I look forward to your findings! Interestingly, your description of concentrate use is the same performance I feel I'm getting at 580f! I wonder if your dabs are that much larger than mine, or some other difference accounts for this. Interesting.
Open question, is there a SiC ball seller that has been used by forum members that ISNT an ebay seller?
I tried an infrared thermometer on my vrod sic dish. With 700 on the controller, highest readings i was getting were 585-590... really up close on this certain angle only.
Getting ready for dab number two with my rotating quartz and sic pearls.
These sic pearls are pretty looking...don't want to damage them! Normally with the quartz ones I've been dumping into a small iso pool after each dab. They've survived three weeks so far (12 total, rotating 4 at a time). But I'm thinking now with the sic, I'll dump them in one of those soft rubber silicone containers, and then after they cool a bit they go into iso pool.
Cheers!
whats best way to keep coil life longer?
i typically turn it on, set it to 700-750, take like 5 puffs, turn it off, sometimes using it up to 20 mins going through multiple bowls
I thought that quartz was more susceptible to thermal shock issues than SiC?
So letting auber 300 auto shutoff is okay too ?
When do you know ur coil is "done"
You're probably right. I'm mainly starting to take greater care because the sic pearls i got are more expensive than the quartz.
So I'm changing the cleaning process slightly since i exchange them after every dab. I've got a bunch of those silicone dab containers that many places give away with orders. They're softer than the little glass ones I've been using, to cushion the fall at least when i dump them in. So one container holding all clean pearls, one to dump hot used ones into, and then another filed with iso to dump the used ones in a after they cool down a little.
Regarding controller and coil, when I'm home and awake it's on. Been like that for over a year and a half.
I also don't find cleaning balls after each dab to really do anything. If you q-tip well enough, the large majority of it comes off. Seems like a ton of work for not that much payoff.
Summer - see page 2 of the supplementary manual on how to access ATO and change the auto-shut off timer.I don't recall seeing instructions for the Auber when I reboxed. If I did, it's misplaced. Went to auber's site & downloaded both instruction pifs, but no instructions within. Googled, nothing. Searched this thread, nothing. NV site, nothing.
Found these instructions on auber thread, but want to confim if 6 times is really 6 times & not seconds as I don't want to fuck up the controller. So please tell me how to enable timered shut off, simply. Thanks!
"- hold knob down for 8 second or till screen changes
-adjust bottom number to 166
-press knob down 6 time till the top says ATO and you see the bottom number in minutes
-once selected time press knob to set time and it will put you back to normal screen
be aware the adjustment screen only stay up for about 5 seconds then automatically goes back tonormal temp screen for safety iguess but make sure you press the knob to set the number and it saves it"
Given this idea was only suggested in late January, the time to market is imho outstanding! Sign me up! Just need the final AM/PM stand with room in a removable tray for both this brush and the debowler spikeAccessories Accessories Accessories!
This turned out pretty nice. What do you guys think? Fits on all the stands.
