While looking through boxes for a glass adapter I came across my Puffit2 WPA and it fit the SH perfect.

The Double weave Titanium screen will fall out if I turn it over but I like it the best so far.

Careful using that bowl setup. It looks like you are getting conduction heat from the color of your ABV.....it's pretty dark almost pre combustion looking...

The issue is that the shower head is very close to the load there, which is the total opposite of your taller make shift one. You probably had to draw much longer to get the same amount of vapor because of this. And also you may have noticed a different taste or something between the 2?

I thought I posted a link to the 14mm bowl I use on mine several pages back in my post with all the pictures....maybe a mod took the links for the 2 sources I got them from? Or I may have posted that ways back from there.

You can get these bowls pretty cheap on dhgate @ $8.20 for 2
Chicken hooked me up on a USA seller whom was on the bay @ $12
Make sure you do not get the 18mm ones.....get the 14mm.

Anyone have any issues with their sh turning white? Calcification of the ti? I got a shower head off of @bellas and noticed the top of the head is covered with a white crust on the holes. Anyone else have this issue. Anyone know a quick fix to that?

Post a picture. It sounds like titanium dioxide, but the SH would have to have been glowing red hot to form that so fairly unlikely.

i hope i dont get anyones back up when i say this though....my ssv with the ddave mod kicks its backside in the flavour department(down to the glass airpath and ceramic heat source as well maybe?)

I know there was a bit of discussion about this already, but I’ve noticed that a few things can make a huge difference to the taste for me:

1. The glass. The stereo matrix rig is nice to use and I like watching it, but if I use my old piece with a simple downstem that just has a few holes and little water, the flavor of a small load comes through a *lot* more. The fab egg is somewhere in between.

2. Temps/draw speed. Down in the 500s on the PID with a slow draw it tastes a lot better to me than when I go up into the 600s with the same draw speed. Others report great tasting one-hitters with a medium-fast (often ramping up) draw in the 700s though. Probably because they’re extracting more from the same amount of material all at once.

3. Load size. Small loads (just covering the screen or less) work well, but at least at lower temps (500s) a thicker covering of the screen adds a lot to the flavor. I’ve heard micro-dosing with a small basket screen also tastes good (similar principles using less material but still a thicker layer).

I wouldn’t expect this to be the best tasting vaporizer to everyone, but I do think it’s capable of delivering great flavor and hopefully some experimentation with the parameters above (and maybe a glass bowl) will help you get there. :)

By the way, for those looking for glass bowls, @invertedisdead also posted some that worked for him a while ago, and both NewVape and a well-regarded DHGate seller are working on glass bowls specifically for the Flower Pot.

There was a lot of discussion about it in this thread pretty recently, so no, the glass bowl idea has not fallen out of favor!

Yeah it's def white and it was super crusty when I got it. I used an ISO while and tried running it really hot. I'll take a picture and post it soon

Ouch that looks pretty terrible man , some oxidization going on. Shoulda went new , maybe it was a pre-production sample possibly . Either way it will still work for flower but I personally wouldn't wanna dab off that surface. I have not had that happen to mine yet and its been through allot of use and some neglected cleaning but my ultra sonic cleaner has always brought it back to new.

Edit : Cant be pre-production as i now see the #'s in the dish and that had come after the ones without the #'s. Maybe just a neglected head. I would clean with dish soap and water , than take a dremel with a polishing tool to it with a wax made for titanium and see if that helps out.

If it is titanium dioxide as suggested above, running it really hot (depending on what really hot is to you) could actually created *more* of it, and it’s not something I’d want to be breathing in.

I’ve never had to deal with it so I don’t know what the best methods of getting rid of it are, but I would get rid of all of it before use and I wouldn’t ever heat it up to the point it gets red, although obviously plenty of people torching their Ti do and they’d probably disagree with me.

