Happy Friday to me, the VROD arrived! First impressions are really good! Beautifully machined and clean as a whistle (except the SiC dish which needed a good ISO wipe). I don't know much about machining parts but I'm OCD as hell and everything Cannabis Hardware sent me is flawless. This is a damn good quality device!

I put the temp to 370°C/698°F and let it run for 10 or so minutes to burn off before firing up my first bowl with some Donkey Butter flower and Pink Kush live resin. I immediately turned the temp down after lol, I roasted the bowl brown on top which means it passed my next test, this is a HEAVY HITTER! My temp is now sitting at 340°C/644°F which still kicks my ass. I went back a couple hours later and had another bowl and I'm over the moon with this device. I'm about to go out for thirds and I'm going to really load it up this time to see how much it can kick my ass  .

Back to back to back.
Did some glass bowls, because it’s been a few days I didn’t even touch them.
It’s been like an year I’ve been enjoying the easygoing Ti bowls use and cleaning.

OG Möbius Clear Hollow Matrix

followed by Preston Hanna Bipolar Latticino Waffle Perc Minitube…

and ending with the Stone SGW Waffle Perc Bub by Preston Hanna too.

Stay vaped. Mantente de la mente!!!

Have you heard about the boom on Mizar 5?
I know we all have our opinions on chinese glass but I have to ask.. I'm finally looking at drop downs.. 14mm male to 14mm female. Should I be looking at something more expensive than your run of the mill 10 to 20$ imported drop down?

Usually I am all for supporting US glass artists but for small accessories such as drop downs, I don't think its so critical. I don't find the capped flowerpot head to be so heavy I worry about it breaking the drop down, the main thing I'm concerned with is balance on some of my smaller rigs. I don't use the style of drop down that you posted however, I use this one from TAG https://www.thickassglass.com/colle...ucts/drop-down-adapter?variant=12395289673763

Oh you poor schmuck. I think I remember that feeling. Godspeed and congratulations. Your life is about to improve vastly.

My man..

Thank you! I think it was Bad Dog who originally posted this (not sure) but believe me, I understand what you mean about that quartz staying clean. Seems like it would be a little less noticeable since it's frosted? But yeah, I know man, it's going to bug my ocd more than the sic does... because the quartz is easier to see the residue! The reason why I'm bothering looking into this at all is because I did a quartz dab on my evo and a torch dab with my other rig (first time in over a year since getting my FP Vrod) and the flavor difference is night and day.. especially with the Evo. I'm not sure if the all glass vapor paths have something to do with it or not. That's what I'm really trying to determine because the flavor I get from that sic dish is muted in comparison.

I got an email from CH as I'm sure most of you did with a 20% off that new Sapphire Dish of theirs knocking the price down to 120 from $150. Still to pricey for me and I don't know anything about sapphire in comparison to quartz so I'll wait on that but thanks for that link..

PS.. is it a snug fit with the CV nut? Do they ever offer not 2nd quality? Does the fact it's frosted affect the performance any?
Thanks again!
I got the email too! And yes I’ve spent a fortune on everything Newvape. So yes of course I ordered one. Should arrive today. Can’t wait.

There are almost no upper limits to how much this fantastic vape can kick your ass!
It's in another league! I knew I had high expectations waiting for its arrival but it's met or exceeded them in every way so far :D.

I loaded up 3 different bowls last night with Sunset Sherbert flower as a base and then topped with Papaya Cake, Notorious ZED and GSC live rosin. I also turned the temperature down to 300°C/572°F for my last bowl and the AVB was a little lighter but the extraction was still very thorough and flavour increased. The next 2 days will include a lot of temperature testing and a few weed naps .

@Zangano Cruel
In that first video did you rotate your bowl back and forth to help with extraction? There is zero hot spotting on my flower so I'm good there but I was wondering if I should be rotating my carb cap at all once I drop some rosin in or if I was just over thinking it.

