Hi
Can't catch a buzz? I can often relate. Thankfully, you are in Canada as am I.
Here is what works for me.
First is getting a good source, at a price that won't break the bank. There are great deals online. Have you ever visited Haute Health?
About a year ago, I discovered dry herb vaping. The buzz is different. I also have a very high tolerance. The simple truth is that the brain can only process so much THC and CBD at one time. The average human reaches a plateau, either falling asleep, maybe getting some naseau, but not much more. It isn't like drinking. At some point, it is easy to just waste money.
For me, there are days where I can consume a massive amount of cannabis, and not feel much. There are other days, I can have a small amount, and my head is spinning. Again personally, cannabis is used instead of benzodiazepines, so recreation should be second to the benefits. I've complained about this to my doctor, and this was his advice.
Stop chasing the dragon. Slow down, relax, and respect the ritual. There is power in ritual. When the 'trippy' feeling comes, enjoy it, but don't chase after it. Enjoy filling the bowl, notice the flower, smell the flower, touch the flower; make note of everything in your mind. Focus on the ritual when stressed. Use the ritual to transition your mind to something else.
I sometimes need to do this a few times a day, just to redirect worry into productive activity. That said, I am human, we live in stressful times, and just like getting stoned. The doctor was right, however. If I stop desperately trying to get stoned, it is a more enjoyable process, and there is a better chance of getting the feeling I desire.
A few months ago, I invested in an SAI Vaporizer. That will get me ripped, but I have wasted a lot of money on shatter in short period of time, and it hasn't done anything for my health. Health gains I made before Christmas, started to fade. When I talked to my doctor, he again reminded me of his advice. Now I am slowing down again, going back to flower, and respecting the ritual. Shatter has its time and place, but for me, there is little ritual. The truth is that even if I don't feel
'trippy', there are other benefits. Slowing down and relaxing, itself can be under rated.
Last, here are a few things that make a difference for me......
- Eat properly. Can't get buzzed on an empty stomach
- Magnesium - cannabis use depletes magnesium
- The brain needs magnesium, it aids cognition and sleep and just makes a difference
- Magnesium relaxes blood vessels, lowers blood pressure, reduces headaches
- Fish oil makes a world of difference for me
- Mental health, physical health, fish oil is good
- Fatty acids are required for trippy feeling and for SSRI's to work
- Eating cannabis, plus flower can wipe me out
- My preference is eating hash
- While I enjoy being buzzed from hash, this often causes headaches, stomach problems, and is very disruptive in many ways
- Enjoy a variety; my preference is to buy flower, hash, kief, shatter, whatever is on sale
- Flower is great ordered in 7g packs as it stays fresh
- Here in Canada we can get some pretty decent stuff for $2-$3/gram; we live in a golden age
- Mandarin oranges or any citrus
- This is how I get vitamin C. Some say citrus can help with a buzz; I'm not sure
- My favourite vapes are conduction vapes
- Arizer Solo II
- Flowermate
- Original Starry v3
We are all different. Try different things.
