Boundless Tera

I didn’t see this tip when I scanned through the thread. I heat my tera up to 220c and then do my cigar puffs to get it going. Then I lower to 180c to vape my bowl. The temp bump at the start let’s me do 3-4 puff to get solid vapour production rather than the 10 it takes if I start at my vape temp. If you don’t like taking the tera off your water piece to lower the temp you can do the three clicks to put it into concentrate mode and then after the cigar puffs triple click it to put it back in normal mode at your preferred temp.

So up until recently I had been using the tera with one of those arizer 3d flow stems, where I had disassembled the short glass mouthpiece cover and stuck the arizer stem through that and into that rubber grommet, where it fit pretty snug. Was good, but sometimes I got weirdly wispy vapour, had some consistency issues. Then one evening when messing about I asked myself if the stem would fit all the way into the bowl, kinda how it is used in an arizer. Turns out, it fits perfectly. So I ran a few test bowls without the rubber grommet and the stem preloaded and then pushed all the way to the bottom of the bowl. I don't know why, but it was definitely better, thicker vapour. Also smaller bowl size which is nice for me. The only thing is that the arizer stem felt somewhat lose in the plastic cover, kinda swiveled a bit too easy. So earlier I cut the lowest bit of the rubber grommet off so it now keeps the stem goes all the way through it and down to the base of the bowl, it keeps the stem more solidly fixed and also prevents any air from potententially creeping through on the sides. It is awesome, I highly recommend it. It almost feels like it gets a bit more conduction power from the glass being right on the hot metal of the bowl, the bowl size is much more convenient and the vapour is just the bomb. Never tried an arizer, but I'd imagine it's a bit like an arizer on steroids. I've seen the initial mod being recommended quite a bit, so I just thought I'd share this option of going about it with the tera.

What I want to know is if they have fixed the problems they were having. I'd like another Tera but I have three dead ones and don't want to add to that collection.....

Tera Mouthpiece Upgrades Improve Your Experience

Many Tera users and reviews have commented on the performance and value of the Boundless Tera vape. It’s versatile - it can be used with water pieces using the WPA as well as stock with its swappable foldable stem and glass mouthpieces; it's also powerful, putting out copious amounts of vapor, especially when used through water.

Despite its strengths, I think there are a few issues with the Tera's stock mouthpieces, and, based on how many of its users employ mods, I am not alone in my thinking.

The stock foldable mouthpiece has a plastic stem, which although perfectly useful is not ideal. The stock glass mouthpiece, while an improvement (in my opinion) in mouth feel, is too short to offer much in the way of vapor cooling. And the stock WPA is metal while many prefer to use a glass joint with their water pieces.

There are different upgrade pathways that people have implemented, this is what I have arrived at after trying a few different things (e.g. Airizer stems). I am not claiming that these are the best mods to do. All I am saying is that these or similar upgrades to the Tera are worthwhile and do improve one’s experience!

Spending just a few dollars to purchase FlowerMate's 18 mm male and / or 14 mm male GonG adapter joints will bring your Tera to a new, greatly improved level of performance --- whether used as dry mouthpieces or as joints for use with water pieces. For a complete mouthpiece overhaul, just replace the plastic stem of the foldable mouthpiece with glass ones.

The modifications or improvements entail purchasing the Flowermate 14mm or 18 mm GonG Adapter and modifying the stock Tera glass mouthpiece by swapping it out for the Flowermate's glass portion. Look at the album and linked pics so you can see how easy this is to do -- no tools needed!

Here's a photo album of the modification steps and the Tera in use with a 14 and 18 mm glass joints

just wanted to add the flowermate WPA mode puts no stress on the inner seal, whereas the stock WPA does touch the seal. As a result with the flowermate mod the seal on my replacement unit has been taking 0 damage

Exactly!
This is what I have observed, too. In fact, I started experimenting with mouthpiece mods looking for a better WPA than the stock one. I like to run my Tera through water, and found that the stock WPA seemed to stress the opening on the Tera.

found that the stock WPA seemed to stress the opening on the Tera.
Only on the first batches of the V3 Tera had this problem due to changing to the o-ring interference fit wpa instead of the magnetic version that ham fisters kept removing accidentally or knocking off and making a mess.
My first V3 cracked the plastic bowl top retainer but my newer version is fine. :2c:

I'm interested in the modded stock mouthpiece, do you have a better pic of it? I don't see how it was done in your pics. The one angled like the stock.

