Just got my 18mm DYD and seasoning it up now...does this only need to be done once, and it's good to go?

As long as their is a good layer on your first attempt, should be good to go.

If you're using cheap reclaim, doing 2-3 dabs certainly makes a better seasoning.
(course depends how big sized the dabs are)

However, I feel like a curvy nail like the DYD would need less total oil to season since the oil won't spill out to the sides like a flat surface during a dab.

I may need to check that out then! Instagram is my go-to place for cool glass and pictures of flowers/concentrates and stuff. its awesome to see a lot of these glass blowers and growers on there posting cool pics! glad you found the facebook for these guys though cause I might need to get one soon haha

Well, I just took my first dabs, ever, with my new, well seasoned, DoYouDab. It was fantastic! The first attempt was just a tad cool and left a little oil at the end. The second was perfect. It was awesome to hear the sizzle and watch the oil evap in the center of the cup. The design of the nail is performing as intended I believe and I am really happy with it. More later. :peace:

Oh and the Rooster Apparatus . . . amazing! Did those dabs and they were perfectly smooth, and this was reclaim. Can't wait to get some nice stuff and try again.

Welcome to the highly concentrated state T Dub!
And yes the rooster aparatus totally modifies the lung bad impression/experience anyone could experience with other percs., it is really a blessing for concentrates and it is IMO what my can does BEST!

I'm new to this whole concentrate thing, is there a way to vape oil out of my bong? Everything I've seen so far seems to be smoking oil rather than vaping it. I understand the whole blow torch titanium nail dealio but it seems like the temperature would produce smoke rather than vapor.
My ghetto rigs involving a stainless steel spoon and my bong yielded burnt flavors I didn't like, so I don't see how a more professional rig with the same basic idea would avoid that.

the Ti Nail will produce vapor!
A very concentrated vapor but still vapor!

As you deposit your oil on the nail there is a heat exchange till youroil reaches its flash point . When that happens your oil will "vaporize" in a mist that you will inhale and that we call vapor! :D
No ashes on the TI or in the water: no combustion: no smoke! It can happen that you "burn" your oil with a too hot Ti nail and as the oil will reach his flash point "too fast" the terpenes & flavonoids are "burnt"= harsher flavor & little caugh maybe! ;-)
Oh and SS leaves a distinctive taste. TI is more inert, but you could also go for glass or quartz too!

-By eye the color of your nail. When it starts glowing red stop, put the globe on wait for the glowing to "leave" then dab!
-If you have an IR gun could help a lot!
-Last but not least, practice & experience are your best tools!

EDIT: I got an IR gun and I checked it again... it reaches the color point I want around 360°c, when I start hitting it, the nail is around 320°c. Hope that helps!

Alright, my lhs has some T4 nails made by a jewler. Supposedly it is medical grade TI, and ol'gov only let's him have so much, I guess he uses scrap for the nails. The manager was saying that some companies that say their stuff is T2, actually isn't, so he trust this stuff more.
The walls are short and the bed is flat for $33. I don't know enough to know if its legit or not... any buddy know about this.

I'm definitely a bit conflicted on the value-priced vs. name brand nails

I bought a $30 TI nail on ebay around a month ago, adjustable. Everytime I use it I can't shake the feeling that its not 100% legit...

If I heat up the nail with nothing on it (pre-seasoning) it gave off an "off smell" :-/
Also, the counterweight (thats removeable) has a little sliver of metal that was peeling off when I got it, like it hadn't been machined 100% right.

When I questioned the ebay seller about the validity of his claim of using "grade 2 titanium" he responded saying he had receipt for the titanium bulk order and that he can show me it, but I didn't bother following up.

Maybe i'm a little :tinfoil: but when you're inhaling off super-heated cheap metals, its hard not to be a bit.
Still, i used it last night without too much concern.

I will add though, if you're buying a >$30 cheap nail on ebay, I feel like the one you linked, where it isnt adjustable, is the superior way to go. If you want adjustable I'd spend good money like the dab n flow.
