When testing the volcano are you leaving the herb chamber on or removing it between bag fills?
Because if you leave the thing on the heat source it will cook the herb more and result in darker ABV.
edit.
In my experiments, if I finish a bowl on my Crafty @ 185 (no more vapor) my volcano will still produce vapor from that ABV even at the same temp.
This is absolutely wrong. I can char my bud easily with my LSV and it is 100% convection. Same can be said for all of the 100% convection vapes from 7th Floor.
I dont think that a good convection vap that can make char bud could be considered as a good vap but its my opinion.
Here's a quite a few sesh worth. The black bits are Ash
I have place the same image under different backgrounds black and white to compare the effect
This was taken under halogen light, which I have then adjusted to match the real thing but this is also done under halogen light (my vision that is). Tomorrow I'll take a pic of it again but this time under real outside light to compare ...
Pretty much dismisses every convection vape I've ever owned and loved.
Because you remove the herb chamber inbetween bag fills perhaps?I am very sorry to hear that but what your moral says ? Mine is that char bud equal bad vap..
It's the first thing that i noticed after seeing the crafty's abv is how darker it was compared of my volcano's one. Then i understood that the volcano was very respectfull of my bud because even at 230° Celcius there is no char and to do a such magic operation you need a lot of power that will never get you a small battery that's why they use a little conduction to boost the all thing with the crafty.

Yes it all ends up at max temp but not for long, as soon as the archness comes out cause lately I got caught with two very unpleasant hits, mega harsh on my throat both times through a bubbler. Which is weird cause I've never had this before and abuse he receivedis that at max temp? its definitely a lighter shade of brown than mine.
I received my crafty today to compliment my mighty. Wow is it small to pack such a punch. For it's first use I pumped up the temp to 210 and used my 18mm adapter. It worked just like the mighty which is to say incredible. S&B has definitely cracked the code!
I have the Mighty (and I LOVE it), and would order a Crafty in a sec if it came with 3 good presets for temps. I do not want to deal with using another piece of technology to use it, although I'm sure the ap works pretty well.+1 for the Mighty love. I am also thinking of getting one to use as the main driver and the crafty for the out and about stealth tooter I need to start reading the Mighty thread
Funny that I can push either of them down to the base of the mouthpiece with little effort. I guess the 14mm version doesn't pay attention to the 'stop' inside where the shape changes from oval to circular. It stretches to fit quite easily. Thanks @Stu ! The 14mm version sits about 15mm into the mouthpiece, while the 18mm is around 20mm.
What depth do you think would work better? (Note you can always trim shorter if necessary with a sharp razor blade).
Is there a practical reason that the internal "shape change" / "stop" occurs before the angled "GonG" part starts? Maybe that point can be lowered into the angled section?
Do I need to jerry rig the e mod myself or can I buy one that fits the crafty chamber. I have no idea whst I'm even asking. I'd like some various mouthpiece options for the Crafty and wondered if there was an easy way to replace the plastic stem with a glass piece or must I go replacing the cooling chamber ? While I like the above piece I'm looking for something small that might add a slight cooling effect.

A few questions,
1. What is the easiest, cheapest way to hook this up to a water pipe. As in no modifications needed it just works out of the box
2. how does the vapor production and quality compare to top tier plug in vapes? I've only ever used a MFLB in terms of vaporizers and it never got me high like smoking did? Will the crafty provide me a similar potent high that smoking does
@Ratchett is the cilicone you're using resistant the heat? does such products exist anyway for your kind of use ? cause if it does it be marvelous to clone the E-mod with variable mouth fitting ( 18 F 18 M 14 F 14 M) I'll have one of each pleeeeeeeeeeease
Edit: sorry if this has already been asked but how about in ceramic, porcelain?
