Any update on the flat coil SIC inserts?
Now that we're on the Clean Machine with these last few posts, anyone got a good trick for getting the Krusties off of the Ti pieces without messing up the anodizing? Specifically, I get a ring of brown crust where my carb cap meets the bucket if I'm not diligent about wiping down the carb cap every few dabs. It's more of a stain so can't scrape it, but ISO does not lift it off. Ideas?
I tried the same method as cleaning the insert (91% iso and a few drops of distilled water) and that did slightly help the brown crust. But I found some of it's just really on hard and I can't even budge it
Doesn't bother me just an annoying small bits here and there above my insert a little
Any of the methods I suggested in my last post will take care of this. I use 70% iso and scrubbing to get most of the carbonized layer off of my sapphire. Steam/autoclave/ultrasonic cleaner if stains get too carbonized and stubborn.I tried the same method as cleaning the insert (91% iso and a few drops of distilled water) and that did slightly help the brown crust. As above, I have suggested several methods guaranteed to make your inserts look like new every time (I have sapphire and SiC and neither has visibly aged a day ).Yeah, same, no function or flavor issues, just looks gross (I'm somewhat of a clean freak :-) )
Possibly, but I never had any success with PBW over iso and the above methods (steam, autoclave and ultrasonic cleaner) each IMO are superior methods. Can the sapphire and SiC inserts be cleaned in PBW from cold?

Sorry I should have phrased that slightly differently. What I mean is the above tricks are what will get your titanium completely clean like newThanks, Herbivore - but my inserts are actually shiny like the crab in Moana, I have lots of tricks for those like you.
It's the Ti components giving me grief. Specifically the top of the big bucket where it hits the carb cap on the 30mm. Same tricks to try? Steam, autoclave, or ultrasonic?
Thanks!

Joined team liger .. Got a new 16mm .. Would have preferred the 20mm but was having issues finding compatible coils for my UK enail.
Actually 16 is totally fine as a daily driver And i seem to get massive hits from tiny dabs with the sic insert so not a problem atm. (I have the quartz also but haven't tried it yet!)
No problems out the box everything machined properly .. Quite surprised people struggling to put these together its pretty simple.
Using a big directional flow cap from spiraleye glass which works fine .. Don't need dirrectional with such a small insert it just pools regardless.
Saw people asking about EU distributers I got mine from patientnumberzero in the uk. I don't think he's a member on here on fc. I know he has more in stock but limited quantities.
Cheers all
The inserts are pretty easy to keep clean, especially the sic. But be aware, Sapphire is prone to thermal shock. If you use any cleaning tech that uses heat and liquid with these error on the side of safe and start cold and go up no higher than 250. It's rare but you will eventually crack it when you misjudge your insert temp. your coil can be at 250 but that sapphire is still sitting at 350 due to it's outstanding thermal properties after you turned it down, and when you drop the water on it, crackle city. Just FYI.
Once the E-nail is at 225°, take your Distilled water dropper & carefully apply 1 drop at a time directly into the insert (Be-careful! It likes to quickly overfill!) {USE Q-TIPS IN CASE OF OVERFLOW}
I Asked patient number zero (uk supplier) about CCA making a sapphire 16 insert? Any idea if that's plausible?
I asked Josh about a 16mm sapphire last week and he said no plans at this time.
My 20mm with SiC is out for delivery today! I should have it, and hopefully up and running, within about 3 hours.Just ordered my 20mm Liger with SiC insert. Very stoked.

What carb cap are you planning on using with it? I skipped over the Storm Cell/Hurricane in favor of the ChadBro TerpTrunk, for now.
I ordered on February 10th late at night (a Friday, in case you're not looking at a calendar) so my first true business day of ordering was probably February 13th. I then got an email on February 21st that my package was on its way. So a pretty quick turnaround, all things considered! I got the Gold color, for what it's worth.I ordered a Storm Cell! I have seen the TerpTrunk though. The wineglass looking one?
I am very new to e-nails (this is my first banger) and so I figured I'd keep it all CCA.
When did you order and how long did it take?
Damn just my luck I get paid and no one has the Terp Trunk in stock.
No worries, I'm digging the Storm more and more as I use it.
I had emailed Josh, but haven't heard back yet about a question I had.
Did he play with a wicking surface? How hard would that be make happen? Could existing inserts be modified?
The only gripe I truly have atm is the fact the oil runs to the sides. I have to take very small dabs and aim for the center of my 30mm if I don't want that to happen. I think these inserts are too smooth.
Really curious about this. I personally want a wicked insert. I feel that's why the Dnail is the better nail.
Those aren't ChadBro TerpTrunks, they're made by @professorglass. It's hard to tell without a reference point for size or proper measurements, but the diameter of the flat part on those looks too small relative the handle/directional airflow piece. So either the flat part is too small to maneuver on the 30mm bangers, or the airflow piece is quite large and not very restrictive; I get the impression a lot of people are seeking maximum restriction for their carb caps.My local glass shop posted a bunch on Instagram the day mine came in. You could try to call them and see what they have.
