Whats best way to preserve coil life, lowering it to 200-300 degrees and wait till it drops then turn it off ?

Good question. As someone relatively new to the flowerpot, I’d be interested to hear others input on this as well. When I’m home, I pretty much leave it on all day. When I’m nicely medicated and don’t see myself using it for a few hours (or when not home) I just flip it off.
If I can collect enough data i'll make graph of the results.

Wait a minute. You guys are leaving your flowerpot on all day? We can do that without harming the units? If so, that’s awesome!! I’ve done it by mistake and thought I screwed up! Good to know if it won’t hurt anything. Only had it for less than a month.

I use the sapphire d-nail dish on my v-rod. Not only does it help with the flavor of my dabs, it also helps take larger dabs. On top of that I find the extra heat that is retained by the dish helps get a more full extraction of flower at lower temps. I have also used the d-nail sic dish in my v-rod and it worked well, but nowhere near the sapphire dish(in terms of overall added benefits). To clean them both I just crank the heat up to 1000 and let them sit for an hour max. I have used the d-nail quartz dish as well and am not really a fan, I only really like quartz for bangers at this point since I find the oil splashes/moves up more on quartz then other surfaces which leads to more waste on this style of dish. SiC is my favorite for cleaning because I do not have to clean it until it starts tasting off, where as my OCD comes out when using my sapphire and quartz dishes as they are easy to tell if even one dab has been taken on them.
I typically leave my weedeater on all day to.

This brush adapter uses any brush with a 1/8" shaft. I've looked high and low for titanium brushes. The replacment stainless brush i've found will retail for around $10.5 The entire assembly will be around $20.
I hope to begin the final design of the duff can next week.

I feel taste the same with Quartz and SiC...maybe slight edge to quartz. Cleaning and maintenance to SiC by far. As long as I dedicate one qtip to cleaning after each dab, the SiC remains like new. Nothing on it. Back when I was lazier cleaning it, adding some distilled water and light scrapping got any build-ups off (while unit is hot).
I'd love to try the sapphire, but the "delicate" warning has got me scared to drop $300 on it. At $100, I'd risk it's delicate nature!

haha...I'm not touching that (yes, @Stu , I do occasionally follow directions! haha)
I will say that I continue to LOVE my FP SH and the adjust-a-bowl. After a small bit of discussion...mostly here on FC...I think that NV adjusted their bowl design and NAILED it.
Not a bit of air leak in my adjust-a-bowls and they never stick in my glass. What more can you want.
I rotate between FP SH and EVO as my main vapes (I'm a bit older, vape almost exclusively at home, so I like desktops). FP SH is a wonderful device.
Also, I have had nothing but good experiences with NV CS.
I have been touting NV products since I bought my first Pax Loading Tool which is so wonderfully useful its stupid...it fits into an ELB, an Enano stem, a VC tip, and a level scoop of fine grind is right at .1 g so I can generally estimate pretty closely the amount I'm loading.
I also love my arm band version of the Fine Grinder. I tend to bulk grind and then case it up so I do tend to load a grinder up. I still have my OG Fine Grinder but the arm band version provides a great grip and IMO a great fine grind.
I have a BCG, and its a truly wonderful product, but I still use my NV grinder the most.
I also have NV's handle on my coils. Yes, they are not cheap for a handle, but wow do they work well for me once installed on the coil.
Just thought I would pop in and offer my view of NV's fine products and services.
Oh, on subject of insert materials...I have never used sapphire. I have just seen way too many reports of cracked sapphire and the cost is very high. I do run SiC and Obsidian in Ligers and a D-nail Slim Line. I'm not at all interested in a quartz insert....I like SiC and I like Obsidian even more for being impervious to gunk while providing the neutral taste of SiC.

