projected, not promised
Nicely spun.Don't forget folks, the delays and missing functionality are all okay because those deadlines were merely projected rather than promised!
After thinking about it for awhile, I realized I am much more excited about the DTV5 then I am the M22. I was super stoked back in Dec. when I placed my order. But since then i have purchased 5 or 6 dtv4’s for myself and others, and couldn’t be happier! Where as i hear a lot of things that have made me question the durability of some of AVS’s products (Mainly the legs breaking on a $100 crucibl.).You know the DTV5 is going to be on point! Not to mention, I’m sure it will be cheaper..... by a lot most likely, and from my experience DT products have proven to be very durable, reliable, and their customer support is top notch. I still want my m22 e-rig, but it’s just not what’s got me the most excited anymore. Plus, as I’ve said before. “I wouldn’t be surprised if i purchased and received my DTV5, (which isn’t even available for pre-order yet by the way.) before my M22 shows up! AVS really needs to get their operation in order or their product is going to fall victim to superior tech before theirs even reaches the masses!
What the hell is this garbage? I NEVER called you a shill, even though it IS really weird of you to bring that up right now. You seem to be REALLY jumpy about that, so I'll leave it be.
As for AVS lying? They have been.
You are seriously emotionally invested in this product, so I don't see much point in arguing with you. I was considering buying (look a few pages back) and I'm not on reddit (because people like you run that place). Based on your attitude, I'm not surprised at all that people from reddit follow you here. You kinda deserve it.
The above quote shows that this has been an ongoing issue.
4 months is not "a few weeks" and nothing you say will change that. Okay? People were CLEARLY mislead about the timeline.
The text on the site is a lie. Not a projection. Otherwise people from January would have their orders. You understand that, right?
Buddy, that's really rich coming from you. You repeating corporate garbage 🗑 about missed dates relegates you to the "troll bin" in my book, anyways.
Confidently incorrect is probably the worst stance to assume in any business. It just breeds mistrust and makes you look like you have no clue what you're talking about. As has been extensively mentioned, the AVS deadlines of all sorts have been pooped on and that poop has been stepped on at this point. There is just too much misdirection and not enough ownership of mistakes in their approach IMO. It seems like the only people standing up for AVS are the few rampant social media posters who got their shit.
To those in it for the long haul. There are actually Chinese CTs out there in the wild, but the "alpha tester" community is very tight lipped. There are videos of it working in other hands than Brent's now, but it would be important to know just how reliable the device is. I'll be interested to see some actual volume usage from non-alpha testers, bugs and all.
Get ready for that American CT drop in February 2022. hyyyyyyyype
I think the CT takes 21700s. But what concerns would you have with possible dangerous bugs?yeah. In some ways I’m almost a little concerned to stick an 18650 (with all the potential dangers thst come from a small device housing a lot of energy) into the CT until it’s proven to actually work all the time and not have potentially dangerous bugs
Box mod technology is not really the worry these days. Seems like most accidents happen with user error (i.e. using batteries with bad wraps).I think the CT takes 21700s. But what concerns would you have with possible dangerous bugs?
Wouldn’t it be the same with any box mod if not worse since they aren’t designed around the idea of dabbing or is it the new “more advanced” technology that worry’s you?
I’m genuinely curious as I’m still pretty new to the AVS atmosphere(meaning I haven’t had to deal with a huge wait), but did preorder a mod, so want to know what to keep my eyes out for since I don’t know a ton about box mods.

If this were true we would all have one. Maybe in 12 months? but I thought that 12 months ago.but make superior products.
Have you contacted them about this? They just received a whole bunch of tc escc. Not sure how it works with the uk supplier though.Personally, Ive had it with avs. Promised a working escc months ago. Still waiting and the UK supplier has literally given up with the false promises made by Brent (and I trust the UK supplier 1000 times more than Brent).
Seeing as this is what I paid for a year ago but have only received an oos and an escc that lasted precisely a month I'm a tad pissed.
In fact I'm going to state that imo Brent is a joke who has left early adopters high and dry. F
As my supplier has given up I will try this and ask very nicely. When the escc worked it was great and I really wanted to support AVS.Have you contacted them about this? They just received a whole bunch of tc escc. Not sure how it works with the uk supplier though.
Those are some awesome developments!
Are you all able to get good TC with a standard mod? As I understand it, that's the point of the clips. Correct?
Do the TC M22s listed as "in stock" come with updated parts?
I'm still interested in the M22, but I'm weary after all that has occurred in the last 2 years. I'm not willing to pay to beta test. I want to buy an "in stock" product, and have a consistent experience afterwards. It seems like AVS might finally be getting there.
I think technically speaking they no longer have any beta products outside of the Control tower. I’m sure anything ordered now would come with updated parts. I think the only parts updated are the ESCC and Zirc but not 100% sure. For tc with a standard mod I can’t say, as I just use wattage, but I’m curious what led you to think the clips are meant to help TC with standard mods? I thought they were just a new way to connect the “coil” to the deck basically. Those are some awesome developments!

But like Florduh said above, works super great in wattage with profiles.

You can get good TC with a normal mod, but it's not really plug and play.
With a DNA mod would just be a matter of setting up a TCR value according to the recommended TCR value that comes with your cup, and then lock in your resistance at what it also says on the packaging with the cup (or there-arounds ... depending on the mod you might need to adjust a little ... ie. I find my cup runs better at .44 then .43 that it indicated on the packaging)Technically speaking, I don't think the vast majority of the M22s in circulation were supposed to be beta units. They were functionally treated exactly like betas though. Why else would those units be receiving updated parts a year in? Those people paid to beta test which I am not interested in.
It's just a matter of preference I suppose.
Alright, thanks.
I tend to share these handheld devices, so I'm looking for something with functional TC. I don't need my noobie friends overheating the whole unit.
I don't have 2-year old comments saved or I'd be able to give a better answer... but at one point AVS declared that they had spent months and tons of money getting TC on standard mods to work with the M22. I guess that time went to waste then? Or maybe not?
I thought the changes were to the clips, but I can't remember. Here's a comment discussing TCR on standard mods to send you down the rabbit hole.

Gotchya. Can you break that down for me? I have standard DNA mods. How well would they work?

v3 zirc stopped the wobbling on my v1 OOS crucible too! It also doesn't add much extra resistance, if any at all, compared to the v2. It used to seem like every install with my v2 zirc would always add at least .1ohms (not that it really matters for my OOS, just an observation). After owning the v2 cup (OOS) and v3 zircs for about a month now, I've noticed my routine clip swap/cleaning to be much easier as I'm not getting as much resin buildup on posts or in the atomizer base.1. The v3 Zirconia housing stopped all wobble of the cup when cleaning, even if you are fairly aggressive. This also stops all build-up of resin in the clips themselves and the atomizer base, and keeps it in the zirconia housing. So super easy to clean.
2. The v2 cups the bevel on the legs is MUCH better then on the V1, so all the issues I had with installing the clips/cup with the V1 are completely resolved.
I used a dna250 paranormal paired with the side car bubbler and v1 escc for a year as a daily driver. It’s amazing and works really well once I fine tuned it.I don't have a DNA, but I've heard they're the most accurate for TC on the M22. I'll just throw it out there if you're concerned about a dummy proof option for friends. Arctic Fox has auto-fire. So I double click the button to start firing. When I see my wattage profile start lowering the watts, I know it's time to hit it. There's no guesswork or technique involved. But if you have a DNA, it should be just riding the button on TC. You just need to make sure there's a good clip connection.