Edit:
I am getting nothing done today haha. I had my first flower only bowl of some Super Skunk from my first grow that's still curing. 300°C/572°F was perfect for fast extraction while not killing my throat at all. With my double perc setup I'm barely feeling these hits and they're massive! I was playing around with the boost temperature and went to 370°C/698°F and holy cow did that make a DARK brown puc of AVB. It's pretty surprising how reactive the temperature from my Auber is granted the proportional band is set to 68 when default should be 120. I'm not sure how much that plays into things but I thought I should mention it as it was the only value that I discovered was different when I was bouncing through some of the menus.

It does help a bit with extraction. I’m guessing while I’m rotating the head on top of the bowl, the holes lines do as well, perhaps evening the convection all over the bowl.
Caps can help with some uneven ABV, but turn ABV darker too. Many factors involved, but rotating the head, it helps, and it’s another technique that I use and I like a lot.
Stay vaped. Mantente de la mente!!!

I only got the darker ring when I first started using the VROD and would do slow flower hits with no carb cap @ like 650-700f. Once I started using the 2 hole V1 VROD carb cap with flower the ring went away and it's much more even. I always have cap/pearls in my VROD dish even if it's just a flower hit.

I'm hitting bowls 3-4 times and fully extracting the flower while adding some concentrate. This vape is a powerhouse!

I really like the cap and how it makes a little swirly noise that lets you know your day is about to get a whole lot better :ko:.

Imagine a cuing lever mechanism like inside a turntable to automatically lower and raise the vrod head similar to a tsunami application for flower.

This would be SICK

Looks cool but probably not profitable. Also not sure I'd want any type of grease in the equation. What about heat expansion as well? The parts would be made to account for it?

One thing that's really surprised me with the VROD is how clean it seems to be staying. I have put through a fair amount of flower plus live rosin and the titanium parts aren't coated in resin like I'd expect them to be. My Elev8r would be filthy by now, or any glass piece for that matter. I don't have much else for titanium parts except my Vortex and it needs to be cleaned more often but also has a minuscule sized airpath by comparison.

Yeah I dunno, I might just consider it as of this point. I'm not usually clumsy with glass but I've had bowls, stems and bangers that have just escaped my grip and shattered in the sink before. It would suck if that was a 40 to 60$ drop down for sure. I'm going to pick up a 10 dollar one now.. If I like using it, I may consider something better later.

I know TI isn't very heavy and I know us FP guys don't leave the head on the bowl, post and joint all day like some e nail users do.

This thing is too harsh on my lungs/throat, lots of coughing, am I doing something wrong? Vaping flower @630 right now

the flowerpot is extremely harsh on my throat as well. I cough very hard and deep after nearly every hit and it irritates my throat really bad. Sometimes I’m good and don’t have any effects but 90% of the time it’s very harsh. Running at 700F or else it takes way to many hits to darken a small load

You can try to cap your hits and reduce temps, add more water, take shorter hits and use strains with lower THC. You can get perfectly cloudy hits at 570F if you cap and wait for some conduction to kick in. Also just inhale and exhale, don't hold the vapor in more than 1 second.

Bad Dog

Yeah I pissed on the rug...... so what

I have to agree with that, hits are still huge but smooth as a baby's behind and richly flavorful and refreshing like the air after the rain!

There's always poor man's temp stepping , set your temp to 666 or higher and start by taking shorter hits and progressively getting longer as you go.

There's two camps in vaping low temp and high temp.Low temp get...
the best flavor
smooth hits that feel more like regular breathing (no tickle)
this one might just be me but I find low temp a more complex high and longer lasting

high temp get.....
more initial and stronger rush
thickest, densest most smoking like throat feels and lung fullness feeling

There's pros and cons to each but to me doing both provides the best of both worlds and since I have two flowerpots I can quickly and easily temp step which has become how I do most of my vaping these days with all of my vapes.
