't used it yet. I just think it is a smart design to make it double as the cover for the charge port. The Summit has a little plastic plug for its port and the first bit of feedback was it is going to get easily lost. Nice move by S&B getting a stir stick to be out of the way and still double as a cover that won't get easily lost.

Yup, it's the 14mm. It doesn't milk, strange... Cloud is pretty cool so I'm not sure what's up.

Yeah none of these style of bubblers really milk they are just too small/narrow, I have vapefiends budget bubbler and get same results as you, good exhale but whispy in bubbler.

To milk you really need something with a wider body that you can go slow with to give better vapour density.

@stickstones I also never use it as a stirrer (never needed to) but do use it to tamp down and squeeze a little extra in a bowl, have to agree it's a clever little thing even fits inbetween the fins going down the side while charging (I loose things when I put them down)

So in an effort to maintain my Crafty, I visited a local industrial supplier.

I have an extra cooling unit from my original Crafty that needed some restoration.

Soaked in hot alcohol. Do not boil alcohol anywhere near a heating element. Fill your sink up with hot water. Get a mason jar full of alcohol with your parts all sealed up..... Boil a pot of water completely separate. Pour that boiling water into the sink to get your jar pretty fucking hot. Completely safe.

Cuts through that gunk no problem. I only use an old toothbrush occasionally to scrub. If it's maintained routinely, no scrubbing necessary at all.

Storz and Bickel has been great to me, but god damnit this is America and there's a better way.

I'm not going to get financially gouged to purchase the wear and tear kit which contains maybe 4 screens tops.

That things' nothing more than a bunch of high temperature silicone o-rings and stainless steel screens.

Our local Industrial supplier sells both, they sell the screens die cut to whatever diameter you need.

The size of the Crafty screen is a 5/8" 304 stainless steel.

If you want to really maintain the Crafty unit, keep that fussy little o-ring fresh, keep your screens clean. Clean the cooling unit often, or in my case rotate them and maintain them. You paid the big bills for the unit, get the most your portable can offer every time. And yes, it's noticeably better when it's 100% clean.

flip the stirring tool upside down in the same slot while charging....it still fits and it acts as a 90 degree angle to keep the crafty lined up table top :2c:
that's how I prevent loosing mine!

Thanks for all the info! Those diameters were killing my non mathematical ass

my question is...i see you have a elaborate reclaim method, have you tried to just iso soak for 30 minutes (umwarmed) no need to scrub and everything comes off

I have tried both methods and warm or hot ISO works much quicker with less scrubbing in the small hard to get areas of the cooling unit. YMMV

Mine just breaks over time when opening my cu to clean. It's almost as if the cu mold is slightly off. I'm glad you mentioned it @Ricchini I thought it was just me or my cu that was having trouble

still not understanding how the o-rings are breaking and which ones...the o-rings outlasted the mighty and now the crafty

I've iso soaked them multiple times too..i will DEFINETLY buy some 'just incase'
but I haven't used a spare part out the bag yet (true story)

I did loose one of the orange stirring tools though

Thanks for the feedback guys, hope that helps you out.

The metal screens you are going to get are a tad bit more rigid than the standard Storz screens. You can still bend it by hand, work it into place the same way, but these screens are just slightly more rugged so don't be concerned, they work just fine! You might need a nail, or screwdriver to dislodge it from the inner bowl when you decide to clean the screens.

Those little silicone o-rings provide a pretty snug fit.

When you are putting all the pieces to your cooling unit back together, you will have to make sure the two pieces are joined together flushly before your lock the tab in place.

Don't force it! just make sure the pieces are completely pressed together, then you'll be able to lock the tab.

It might take a little getting used to, whatever you do just don't force it.

These silicon o-rings provide a tight seal, and the cooling unit will go back together just fine; but it takes patience, and a calm hand.

Good luck, and happy Crafty.

Just a thought on this, is everyone that has trouble with this putting the o-ring on all the way down?

I'm on my first and it still looks good, if this is the one we are talking about:shrug:

Was yours loose or did you misplace it?
Left it in my friend's basement, then took a couple of long flights home. That's the only drawback, is you have to take it off to charge the crafty and at that point it's easy to misplace. I could call them etc., but as I said I'm not too concerned -- because I will be investing in a maintenance kit at some point.

Good thing my mighty is on its way back! my craftys housing JUST broke from normal use

Storz and Bickel...C'mon son!

Could it be oil leaking out of cooling piece that got hard, crispy and stuck and effectively broke off the plastic? I'm having some remors over how I treat my unit :p

Flip it upside down when charging it

could be, I still have Scooby Doo and the gang investigating the exact cause...

I literally took off the CU and A chunk of plastic came with it

if you want supreme protection, place it in God's vagina...here on earth, they are pretty fragile (imo) worth it! But fragile none the less

If you ever need to send your Crafty in for repair, remember to take your orange pick. It's easy to send it back to Storz, they probably throw them away.

That way you'll have an extra ; ).

Keep the cooling unit too!

Yeah I just didn't that time. I would like to have another but it really makes no functional difference. For myself it was most useful for clearing out any spilled particles that may be lurking around the rim, before attaching the cooling unit. And there's a lot of ways I can do that, including putting my finger over the bowl and blowing on it.

True...I haven't used it as a stir stick yet, either, and don't know if I will.
