Edit: For anyone wondering about how long you can leave the FP on, I had it on all day every day for over a year and the coil’s still fine. The PiD did start having problems when I traveled with it more, and I had to replace the main part, but it’s fixed and the coil’s still good.

While it was down though, I did get the Auber controller, and overall I prefer it, so now I’m mostly using that with the auto-shutoff timer set to a couple of hours.

This next product idea came from a existing customer.

The flowerpot Tamp. I've not had the chance to try it yet. Fits shovelhead bowls.

Looks good, and I’m hoping that’s th existing threaded loading tool in the diagram, but how many of us actually tamp these bowls down? Anyone think it makes a real positive difference with the FlowerPot?

If so, please tell us how you’re using it. If you’re setting the controller to 500 and preheating the bowl with the carb cap on, not many people are likely to stumble on your secrets just by chance.

If you fellas have any suggestions to make the buying process simpler. All suggestions are welcome. The bundles were created just for that reason, to take the guesswork out of it, but I understand not everyone is going to want that.

It is quite difficult because there are so many parts, and as a machine shop, we have to account for every single little part. e.i. Showerhead Headset is made up of three parts. So internally we think three parts. but on the front end, it should be one part.

Ive been breaking my head over this for over a year now. I guess itll always be a work in progress. Although I have to say very proud of the DCup build a bundle set up. I think its the best one we've had yet.

The main problem I see when answering questions here and especially in the Ask FC section is there are a lot of people who aren’t ready to put up $600 for a complete bundle and want just the bare minimum. Maybe not even a stand or handle just to keep within their budget, but others with a little more money do want that so I can’t say “just post a single bare bones setup”.

I’d have to think about it more, but I’d probably put up a really basic Bare Bones WeedEater and a More Convenient version or something that has a basic stand and handle. If you could cover that range plus what you have and organize it in a way that the range of bundles is easy to find and identify, clearly funneling users into the one they can afford or are most likely to love.

I’d have to look st the site again and think about it more to find a good way to do that, and even then since I don’t know the strengths and limitations of the system you’re running it on I’m not sure I’d find the right solution for you...if you guys can’t Nail it down after getting some more feedback here though, ask us again on that aspect!

You wouldn’t want to; you’re doing the right thing. Keeping the flower less packed will create more surface area, which is the idea for maximum vaporization performance.
I would suggest that instead of stirring, dump out the load and grind it into a much finer “powder-like” form, therefore creating even more surface area for those huge clouds we so desperately want.

I've been taking a suggestion from this board to grind my weed, then flip the grinder over and grind the stuff that falls back through the holes (SLX "never sticks" grinder....it sticks a little). That seems to get it sufficiently fine. I agree -- not going to take a hit then dump, regrind, and reload.

I have the BCG(rinder) with a great fine grind so would never have to grind upside-down. I'm of the mind that you should never have to grind upside-down if the grinder is doing it's job properly.

Summer, this is exactly what I meant. Not anymore of a nuisance or time-consuming than simply stirring the bowl. You just cash it out in your hand, grind it up finer with your fingers, then suck it back up into the roasting tube or what have you. Expect to get anywhere from 1-3 nice pulls after doing this.

Maybe something like the dyna builder (Dynavap.com). Present the user with the overall kit and let them customize the required parts where possible (panhead/shovelhead etc) and add the optional parts they want. Certain choices would lock others (NV controller forces NV coil) but in the end it should represent a functional kit.

@bizwaxzion has the right idea and this starts with a decision tree. I'd start with a big whiteboard and when you think you've got every decsion drawn out, take a picture and post it here.

There some valuable input here for sure. I was under the impression that the Build a Bundle was the easier way to just get what you need. We do include the stand as the initial setup because we feel very strongly about safety. But other than that, i feel that initial set up is the bare minimum. Perhaps its not coming across that way?

But i definitely understand the predicament of the newbie visiting for the first time... the flowerpot can seem overwhelming at first glance.. Many potential customers will submit a support ticket with questions and after getting on the phone with them they usually have a much better understanding.

I can check the site later tonight but it won't reflect a newbie or new user navigating for the first time. What I an remember from my early experience is that I would get hung up on what a part was for and whether I needed it, something I think the kits have elegantly resolved. I also had trouble deciding on the shovelhead or...something else that I can't remember the name of; why would I choose one over the other, what are the pros and cons, etc.

Maybe a glossary or overview of the system through an exploded view would be helpful? I actually thought I saw something like this recently, but perhaps even that isn't enough for a potential customer who, in a haze of cannabis, has excitedly loaded up the site but then is overwhelmed and then distracted.

(ok, I hopped on the site just now and it looks really nice, if a bit overwhelming with all the options. love the bundles, but maybe an easy-to-read product comparison page/chart would be good to help guide new customers?)

"The Simple Bundle". (you really don't even need the handle)

- PIC controller
- Weedeater head/nut/diffuser
- 20 mm coil
- basic puck safety stand with one post

When new-to-vaping people see your site, it does look complicated. All those things! Parts! Metal! where does it all go???? I personally like having a clean and uncluttered desk. I don't want three different FP versions with all the attachments bristling at me like a pincushion.

When I look at my Weedeater setup, I see ONLY: the simple puck with the Weedeater on it, the controller next to it, and my bong with the bucket. I don't need or want all the other stuff NV sells. This actually came with the larger base with all the holes, but I bought the simple puck because I like it better. I keep my jar of vaped weed and the stirring tool off to the side with the unvaped weed. It is simple and uncluttered.

My guess is that if you had a super minimal bundle as described above, it would be cheaper and, more importantly, people would understand at a glance how it works and be more likely to buy it.