I just received a new Terra to test. My understanding is it is from a new batch, so I'll see if the issues have been fixed. I fired it up and did a burn off then we vaped a bowl. It's really nice to have a Terra again! I really like this vape and am hoping to finally have a reliable one!

That is a straight swap out of the original plastic mouthpiece stem replaced with either a glass or titanium mouthpiece stem. They are usually sold as mouthpieces for a Crafty or Mighty.
Great, thank you!

My new Tera in a new terra

I am in Uruguay where my vaporizer choices are limited.

The few I have previously seen in shops or on the local web-market pages have disappeared. Apparently this is due to a law that treats dry herb vapes as equal to electronic cigarettes.

There is one local vender with a web page, payment options including COD home delivery, and a rapidly disappearing inventory, from whom I had previously purchased a couple of small, walking-around-with $70 vapes, selling here for $125 (Airvape XS GO, Cloudius Atomic9, Airistech HerbvaX).

Due to the shipping problems in the states, the high duties imposed here on imported goods and the prohibition against importing vaporizers, I felt it best to buy a respectable vape ASAP to accompany my 2nd original Solo; something similar for long sessions of sitting and sipping on the balcony.

A now sold-out Volcano was too costly at $980. I was considering the B&S Crafty but they sold out even at $499. Sunday night I finalized an order for a Boundless Tera which was delivered $299 COD on Monday afternoon. This FU site is a boundless source of information so before delivery I had learned about version 3 and then worried that I would get it wrong. Now I have learned that the version 3 is years old.

I also learned of some mouth piece mods. My new Tera is fitted with my Solo stem (into the heater), an old Solo ring-gasket-seal above a silicone “O”ring. It is closed off with the magnetic cover from the Tera glass stem; looks like OEM engineering. I can directly compare the Solo and the Tera as heaters as I use them.

I like the Tera and enjoy its size and weight in the hand; it is heavier than the Solo. The feel in hand is tactilely soft like the XS GO; I will heed the advice to keep alcohol away because I have seen how alcohol damaged the XS GO.

My Tera use has not been long. I have baked a few stems at 220 (I am a high-heat, get it all devotee). The vapor seems cooler than that of the Solo. The full convection Tera has noticeably different delivery than the Solo. Vapor delivery sessions may be somewhat longer. It will be interesting to see if there is any stem residue buildup difference.

So, I am delighted to find that the Tera is so suited to my sitting solo, sightseeing life style and that I can continue using the simple to clean Solo stems and hopefully, in the case of this casa, never not have a charged vape available.

BTW, the Tera glass stem with its screen “nipple” gasket can be fitted to the large end of the WPA to make a longer stem, perhaps cooling. Well, it was news to me.
Oh! And now the Boundless Tera is also sold out.

I'm jealous of you guys with Tera's that work like they should!
This latest replacement has issues also. I believe it may have doing this all along. I turn it off with 5 presses. wait a few seconds after the screen goes off, then press and hold the button of a second or two. the screen lights up showing temperature, indicating it is in standby, not powered off. I'm taking the batteries out of it as now I don't trust it to not turn itself on.
So this make FOUR bum Teras I've had. Now my CFX works flawlessly, and so did the one I had previously. it's why I bought the Tera. And Boundless has been good to me. BUT.......... any product you have had 4 of over a spread of a year that are all defective, says to me this vape is junk, plain and simple. And it's obviously the electronics board, so WHY isn't it fixed?? My Arizer Argo is almost a replacement for it, except for the fact that the Argo doesn't hold enough weed, although swapping pre-loaded stems fixes that. Come on Boundless, get your shit together and fix this vape!

Yes I'm working with them. Just frustrated with these issues. But the company has been good about this so I'm not knocking boundless. And in the meantime, my CFX works great.
