CCA Liger banger V3.0

So, they missed some deadlines and now it means they lie about everything? :tinfoil:
brother, I love my V2 Liger and I wish Josh the best.....but there is a VERY long and documented history of CCA710 issuing misleading and erroneous information about product launch and deliveries.

I'm sorry to say that viewing him as not having much credibility is actually a valid and fact supported POV.

did you read the post in the quote that I was replying to, sir? i agree with you that the deadlines and ETAs they give out are not very credible. i actually pointed it out 2-3 posts above the one you quoted

but are missed deadlines a fair premise to assume Josh is lying about all other aspects of his business?

there were a few people going wild here with the tin foil hat theories. like imagining that CCA is trying to scheme everyone with their delays or that they're lying about moving things in-house :tinfoil:

Yes, I read it. I'm not interested in arguing about it. I stand by my statement that for the reasons I listed, as well as on the basis of numerous other instances of CCA710's interaction with customers, its still my opinion that he and CCA710 have little to no credibility.

Have a great day.

I don't have any actual stake in the company, so I have nothing to gain from defending CCA, or Josh. But I started talking to him and became friends with him several years ago. Before the Liger V1 was out, he was selling Ti wrapped quartz bangers called "turtle" bangers. That has evolved to 3 great versions of the Liger, now the air. Why would he flake after his 5th successful product? My sister is still using the V1! it only came in silver 16 mm Ti with a quartz insert...and it was awesome. The V2 and V3 just got better.
So fast forward a few years, Josh just got married, he has a family and is really trying to keep innovating his product. While he may not be the best and schedules and communication, why on earth would you think he would jump ship on the company and industry that he has been giving his blood, sweat, and tears to for years? It wouldn't make sense at all. Someone isn't going to ruin their entire reputation in the industry they are involved in for a couple of thousand bucks in pre-order money. That's just plain preposterous to assume.

Just like V2, V3, and every insert or attachment revision, CCA will probably be late on there time estimate, and just like those past products, if you buy one you will love it. If you are someone that needs their items in a timely manner, only purchase items from CCA that are in stock since we know delays may happen.

I don't think it's good business to miss deadlines, but personally, I do miss them a lot at work. It doesn't mean I don't want my job anymore or that I'm not doing quality work.

My suggestion is to relax, while I am not with the company, I talk to Josh enough to know he is completely legit and still fully committed to CCA710 and it's customers.

That being said, I can't wait for someone to post some pics on the air! I don't even have one yet!

Nice to know a little history @mrbonsai420. I never imagine him bailing on CCA especially after going in-house.

And his track record is just terrible to say the least. Deadlines in manufacturing is seldom ever met on new production as there is always issues along the line. Thats fine and to hope to release it next week and so on, that is nothing to be pissed about. But Nipplegate and how he said at very first the nipple is fine then said he will fix it or swap it. And at that same time, started to received damaged Ligers as new one after another. SMH... thats when i lost confidence.

But then, if you want the new liger, you have a choice of waiting until it comes out or pre-order or not buying at all. He refunded a bunch of people i saw without even asking why or anything.

I dont hate CCA or Josh and do hope he succeeds with CCA. I do think his business practice could use some tweaking but again, its his business and i have a choice of buying or not so i cant be mad at him. Would i sit down and have a Liger sesh with Josh? Fuck yea..

Any pics of those Airs in the wild???

Also,

CCA just did a live video and I managed to snap this pic:

Looks like they opted for using just a regular nut for tightening the coil now...

Can anyone recommend a carb cap which will work on both the 20mm and 30mm banger, which doesn't fall off easily; something which seats into the bucket a bit.

I have been considering a Gordo Scientific bubblecap - does anyone know if the default size on his site fits both the 20mm and 30mm? If the default size doesn't fit both, can anyone recommend a bubble cap diameter which will fit both?

Thank you.

My tracking number is moving.

If you just let the delivery of your product be a surprise, it’s much easier to be a CCA customer. Shouldn’t be that way, but it is.

I'm number 10 but it's seems I am the first to receive the liger air.

The new liger air is actually very very nice. It is much smaller and lighter, it seems like more heat is concentrated on insert and less is transferred away through the titanium. The bucket has a lower profile and works better and the hurricane cap 3.1 and bubble caps. The new convertible joint adapter is pure genius. The vapor path is shorter and more direct. Not only is it lighter than the liger 3.0, it actually hits better.

The unit appears to be very well machined and without any flaws.

Great job Josh, I am really excited to see what comes next from CCA.

No movement on my tracking yet, which turned out to be a good thing in my case! I just got confirmation via email that they are sending me a replacement Obsidian dish with my Air. They're slow and have been shady with some information (not going to contribute to that discussion beyond this), but as we all know they ultimately make a great product, and I now also know first hand that they care about customer/brand loyalty. I do wish their support game was a little stronger in regard to turnover time, as we all do, but I was pleasantly surprised with the response once they got around to it. I have nothing to complain about, and I'm grateful for their willingness to stand by their product in such a way.

Congrats on getting your Air! Using a regular nut for the coil is MUCH better in my opinion. This will be wayyyy easier to apply torque to with a proper wrench/socket then the older iterations.

Seeing the two buckets side by side, I have a feeling my custom Coojo cap will be too deep to use with the Air, unfortunately, but that just opens an opportunity for me to ask him for a nipple-less version!

On the topic of nipples.... I can't help but notice the nipple in the new bucket. How does it compare to the nipple in your 3.0? Does it feel any different to your finger? Any brave souls plan on grinding it down?

Looks great so far! And thanks for sharing these detailed pics for comparison.

But isn't there also a higher version for the AH coil with heat shield? At least there was a CAD drawing of that at CCA!?

I guess there'll soon start a new game of "what's the best carb cap for the Liger Air?"

what temps were you dabbing at before on the fat liger and what temps are you at now on the Air?

I'm not sure, my Kubeone doesn't like my new phone. The same temperature setting feels hotter and more even on the Air. It makes sense as the thinner titanium walls will transfer less energy.
