It's not proprietary, other nail companies use this design and its been available for decades.
BTW, I got a thermocouple that I've compared with my IR gun for accuracy and it looks like the SiC Halo runs about 450F in the center of the trench with the controller set at 550F. This is about 45F off from dnail's temp calculator but I am sure they are using a slim base or something without much mass.
Hello my friend - I do want to be clear....the NV controller and coil are a good price and apparently work just fine. I'm absolutely not saying that they don't.Opps forgot to add but what @steama said , get the coil cover . It's a in-expensive investment imo.
@Baron23 i think it is worth it if you are one of those guys that keeps your Enail on all day long , peace of mind , probably not needed though . I actually keep my Enail on for a few hours at a time and its usually my Hex and i am using a cheap coil but i never leave home with it on. I can vouch for larger connectors being better that carry more current as i have also built a few fast rc cars and drones in my time and learned my lesson from using flimsy connectors that run current through them.
Not too hard, but I think that the reason you don't see that discussed much is that its not needed...just get a coil that's compatible with your controller.
Oh Baron no worries in no way did i take your comment as trying to put down NV or effect there sales in any way at all , in fact NV does not even make the coil we are talking about , i believe vapcode does and they just sell it. All i was saying or at least trying to say is the connectors size that is passing electrical current through it definitely plays a role in safeness as this all can trickle down to one of my hobbies of building electric rc car vehicles and drones that have very high currents going through the connectors . I have learned my lesson as i have had smaller cables melt and burn up engines and computer systems on the vehicles and now use a larger connector that can handle a higher current. Some of the smaller ones i have used said they could handle it but failed. Now i have no idea what kind of current is flowing through Enail coils or not what but all i can say is it is somewhat relate-able that's all and a peace of mind to some. It is kind of obvious though that a larger cable should handle current flowing through it better than a smaller one , right ?Hello my friend - I do want to be clear....the NV controller and coil are a good price and apparently work just fine. I have just tried to explain my priorities and thinking that goes into my personal decision on coil purchases.
One thing that plays into my thinking and may not for others is that I have multiple controllers, coils, enails and I absolutely do not want to get into any sort of interface incompatibility issues within my personal kit.
I am NOT trying to kill NV's controller/coil sales. Not my objective at all and I believe my very long history on line will show me to be a booster of NV products for quite some time starting with the fine grinder and loading tool to the Pax accessories. I have like NV products for a couple of years now, spoke with Edwyn pleasantly on the phone before more recent unpleasantness (he called me back in response to an inquiry) and I had even talked to him about visiting the plant when I'm next in FL.
I am a NV supporter. We just don't agree on every dang thing. I have my reasons, they have theirs.

I have no issue with fitment using my newvape coil , its a perfect fit and as for other coils using my Hex nail i did have some issues that had lead me to search and spend allot of $ testing random coils until i found one that fit really well . So if you are using the NV coil you will be golden , if not the one i had linked to above if you can find it fits and works well but will not work with the NV enail controller. Fitment is great for both of mine , the only thing i could say i'd like personally is one more wrap of coil so the coil touches the top and bottom of the head and base perfectly but i have no usage issues at all.
You will learn to eat what is put in front of you! Get the coil cover my friend.
Sorry buddy i could not tell you as all the coils i have now are perfect fitting and not loose at all , i had got rid of my ill fitting coils long ago before the coil cover was even out. But like everyone said , its worth it to have even if the coil fitment is a bit loose.Sorry, I should have been more clear; I'm fine with my NV coil, I was trying to help @mixchu69 who is looking for a new coil and I wanted to have more data to help other people with similar questions in the future.
I was really just asking whether or not you find your looser Hex Nail coil to fit and/or work better now that you have a coil cover, assuming you've tried it since then.
Hah...don't worry, I bought the kit during the Black Friday sale and I've had the coil cover on the whole time. Sorry my question's intent wasn't clear enough.
@biohacker may find this an additional benefit...
...this is in regards to the divine tribe hydratube attachment...
...its very close in size to the nv bowl...
...it does fit the (eerlectric) double weave ti screens..
...it mates the showerhead very well (almost/if not the same as the nv bowl)
...performance is spot on...
...only negative about the divine tribe HT attachment is no handle... i used my sweatshirt to dump bowl (higher potential for breakage).. ALSO i found the restriction greater with the DTHT attachment... however people like @biohacker may find this an additional benefit...
Thanks man! Guessing go with the 14mm and use an adapter? The glass will stick as much as Ti (old bowls)? Do you much prefer it over the ti?
So what would be the advantage of the 14mm over the 18mm, more restriction?

AFAIK The 18mm only works with the SH inverted. And I think the 18mm will stick like the OG Ti bowls, so 14mm+adapter is the way to go if you use 18mm joints like me.
Interesting herbalaire bag clamp idea!
Wouldnt that only apply to the bowls with a different diameter listed previously in this thread? The bowl on the DT adapter should have the exact same diameter on both as they are made to fit the same unit with only the glass to glass portion being different to couple with said 18mm or 14mm glass stem.
Loving this SH! https://instagram.com/p/BfPBNu7lc6x/
Glad you are loving it man, but Im sure glad your video is on loop- I got my popcorn out when I saw "Zow237 replied..."Loving this SH! https://instagram.com/p/BfPBNu7lc6x/

I only took one bite though reading your post! But luckily I could munch some more down while your video looped several times.
Saved half the bag for your more detailed thoughts later.
Like, how do you like the airflow? Do you find it much more open than the GS?
I know its far too early (like half an hour lol), but I dont see your GS in the classifieds yet?
Sorry bro, not taking the michael honestly just joking around.
I will be interested in yoyr thoughts though on these two, I am secretly betting the GS may go and the SH stay to keep SSV company. Just love making fun predictions anyway.
How is the flavour from the SH? A noticeable drop down from the SSV? Maybe the SH effects will make up for that though?
No need to answer anything specifically, just some guidelines to get your official "review" started, (which we all wanna hear in full- it is actually an unwritten contractual obligation that comes with having checked out so many top vapes in quite quick succession.)
Respect to all hope it is a good day for everyone as the weekend rolls in.
My mum is currently downstairs vaping one of our indica autos in her Showerhead (just heard her coughing!)
