Crafty/Crafty+ by Storz & Bickel

Some notes on the Crafty Vapourizer which I purchased from Namaste Vapes.

I had decided to stop smoking tobacco so vaping was the way forward. I really had no idea where to start but checked out a few reviews and then got some advice from the online assistant at Namaste Vapes.

I'm really glad I spent the extra cash and got the Crafty as my friend bought a cheaper model and he notices just how much better the Crafty is.

The one issue I had was that my throat was getting extremely dry. I'm not sure exactly why but it was becoming a bit of an issue. I did a bit more hunting around and found out that a water tool might cool and moisten the vapour.

It was extremely fortunate that as I was digging around I found out through an email that Namaste Vapes were doing a retrofit tool for the mouth piece which fitted onto 14mm water tools.

Again I was completely clueless as to how this worked. So once again I had to do a bit of digging around and managed to get some advice from the online assistant feature.

It was a bit more money again to purchase the Crafty 14mm 3d printed adapter to fit the water tool, but I am so glad I did.

I chill my water in the freezer and I actually find I prefer the water tool to the straw like fitting to inhale. I feel I get a better draw using the water tool despite thinking it might just block up the whole process further.

The adapter fits perfectly and seals well so there has been no issue whatsoever with getting a full draw.

Best of all the problems I was having with a dry throat are now gone.

10 weeks free from tobacco and combustion and all is well.

As you'll see from my spelling i'm British. One day soon we can all spell it vapouriser asx the Queen intended (kidding).

Hope this helps if anyone is having a similar dry throat problem with a Crafty.

Need some help: I bought disinfectant and wonder if it's usable for cleaning crafty? Ingredients: isopropyl alcohol, aqua, benzalkonium chloride, polyaminoprobyl biguanide. This was best I could get in my hands today.. It also has warning sign: Irritating.

Hey guys, I'm trying to decide between a Mighty or the Crafty and was hoping I could get some help. I vape at home for the most part but when I'm out I carry a backpack and often vape with friends. I'm leaning towards the mighty right now since portability isn't a huge deal since I usually have my backpack and the extra battery life would be good! But I was thinking I could grab the backup battery for the crafty and get relatively the same battery life and have the option to take the crafty out by itself if I don't have my backpack... Price between them isn't a big deal I just want whats best... What do you guys think? Help me pick I've read most of both threads and have been going back and forth for weeks! Thanks in advance!

Id say mighty especially if its more for home use. If stealth isnt heavy on your list thats your best bet.

Thats what I was thinking, stealth isn't big but being able to carry it around with me in my pocket occasionally would be a plus...

You can definately fit it in your pocket. Its as long as my note 3. Maybe 2.5 times thicker but it will fit in your pocket as long as you dont wear skinny jeans.

This is convection and conduction. Im no expert but Id expect the temp around the conduction side of this vape to be much lower.

I own a crafty and not a Mighty, however I do read these forums pretty religiously so I feel like I know the Mighty a bit better than the average non-Mighty owning vaporist.

Reading what you said about your situation and needs, the Mighty does sound like the way to go. Accept for one thing I did not hear you address. Where do you actually use it when you are not home? I understand that you can backpack it with ease and all, but when the time comes to actually use it, are you indoors in a private place? Or outdoors where people may see you vaping?

If there is any chance someone will be observing you, even casually, you may prefer the Crafty and battery pack set up over the Mighty. ( It is very easy these days with all the ecig set ups to pass off your exhale as just ecig exhale. ) My logic being that you can nearly completely engulf the Crafty in your hand. Where the Mighty is not so easily covered or disguised because of its size.

Where I live ( MJ is legal to use here but still not publicly. ) I feel pretty confident using outdoors with the Crafty. Even with people fairly close to me, As long as I observe the breeze and do not vape so that I am blowing toward someone, I have never had even a sideways glance from anyone. It moves from your pocket, or backpack, to the cover of your hand easily and naturally. Until you flip the straw its hard to even tell that you are holding a vaping device.



I'm not trying to talk you into the Crafty. Just giving you something to think about as I had not seen this angle talked about by you or the other repliers. For most of what you have described I would recommend the Mighty, just thought I'd see if you had thought about the visibility issue of using the Mighty.

@Weez65 I mentioned stealth but how you elaborated was excellent. Great post. The mighty while not AS big as I imagined I am not comfortable taking him out. Crafty on the other hand much better. Complete stealth is mflb native of my vapes.

