VROD STUFF
Have there been any side by side comparisons with the vrod and nv's 20mm wrap around using dnails sic dish? Wondering how much improved it could be when only using concentrates. The extra airflow is probably nice just not sure how different they might feel...aesthetics no question vrod looks awesome!
Your correct @psychonaut if left on it doesn't matter. The only differences I've seen between the vrod and the wraparound is a little more heat up time required.
@Hogni wrap direction being significant is bc the head is milled so that the way the coil wrap direction is it slots right in and makes perfect contact with the metal . If that makes sense . This image of the inside head may help explain a bit : https://i.imgur.com/yDWROfY.jpg
I will say to everyone that your non NV coil may fit as I have some that do but it will not make contact with the head/nut the way it was intended to. I learned this 1st hand when I started using VRod and wondered why I had to crank my temps so high and was not getting great results. That’s when Edwyn had pointed out to me that my coil wraps were not clockwise with the 17mm height and extra wrap of the coil . As soon as I changed that out I noticed a difference immediately .
@psychonaut i am not home now but I’ll try when I can to throw up a image of the coil .
@newvape918 Yes, please! I concur with Dr Hogni, more data required urgently. And I would value your opinion along with my fellow board members' in regards to the question that every member/lurker/reader who has yet to pull the trigger on a Flowerpot set-up will undoubtedly have: If the VRod is the "one to rule them all" does that include the Wrap-Around and also the Showerhead? If I don't have anything, is the VRod the best one to get?@newvape918
I would like to see comparing pics of the VRod paired with the Shovelhead bowl and with the Panhead please

You should heat it up and then loosen the nut when it's hot. The Ti expands more than the SiC (SiC barely expands at all) when heated, so heating it up should loosen the nut and allow you to remove while hot.Ordered the vrod. 50% was just too tempting.
Has anyone experienced the wa nut beeing stuck? I turned the pid up too get the sic dish clean and I'm afraid that it might have been a little too much. Can' t get the nut off by hand. Unfortunately I'm moving at the moment and have no pliers or other tools here at the old house. Tried already putting it into the freezer.
How hard is sic? Should I be careful using tools to unscrew the nut?
I don't really need to get it off other than to clean it. So if I can damage it I might just keep it on.
Edit: to be clear the nut which fastens the sic dish
pxl_jockey to help answer some questions for you : Yes VRod is the best one to get if Flower & Concentrate are being equally used by you. It combines the best aspects of the Sh & Wa all in one unit. If you are only using flower than I would not say the Sh is the best way to go but I'd say they are on par and equal in performance so you should be very happy with either for that aspect. You can use your Sh coil with VRod if it is the 20mm NewVape Coil or if it is another coil it must meet the specs listed on NV'S site as we discussed ( 17mm height with 4 wraps in a clockwise direction ) there are images on there site of the coil, if you can find one that matches up it will work. I did not understand this question : " Couldn't one omit the dish altogether and use the VRod with the bowl of choice? " you can use any bowl you'd like with VRod though that NV sells for the FP. I'm also sure you can just take the dish off the VRod and use it for flower only if you choose to do so.@newvape918 Yes, please! I concur with Dr Hogni, more data required urgently. I can see the obvious appeal to the concentrate users, casual and connoisseur, and for the natural-born freaks in the thread upgrading/adding to their NV collection. It's too freakin gorgeous, that promo clip is virtually vape porn! If I didn't have the WA, I would get the VRod and never look back at the WA.
But for the herbaceous user, is the SH still the way to go? Couldn't one omit the dish altogether and use the VRod with the bowl of choice? Or is the SH still the best way forward for flower-only peeps? I'm asking because beyond its sexy profile, the idea of less parts is appealing to me.
@Vitolo I would love to get your thoughts on the VRod when you are able. Also, I keep thinking of your unboxing video with the locks on the hard case. Newvape420 pointed the locks out as good practice, regardless of the state you live in. I'm not in the states currently and won't be living there for some time but as a US citizen, it makes me wonder. Please keep in mind that I haven't lived stateside since cannabis became legal anywhere, so I'm truly ignorant and curious how a case & locks protect against police?
@jardri If I understand you correctly, it's there because the VRod uses a different coil altogether. You can't use your SH coil with the VRod, it's not interchangeable.
EDIT: clarity

I just use a pair of pliers. I never go anymore than smug enough to keep the dish from spinning but the nut always gets stuck. A gentle 1/8 turn with pliers and it comes right off.Ordered the vrod. 50% was just too tempting.

Yep I’ve had the Wa nut stick when I wanted to take the sic dish off for a deep cleaning. I just gripped it ever so lightly with some small pliers and it came loose with barely any force applied. Just more grip than my fingers could muster I suspect.Ordered the vrod. 50% was just too tempting.

You're welcome. Glad to help and glad it worked (I don't have a FlowerPot yet so this was just theoretical ... ...)Wow, that was easy. Thx
I am really digging the new VROD design but reading the instructions it specifically says you must place "the 20mm coil should spiral clockwise when leaving the handle". Could any of you explain me why? Is it important if I have a regular showerhead?
