Does this statement mean some expensive non-garbage ones don’t get hot when heated? Like you heat the bowl and it just shrugs it off like “nah I cost over £20, save your physics for China glass”
Yes I have some bowls that don't get hot to the touch or just luke warm.

A thicker and presumably more expensive bowl would heat up slower so maybe it's something like that?

How many times do you all draw when you use just a normal amount of concentrate with no flower? I can always easily hit 8-12+ times anywhere from 570-650 and still be getting vapor, but when I watch videos people only do it like twice.

I get a lot of hits from concentrates as well. It all depends on how much you load, I've found I'm able to get less wasteful//just as efficient sesh's from smaller packs. If you watch the NV owner guy's videos he loads these tiiiiiiny dabs which vaporize fully in 2 hits.

One more thing that might effect things is what sort of extract you're using. My homies flower rosin doesn't melt as fully/quickly as my other homies bho. The former tends to leave more reclaim, which will continue to put out vapor even after the desirable bits are used up.

Also I dab at 710° on my NV controller/vrod. Still waiting on my XLR coil to use with my MaxVapor controller, heard that reads a bit more accurately and can be used at lower Temps.

Happy flowerpotting!

I want to order a weedeater bundle tonight i think. Can someone tell me if the auber they have is the rdk-300b version one or two? If it's not the newest one id rather shop around for the v2 and order the weedeater parts separately, but it would be way more convenient to just grab the bundle and save some money if it has the right model.

Also, should I bother with the $60 carb cap or try to find something similar elsewhere? I don't really see these kinda of caps for domeless nails anymore just caps for bangers so I haven't been able to find an alternative and wouldn't really know if it would fit anyway.

Can't speak towards the controller version but my homies with the weedeater say the official carb cap is a real game changer in terms of function/vapor production at lower temps. Also iirc it fits the weedeater/vrod, and dcup/tsunami.. and has a removable dabber so if u ever decided to grab one of those it would work with both.

Other thing I'd say is if you can bare to wait till 4/20 you'll probbbbbably get some sort of discount. (no guarantee but jus sayin)

Edit:

Tips for a first time buyer;
I bought my vrod piece by piece. Def feel like the handle and a few parts in the more elaborate kits are unnecessary-- namely the handle, bowl spike etc. Worth looking to see what you feel like you'll need.

Can't speak to this new bowl, but I love the old (ssc v2) glass bowl. Chance to save money buy just buying one of those instead of a shovelhead, if you think you can keep it safe. Shovelhead never breaks obv.

The enclosures that act as a base for your heat post and carb cap are pretty cool. Sorta worth the splurge if you're buying stuff piecemeal, cos.tben you won't have as much clutter on your desk.

I got my vrod about a month ago and my auber was v2!

I'm kind of worried that they'll sell out if I wait until 4/20 to place my order, and I need the auber for my enail now. I'll send them an email and see if they respond.

Do they usually sell out around 4/20? I noticed they just got more glass bowls in after not having them for a few monthes which is why I'm wondering.

I got mine last year around 7/10 and they had stock. Glass bowls were us made on the last batch, so I think their stock was lower at that point. I'd imagine they'll probably have more bowls this time around but I'm totally guessing lol.

They never “sell out” of most items since they’re machining these things in-house. But they do warn that shipping could take a little longer due to sale traffic.

Links:
I recently got a tall 14mm from plusplus, which are now sold out, but the quality is good and it only took about a month to get. I also recently placed an order from popularglass, which are cheaper at ~$25 for 2. They don't offer a mixed 14/18 set, but I wonder if you could message and request that?

edit: here's the tall bowl from plusplus. Depth is about .7" versus .5" on the shovelhead

Hey Snacks,

Really appreciate those links to the 3rd party stuff. Since I can barely find the time to get on here anymore, I prob would have never seen those posted a while back! Got them bookmarked for next time!👍

Oh I did pick up an official 14mm bowl the first day they got them back in stock already. I've been so desperate to try one, I've been checking almost everyday.

Love the added depth in those plusplus bowls/slides too!

In the meantime I've sort of been looking into another Glass rig besides the standard 14mm slit diffuser that NV.. oooops, I mean CH has up there. Something with a bigger can 4 sure. I'll definitely post back here as soon as I get to it!
I recommend you leave that “burnt up” sic dish on high heat for a couple days. Mine looked like crud when I used it for dabbing but after a while of regular use (no dabbing on the dish, just flower) the crud powdered up and then eventually became easily wiped from the surface....eventually.
You're referring to my old v rod. Yeah already did that.. While the SIC looks much better and is probably ok to dab from, I still haven't yet since getting my 2nd Vrod a few months back. Matter of fact I've been so busy moving out of California I haven't even had time to try to sell that old Vrod or my Omnivap and much less find the free time to post here anymore. Soon I hope!

I noticed that too, and what's funny is even after an iso bath of over 24 hours, those Q tips still pick up that black/grey crud your are describing.

just a little update, I ordered Jute (burlap) webbing, and it's all set! the last layer is held together with soft velcro straps, but the bulk of it is held together tightly by zip ties.
update on this solution: it didn't help, because burlap is very rough on the skin so it didn't help fix what I'm beginning to think is eczema. I took off the burlap, and the regular handle is also bad. It gets "hands in your pockets" warm, which is enough to destroy my hand apparently. Will be adding, "do you have eczema?" to my list of questions I ask people before recommending the vape to them.