So my firmware on the newest unit straight from S&B HQ is 2.06. Compared to my old units this one doesn't require to hold the button for 1 second, more like 0.1 second. It also does charge right after use, compared to 15m cooling period I noticed in the past.

For most of what you have described I would recommend the Mighty, just thought I'd see if you had thought about the visibility issue of using the Mighty.

Ive got a flight box now and I agree only problem is it has to be a short trip or I have to have another battery.... Might have to sell the flight box to get this though... Will be sorely missed if so...

I apologize if my spelling or grammar is off. I recently had to have an arm amputated and that caused a series of strokes the took out the lower other side of my body.

After using narcotics and going to pain clinic the last decade or so and while I was in the hospital for 2 1/2 months recuperating from the amputation and stroke I decided that with the help of my primary care doctor to get off the narcotics once and for all. Or at least for a while...

It was only after my next-door neighbor asked if I tried marijuana for my pain that I realized I no longer had to worry about testing positive at the pain clinic for smoking marijuana. They would cut me out cold turkey if I showed up with marijuana in my urine and on the high doses of oxycodone and fentanyl that I've been on you would get really really sick.

I had a friend drive me to was called a smoke shop here in Anchorage where I purchased a glass bong, metal grinder, and bic lighter. As I toddled off with my walker to the passenger side of the car I was riding in a stranger approached me and held out a crumpled grocery store plastic bag. I could smell the buds from 6 feet away and he said he just wanted me to have this and then left.

The bong didn't work out, it was just too hard to manipulated properly with only one hand. So...

Anyway I decided to indulge myself on my reinvestigation of marijuana after a 20 someone year hiatus and sent off for a crafty vaporizer.

As Mick Jagger might say" I like it! I like it! I like it! Yes I do!

But I sure would like to get a set up that I can handle easily with only one man that incorporates a water pipe.

I saw somewhere 18 mm adapters for the crafty were being manufactured and I saw where someone used a whip from the arizer. He just pulled the glass mouthpiece and stuck the tubing over the crafty mouthpiece and stuck the 90 degree 18mm into the pipes bowl stem.

Any and all ideas hints etc to help reeducate an aging hippie are welcome as well as suggestions on gear and procedures suited for the one armed individual.

Even thought its legal here I can only drool over the online offerings from my birthplace Colorado.

As for temperature, what do people normally do?

1/ Leave it at the pre-set temps; they're fine
2/ Adjust to a different set of temps and leave them there (suggestions?)
3/ Keep their phone out and be constantly adjusting during a session to start at 180c and go up to right before combustion (or some other arbitrary level) bit by bit?

I start at like 175 and keep going up for a full experience, allowing it to last as long as possible.

That's why I love these forums. What is obvious to one, may not be to another and this forum is a great place to idea harvest, and share your own discoveries.

Just today Sticksandstones has me wanting to try a unground bud in my crafty, Tdub has me wanting to try the original screens with a less fine grind, and Churrocaman has me wanting to experiment with my solo pieces.

Also, to those that own EQ's, don't forget the elbows make great water adapters as well.

To guide you around a bit, there's an official welcome to fc thread, and you may feel at home with the rest of the freaks (including yours truly) over at the fuck the parkinson's thread. You've got some great crafty content in your post for sure, but you can introduce yourself to a wider audience in the former thread. In the latter we just basically complain about our various medical ailments and fling poop, in both the literal and figurative sense. As a fellow alaskan that visits anchorage a couple of times a year, I'm so glad you have had such a great experience with the generosity of others, neighborliness is a great part of this state

I got it on amazon 2-3 years ago, this model is no longer being sold but newer is always better with these anyways. I do recommend the brand, just scroll down for some of their current choices.

It's my first Storz and Bickel product. I'm comparing it to a Magic Flight Launch Box, a Pinnacle Pro, and a Vapman. The Crafty and the Vapman are the true winners in my book. Crafty has the best flavor, but it doesn't last forever. I wish it heated up faster but once it warms, it re-heats quickly. It's effective and efficient. It creates a lovely chocolate ABV. What's not to like?

The Crafty crushes the MFLB and the PnP. Vapman and Crafty are different units with equally amazing attributes.

What's not to like?

The battery life. The Crafty is the best portable i've ever used, but like the Firefly and a few others, it simply doesn't do the job with such crummy battery life, especially for $399. The Mighty is perfect for that, but obviously you lose that ultra portability.

If the Crafty had removable batteries, i'd own one again in a heartbeat. I'm assuming that rumour brought up a while ago was just that - a rumour?

Pros: Ease of use. Full extraction. Awsome clouds

Cons: Battery life.