I think one issue is you have preconfigured bundles as well as the "build-a-bundle"
The build a bundle would probably suffice. The website needs decluttering. Despite all the parts available on the website, this is really one of the simplest vaporizers out there.

IMO there's too many Sku's. And I know we all love the original SH but it seems like the Showerhead is kind of the odd man out in the group. With the WeedEater and Vrod sharing SKUs and the dab dish options for the vrod and Dcup, the Showerhead doesn't have as much appeal in the lineup.

Then you would just have the Weedeater for Flower, the Dcup for concentrates, and the Vrod for marijuana mayhem.

Pick your controller (if needed), joint sizes for your glass, and whatever appropriate accessories.

I have no problem figuring out the site and what to buy, but new people coming in who are on a budget that only allows for a minimal setup are often confused about what they absolutely have to get for a working setup, what’s nice to have, and what’s not necessary for most people.

I think @invertedisdead is right though; it might be best to focus people on the builder, and make sure they can understand just from that page what’s critical and what’s not.

Some color coding and/or more clearly delineated sections might help. For example, I see the functionality is there to keep you from buying without adding a post, but it’s a little confusing.

There is a small * next to that option and if you try to hit Add to Cart without checking an option there it does give a small red message saying it’s required (up by the post options with no indication near the button you’re looking at), but it could be made much more clear before and after trying to hit the Add to Cart button that this is the one required selection.

Those pages are almost there, they just need a little more work on the visual side!

Here are some of the variables. As you can see there's going need to be some if/then logic involved.
a) 4 glass options (and would like to grow that #) different glass means different laser cut foam inserts
b) xlr & NV enail connections for flat, 16, 20mm, cartridge heaters, nv pid, auber
c) everything 220v & 110v including rosin press controls all having a choice of 4 power cords
d) track inventory on a single part level. for instance the heat post is one part it's insulator ring is another part (in the eyes of the machinist), both need to be scheduled for production. But to the customer it should be only one sku .
e) there's more

Within the next 1/2 year we'd like to move our estore platform from magento to shopify (at least we are still evaluating that decision). In doing so we would like to drastically improve our overall user experience. We would love to have your help with that. @newvape918 has been extensively working on figuring out our next generation web site bundle configurators. As engineers we will likely over think this.

The benefits of shopify is the web security, web hosting, loading new versions all this stuff is part of the monthly subscription. Installing modules just to determine weather or not they meet your particular business needs costs thousands / weeks and require a developer on magento. On shopify it's plug and play. In the past Shopify's Restricted Items product list prevented us from using them. Since Canada went legal there terms seemed to have changed.

Trust me when I say I wish we could just use amazon, ebay, pintrest, paypal, google shopping, google paid ads, apple pay, quickbooks, etc... none of those are vaporizer friendly. You may slick a product posting past them for a week or 2 but eventually there going to find it shut it down, and possibly hold your money hostage. Don't be surprised if you if you come to newvape one day and see that we are only accepting western union, or wire transfer it's because our merchant account has canceled our service and it's that or mail us a check. It's a tricky time to sell cannabis related products. I've seen it get worse with the advent of cbd vape shops on every corner. The credit card processors are now the gate keeper not the web hosting services. This has recently changed. We were recently required to remove all images and references of cannabis from our site. So we have to defeature our site and hope people are able to read between the lines.

Seems hard to explain the minor differences between the two controllers easily on a webpage. IMO to really simplify the experience, one of them has to go.

When in doubt, always refer to Storz & Bickel. Simple.

For items with multiple parts, perhaps use the part number on the webpage to represent what the customer would see - ex: heat post (3127)
But on the back end have a parts breakdown of 3127 being comprised of 3127A titanium heating post and 3127B insulator ring. Then bag and stock the part as 3127 to reduce your parts bins.

The SH was, is, and always will be a great vaporizer. Just seems hard to demonstrate its benefits over the rest of the lineup on a web page. The way I see it if the Showerhead was culled, nobody who never used one is going to know what they're missing. All of the Flowerpots are great vaporizers. And with the VROD working fine with the Auber controller and coil, the coil option isn't really an issue anymore.

Been away for a while from this thread...

Lately @NewVape710 has been posting a lot of pics and videos on IG.
This brought me to bringing the 1st edition SH out for a session!
Set at 340C using the small 14mm bowl and an EQ basket.
Beautiful vapor and flavor! And the effects are just as good!

A buddy brought his new vape pen over and wanted me to try it. To him it is potent as hell and kicks his ass every time he uses it... It was cigarette sized with a wick of sorts in the so called "concentrate"
Tasted faintly of grapes, had pretty good vapor but almost zero effects on me. Felt a bit odd and that was about it.

Hit the SH a few hours after the pen and now I am flying high!
Way more vapor output and very nice flavor!!
Happy I brought her out of semi-retirement as she will sit on my desk for quite some time now!

Love the Shower Head....absolutely adore it. Yes, lots of Ti, but wow that sucker can heat sink.

I mean, I get it...but is the Shower Head no longer selling due to WE eating all of the flower FP sales?

Looked at the IG vid of the cap on the WE....very nice.

As for me....I'm still a New Vape fan and love USA made products reflecting solid engineering and being built of of high quality.

If you can generate a working carb cap for the WE, I see no benefit to keeping the SH other than nostalgia, ideally it would stay on hands free

Just want to chime in as its been awhile since I have been actively posting due to work , just getting married and finding out that my wife is pregnant . I wanted to say the FlowerPot is still king in my home , I miss you all still read the forums when I can and NewVape Stay up , you guys are awesome in my eyes .