People seem to be using the SH safely at temps up to 800f or a bit beyond on the PID though, and that still gives at least a couple of hundred degrees of buffer before titanium dioxide would start to form from what I’ve read.

I got it from @bellas on the classifieds. Clearly it's whatever they did to it? ;damn so I shouldn't use this? Fuck this really sucks.

I don’t know enough about what happened to it or the risks if it is titanium dioxide to say for sure that you shouldn’t use it, but personally I wouldn’t use it before finding out what happened to it and cleaning it up thoroughly.

In my opinion not worrying about inhaling mysterious white powder is well worth the $60 a new head would cost, but hopefully the one you have will clean up well.

Like I said though, there are plenty of people who torch their Ti nails to higher temps and use them all day long without giving it a second thought, so not everyone is as concerned about these issues as I am.

Edit: Glad to hear it cleaned up well! Hopefully with normal use you’ll never have to worry about it again. :)

It literally looked like the top layer of the ti was taken off somehow. I took dish soap and hot water and now it's gone. Thanks for the help!
You mean it is fixed now? If so you crack me up again man- "How can I clean my dinner plate, it's got this gravy stuff all over it? What's that you say- washing up liquid?" (UK version)....
some time later..."Wow, I washed my plate up and now the gravy is GONE! Didn't need to call the fire brigade."
Haha just fooling bro, I hope it is safe for you to use I cant wait to head your thoughts on it.

Can someone recommend a good coil for the showerhead that uses the regular 5-pin xlr connection? I've used my dnail 20mm daily for 3 years but it has warped badly after the continued use. I saw the auber for $46, thinking about purchasing hex-nail and their coil is $40.

Edit: my search skills really suck. I think these coils can last a longer than ppl think or maybe I got lucky with d-nail, but don't want to pay the premium.

I'm looking for the same thing, but wanted to go dnail 20mm lol I want to be able to use my SV4 PID and won't support NV's proprietary coil/controller again.

NV's proprietary coil/controller again.

It's not proprietary, other nail companies use this design and its been available for decades. Someone should just make an adapter for this and then you can use whatever's clever! Google is failing me, or I'm failing Google, an adapter doesn't seem to exist, but surely it's just a matter of having it made.

@biohacker I just thought about it and maybe the extra $20 premium is worth the longevity of the d-nail 20mm heater coil

I’ve also seen other people here buy 2 or more different coils looking for the best fit*, but trying another coil is more time and more than an extra $20. If you have one you’re happy with and the only drawback is a little higher price, I’d stick with it. Does D-Nail have many sales or discount codes?

* Loose or short coils were more of an issue before the coil cover so I don’t know how many people are still concerned about getting a tight fit, but coil diameters and heights do vary a bit.

I have 2 Enail's , one from NV using the coil they had supplied that works great and has perfect fitment and a Hex Nail that uses the standard xlr config. I did not find my Hex coil to fit perfectly and went on the search for a new coil and with much trial and error , the best one i had purchased was on Ebay for around $30 - Aiicioo 120v 100w Enail Coil Heater 20mm 5 Pin XLR Male Plug with K Thermocouple

After consulting with electrical engineers, we choose a commonly available XLR connection that is capable of carrying 30% more current than other styles. We encourage you to use the coil that makes you the most comfortable, but 30% more capacity makes us the most comfortable!

@Justpassedu So you do still find the coil fit to be an issue even with the coil cover? Does the coil cover help at all? Thanks for the additional info; I only have the NV branded controller and coil so I can't compare.

I have no issue with fitment using my newvape coil , its a perfect fit and as for other coils using my Hex nail i did have some issues that had lead me to search and spend allot of $ testing random coils until i found one that fit really well . So if you are using the NV coil you will be golden , if not the one i had linked to above if you can find it fits and works well but will not work with the NV enail controller. Fitment is great for both of mine , the only thing i could say i'd like personally is one more wrap of coil so the coil touches the top and bottom of the head and base perfectly but i have no usage issues at all.
