The latch is a bit of a visual oddity, but I suppose one could file it off if it really bothered them.

That's kinda how I felt at 3 in the morning when it was prodding at my inner perfectionist but looking at it again it isn't so bad.

They say take the lid off for higher temps. Is that why people were having trouble with clouds? Were people using with or without the lid? And I always thought you do oils at higher temps anyway. They recommended the highest 2 settings for oil with my vapor blunt 2.

I did bho and hash, high temp, lid off, plugged in...no big clouds, doesnt get red hot...it works, but give up the big cloud dreams with this device as-is...unless your using 'juice'

I am so excited to have ordered my Ascent 2 days ago. Delays and other things aside, do you have any recommendations on the essential oil blends that can be used with Ascent? I searched the internet only to come out confused.

I have heard people talking about thick and thin liquids being used with Ascent - was hoping to see what your experience has been with either types.

Any links from where to buy essential oil that can be used with vaporizer would be very helpful!

Questions about the oil capabilities are fine. When I got to try the Ascent, I did try a couple of the essential oil blends that DaVinci sells. They worked fine as far as I could tell from only a couple of hits. I guess my real point is that DaVinci sells these blends and so I'd expect the Ascent to work well with them.

Starting to get pretty hyped up about this now. Are they still in pre-orders, or if I place an order on the site is it gonna get shipped out (and likely stuck in customs) this week?

How are the clouds with herb? I could care less about how the oil cans work as I'd rather dab oil anyways and oils hard to get here, but bud is easy to come by and I vape for the health benefit, love my clouds though.

For any of those medicinal users who already have the unit, have you tried vaping at the lower temperatures listed in the link below and gotten the effects listed? I'm most interested to find out about the anti inflammatory and analgesic effects at the 320f-340f range. In addition to just enjoying the vape, I find it helps me with my back pain (which no amount of pills or PT seem to). If you're using the 3 step temp change feature, what are your temps for the 3 steps?

I medicate for pain, but I tend to use higher temperatures. When i go lower it acerbates other conditions and make things worse. I have heard good results for that range though and analgesic/anti-inflammatory effects. When I use the 3 step up cycle I start at 410F, 420F, and 430F. I do often take a few smaller hits when the device passes through the 320F-340F range, but I never do a full session there.

Think this one has the Vapor lock seal on it. Looks like a little nub on the right side of the device. Slightly disappointed with the visual quality of the seal :/ Like seriously why care about flush buttons if you are going to have something like that sticking out of the side?

I believe they added the locking clasp & added a thicker layer of silicone or some sort of high resistant material to seal the gap between the bowl and the unit!!!
seems like its thicker than the original ones!!!!

Should be fine... unless it is ultra then plastic or something.

Someone mentioned the Ryot bags as a possible option. Sounds like they have a charcoal layer to absorb the smell. Worth a google.

I hadn't noticed that, but I hates a hard draw and the buddy rim looks pretty cool quite frankly. All that concerns me is whether we will get shipping notices monday or not.

Dude just get a glass smell proof jar. You can find small ones at walmart, target, etc in kitchen supply.

I dunno what kinda pants *you* wear, but most of mine won't fit glass jars that can fit an Ascent into it...

No idea, I too am wondering this.
Good question!

I do have a small air tight glass bowl that my original dv fits in. It is slightly larger than the dv, and fits pretty snug in there so it isn't too big, but not 'on the go' I guess. Good for vaping then taking with me somewhere in a back pack or something.

Nice solution for the home, but it surely isn't pocket friendly, like a plastic bag or flannel pouch (they will not melt or burn).

actually quite impressed with the (presumably) final tied-together, boxed-up version of the ascent. money well spent, imo, even with customs holding up the shipment.

You can use any dry herb in the ascent, just look up the required temps because they vary...I personally have vaped camomile, blue lotus, and peppermint in it and it works well
Also in addition to hash and bho, I have used ginseng oil (gotvape ejuice) any oil will work in it too as long as its glycerin based
