I do not go straight into the concentrate, but rather lay the tips outer edge against a portion (that was 1 gram of shatter in the receptacle) of
the shatter, as I inhale. There is time to move around for more, but it does not take much.
I don't think I could make it combust even if I wanted to.
Lighter hits like I took in the video are more flavorful.
Nails are hard to use.
I know someone that uses a DBV (Da Buddha) with heater cover removed, and dabs off of that skinny element!
More wasteful still!

I also live with diplopia... double vision, paired with an astigmatism.
Same boat it seems.

Only worry is that I do drop things, and that glass looks awful fragile

I admit to using the tool due to bad days. It was a gift from someone long gone, so I do not know the source.
It seems like a head shop piece to me.
Mine is thick... and has those rings that are in the middle, so if I set it down, the tip floats and does not touch the table.

understand.. I like only one piece, no metal tips, and no thin glass.

I looked and they look good. Some of them are costly.
I am still sold on using one piece due to troubles dismantling... and I like them real thick...
I am a breaker also.
I like Borosilicate
I found one that looks good (I swear I would go to a head shop before pulling the trigger on one online)

Try and look for quartz over borosilicate glass, it's much more resilient towards frequent torch heatups.

I hate atomizers also (but I use them). Having a pen or box with atomizer by bed can be pretty handy.

Is that like a "vape pen" they sell at dispensaries with distillates? I've never thought about using those kinds of devices for (what I think of as) "real" concentrates... but maybe that is an option. Nectar collectors, or dabstraws, and whatnot seem a lot more simple and inexpensive, and I'm not afraid of torching on most days!

If my day is that bad (and it happens every once and awhile), I just stick to (a lot of) dry herb and the glass bowl on my DiTanium. I can't always use it to dab, but it can reliably keep me medicated with some good bud. Thank you all for all these "non-traditional" ideas I always love watching videos of people doing live rosin from these beautiful bangers and I think... "I want to do that too! Me too! I'm going to grow, and bubble hash wash, and make live hash rosin, and I'm going to vape it out of a $3,000 rig..."

I think the $15.00 quartz dab straw is looking better by the minute the longer I think about it. I'm going to order one of those or one of the Elev8r straws (if I can get my partner to sign off on the expense lol). They look... elegant and simple. I like it

Not exactly.
if you have a 510 threaded battery (pen style or box style), you can screw on and use a distillate cartridge or a wax atomizer.
the atomizer in the cartridge is built in, and pre-filled with a vaping solution... sometimes on Polyglyceride base (not great for lungs) and sometimes straight with terpenes. (this is good medication, but sometimes costly.)
A wax atomizer can screw onto a 510 battery or box mod., and gets loaded with wax for a few good hits per loading.

I use both.. I keep the pens (and even one with a distillate cartridge) by the bed.
I use the dab straw for purer flavor, and sometimes for larger hits.
I will admit you can get some monster hits though... using a pen!
Those use ceramic or coils for heat...
The metal coils on the huge hits suffer in flavor some.
Glass (borosilicate or quartz) is neutral in flavor, and since it does not get hotter and hotter as a pen does upon longer depression of button..
instead, the glass is cooling as you get your dab, so flavor is sweet!

I'm charging the connector right now. I'm just using a usb port to charge. Never charged a 510 threaded battery so I'm not sure what to use to better or faster charge it. I came across this product from a google search,

Is that something that's needed or helps?. For the price it seems like a no brainer but I have no clue. You have to purchase something with it though since they are "add ons". Edit:Yeah I don't think I need that product I linked after watching some videos. Can't get this thing working. I charged it in a usb port. Light turned green. Took out and screwed on the connector. I pushed the button 2 times to "Preheat" and nothing happens. Edit: Ok I figured it out with a support call. To turn it on you have to tap the button 5 times which isn't in the directions. Wife loves it because it's much easier than any device we have tried. I don't know or am not sure about it because it doesn't give good flavor at all. Maybe it depends on the extract too with some working better or tasting better I should say. Maybe I'll try a vape cart now that I have a battery. Taste is awful compared to a enail. Good because it's easier to get baked. However I miss the taste and will go back to my Mini Nail.

Ok now that I got it working one of the two that I purchased stopped working. When I click it 5 times to turn on it lights up and goes off. If I click and hold to take a draw it blinks 3 or 4 times and goes off and it doesn't even heat up. Oh well. Anyway the taste is terrible, very plastic taste. Much less potent and it seems to "waste" concentrate because it's not nearly as efficient as my enail.

Atomizers suck... I quit searching for 510 when I got a RiO.

I also consider it a waste compared to an enail, it will never take you to that same high with the same amount of material, and IMO no atomizer tastes as good as a clean banger.

Yeah true. I just figured it's so damn cheap I might as well try it and see how it works. At least there customer service is good. They did a video call with me to help me figure out what I was doing wrong and walked me through some things. Out of the two of them my connector did fail and they are shipping me a replacement tomorrow. I purchased two bundles which are the connector and battery. Both batteries still work but one connector is dead.

I have so very many questions regarding concentrates but I guess I'll start with one that pertains to current events.

Does anyone have any advice/experience blasting pre-decarbed flower to BHO for edibles?

I could easily blast and then decarb the BHO after but I think it's a potentially less smelly process (I try to respect my neighbors noses as much as possible) to burn off the terps first in the convection oven in one go.

If I do end up decarbing after I blast (which I might), how long and how hot for 6 grams BHO?

I do 25 minutes at 250 for 14 grams flower but I imagine that's too long, at least for 6 grams BHO.

Well it’s way easier to get a consistent decarb using extracts since you can easily tell when it stops bubbling. With flower you’re more-so winging it. So I would extract first. My decarb time @ 250 is probably closer to an hour as I use a jar with a lid and it takes longer to heatup then doing it with the lid off.