Was at a gathering with friends a few weekends ago, brought my FP VROD down with me along with a variety of flower and concentrates. Introduced my brother from another mother to it after endless online chats and pictures, once he got to use it he fell in love and picked up a kit for himself. He is extremely well-versed with vaping and we've traded vape stories and reviews over the years, and seriously, once he used it and experienced how incredible this thing is he had no qualms buying it essentially on the spot.
After some chatting and reflection I think the biggest hurdle he experienced was how daunting all the parts and customization is. I know I felt the same especially reading about this 2 years ago or so. The product has matured greatly and is so robust, I'm excited to see its evolution.
It's been a great pleasure to read the experiences of new buyers and those interested, and it may go without saying but I do want to underscore this:
Ask any and all questions you may have!
Don't be shy, the FP doesn't have to be a mysterious titanium contraption! You can geek out and go nuts with customizing its use, or be a lazy guy like me and just set it and forget it at a temp you find works best for your use. I'm dying to see what the next desktop vape may be that will topple this one, but my imagination just leads me back to the FP in some shape or form. Just my

Just want to chime in as its been awhile since I have been actively posting due to work , just getting married and finding out that my wife is pregnant . I wanted to say the FlowerPot is still king in my home , I miss you all still read the forums when I can and NewVape Stay up , you guys are awesome in my eyes . You put out great products , contribute to the forums and are always looking to innovate. Ty and Ty to everyone on this site for the wealth of knowledge you all provide and contribute. It has helped me greatly . Hope everyone is doing great .
If you fellas have any suggestions to make the buying process simpler. All suggestions are welcome. The bundles were created just for that reason, to take the guesswork out of it, but I understand not everyone is going to want that.
It is quite difficult because there are so many parts, and as a machine shop, we have to account for every single little part. e.i. Showerhead Headset is made up of three parts. So internally we think three parts. but on the front end, it should be one part.

I have to say yes there are alot of parts but what is nice they always add up to the single bundle items that you can buy. When I was looking over all the parts I like how everything is modular and able to be put together. That might just be my engineering side though

I can check the site later tonight but it won't reflect a newbie or new user navigating for the first time. What I an remember from my early experience is that I would get hung up on what a part was for and whether I needed it, something I think the kits have elegantly resolved. I also had trouble deciding on the shovelhead or...something else that I can't remember the name of; why would I choose one over the other, what are the pros and cons, etc.
Maybe a glossary or overview of the system through an exploded view would be helpful? I actually thought I saw something like this recently, but perhaps even that isn't enough for a potential customer who, in a haze of cannabis, has excitedly loaded up the site but then is overwhelmed and then distracted.
(ok, I hopped on the site just now and it looks really nice, if a bit overwhelming with all the options. love the bundles, but maybe an easy-to-read product comparison page/chart would be good to help guide new customers?)

"The Simple Bundle". (you really don't even need the handle)
- PIC controller
- Weedeater head/nut/diffuser
- 20 mm coil
- basic puck safety stand with one post
- Shovelhead bucket
When new-to-vaping people see your site, it does look complicated. All those things! Parts! Metal! where does it all go???? I personally like having a clean and uncluttered desk. I don't want three different FP versions with all the attachments bristling at me like a pincushion.
When I look at my Weedeater setup, I see ONLY: the simple puck with the Weedeater on it, the controller next to it, and my bong with the bucket. I don't need or want all the other stuff NV sells. This actually came with the larger base with all the holes, but I bought the simple puck because I like it better. I keep my jar of vaped weed and the stirring tool off to the side with the unvaped weed. It is simple and uncluttered.
My guess is that if you had a super minimal bundle as described above, it would be cheaper and, more importantly, people would understand at a glance how it works and be more likely to buy it.

Also maybe have a couple more "bare-bones" bundles for the poors like me. One similar to the Essentials bundle (3229) but no case, one bowl joint attachment and really cheap stand (like that simple v-stand from a while back, or something else). And even a bundle below that that would not include a coil or controller. Then drop-downs to add anything else to those bundles.
This next product idea came from a existing customer.
The flowerpot Tamp. I've not had the chance to try it yet. Fits shovelhead bowls.

Maybe something like the dyna builder (Dynavap.com). Present the user with the overall kit and let them customize the required parts where possible (panhead/shovelhead etc) and add the optional parts they want. Certain choices would lock others (NV controller forces NV coil) but in the end it should represent a functional kit.