After trying out a WE and glass bowl since Black Friday , I'm wondering if the titanium bowls would give a little better roasting or effects, and the glass bowls are more about flavor or purity?
It might be the case considering how much energy the thick glass one would absorb and how little it would emit back out compared to titanium.
I probably also would have been happier with how the metal bowls might hold a screen steady while you stir. But i did appreciate the lower initial cost.
Has anybody found different ways to jam a screen steady in these glass bowls? Thanks.

I did graduate to 666F (356C) and pulling hard after trying other ways, but now that I have an S&B capsule secured in the bowl I'm back down to 320C!

I would like some more guidance on a water piece to work well with my 14mm glass bowl, maybe metal bowl in future, and WE head.
Maybe I will post some examples of cheaper ones I've found and brief info as the piece is for this vape.
But I'm sure they will all work and give enough distance for cooling, ease of cleaning being another concern.
Thank you in advance!

I don't really use a desk and have also been eyeing up cheap beaker, straight, and Ehle style bongs.
Any advice you may have, thanks?

These coils are designed so that only the front section should get hot, it's quite possible that your one was constructed incorrectly allowing the wrong part to get warmer than it should and you may be entitled to a replacement. That's what I felt when I saw your burlap images first. Or perhaps your handle is fitted wrong.
I don't have a handle yet and the back part of my coil is hardly even warm, I hope you get to the bottom of what's actually causing your problem, but skin conditions being aggravated by warmth, among other factors, does sound a little familiar.

I can attest for that sidecar design of the "Katalyzer". I've ordered multiple "mobius" style pieces from DH gate, and the functionality is great for flower and concentrates IMO, but people tend to say they are flower pieces. If I take a hit of only flower/concentrate (no twax), I will try and use the mobius sidecar for flower, and lately I've been enjoying a diffusion pump rig for concentrate. I often twax though and just use whatever. Mobius is typically 18mm though, so you would need the adapter. Still worth it.

That sidecar design is also very comfortable IMO. You can get the mouth stem on the right or left depending on what hand you use, and I like how the mouth stem tilts up. I have it on a chest high table and only have to bend slightly to get my mouth on it. It also feels nice in the hand, gripping the body and holding it to take a rip. It's also very stable with the wide base.

I have one just like the honey brands disc as well. It's ok, but they get dirty QUICK. I clean my pieces daily with ISO and a few dabs will clog the disc up so much it's takes noticeably more sucking power to get a rip.

There are threads on FC and other sites that detail reputable DHgate sellers, you can find many cool and vouched for designs on there for $30-$50, and free shipping to USA is about 2 weeks from good sellers right now. Just pay attention to reviews as some people cheap out and the pieces are smaller/thinner.

FP also works better with 18mm and a carb cap IMO.

I caught a few minutes of CH stream last week (never seen one before, only 8 of us watching, felt sorry for them when I had to leave after only 5 minutes, bit lonely). They talked briefly about the glass bowls. They had a 50% failure rate from their supplier for the glass screen version because in fitting it caused distortion of the OD and the head wouldn't fit over, whereas the nipple design doesn't have that problem.
The Dhgate sellers seem to be selling them without a flood of complaints or poor reviews. The way they were saying it, it sounds like they know what they are offering now is half arsed but it will cause less CS issues. Plus Edwin clearly isn't a fan, saying they clog up with a fine grind, and fine grind is the way to best extraction he said. While this is true, he misses the point that most who use the glass bowl accept the very slight downside of having to grind less fine and clean more often. The point is all glass. The shovelhead is for those wanting a dust fine grind and all in one hits.
Said they were still working on it so we shall see what happens but until then it's Dhgate I guess.

That escalated quickly  I take it you gave up on the only one order for a few months:
Lol you got me. Let me clarify. The past 30 days have been me making "one" big "purchase" because my family is tired of having to buy replacement parts for all of my other vapes, and the vale mail ban made getting most of them impossible so I had to switch to a new setup.

Once I'm done doing multiple small purchases as part of the larger "purchase " for new herb and concentrates setups then i have to be done. Thats why I'm giving up my portables and other vapes that have replacement parts that go bad every month and need changes. They already pay for my Marijuana they are just tired of buying coils basically lol.

Is it worth having a flower pot if someone already has a VROD? I'm looking at a flowerpot kit minus the controller (I already have an Auber RDK-300B) and although I rarely use concentrates the extra metal in the VROD for heat soaking seems like a better route? The showerhead sounds even better but I don't see the parts listed on the site.

Or would I be better off with a Weedeater and just adding concentrates on top for the rare times I go that route? I'm growing my own now so I imagine I'll have lots of extra to press in the future.

Can't wait for that glass bowl to arrive.. counting the days.. has anyone received the new ones yet? Thoughts on temp with Vrod?

I gotta admit I tend to vape lower than most here.. always carbed and usually starting at 580F or 600F and usually ending the bowl around 620 or 630.. all depends on the moisture. If anyone has received theirs and has any temp suggestions, please do tell! Thanks!

I'm all kinds of confused by this question. If "hands in your pockets warm" is what it takes to irritate the skin on your hands, then does the same thing happen when you keep your hands in your pockets for too long? Do you get the same reaction when picking up warm pot handles from the stove (it's one of the few similar things I can think of like picking up a warm Flowerpot handle) ?

I'm genuinely curious, no disrespect.

What do you mean by "Is it worth having a flower pot if someone already has a Vrod?".
Your Vrod is a Flowerpot.

I had the weedeater head first and since getting the VROD my weedeater just sits on its stand turned off (looking pretty). I prefer my VROD even for flower partly due to needing about 100f less to get the same results as my weedeater head. Also easier to cap the VROD, which is huge for me as I only use my flowerpots capped.
