Wow... I haven't been here in a while. Feels like coming home ;)

Anyway, I just thought I'd report that after sitting unused for over a year, my Ascent charged up and works just fine! Time will tell how well the batteries have actually held up; I imagine they'll be OK since they didn't go into deep discharge - they still had enough of a charge to power the unit on before I charged it, but I turned it right back off and put it on charge just to be safe.

Back after a long absence,(4.5 years). Haven't combusted in all that time, just haven't been on the FC forum.

I was a latecomer to the Ascent party having only bought my first one about a year ago or less, (5AA1). 6 weeks after buying it I went back and bought another one, that's how much I liked it. I usually fill it right up, lightly tamped, work my way up from anywhere between 175 to 210 Celsius over about 10 - 15 minutes. Love the big oven, I'm a fairly high tolerance user usually, so a selling point for me.

No problems with either of them. I alway use the 14mm gong, consider it mandatory. I slide it over the factory glass filter. Only recently I've been adding 2 or 3 irregular shaped garden pebbles to the load to experiment with a bit smaller loads, I don't find much difference in visible vapour production or effects.

One of them was driven hard for the first 5 or 6 months, the other one probably has about half as many hours on it. I don't use them every day at this point but usually one of them at least a couple times a week is about right. Can't foresee any reason for them not to remain on the roster

Easy to clean, dump out the oven, run a toothbrush over the inside faces and the glass filter, a light fingernail scraping of the two flat mating surfaces and sometimes a poke at the filter holes with supplied pick and all is good to reload. Glass parts get dumped in ISO when they start gumming up.

Thanks Davinci, A Classic. Glad to see that they're still being sold. I enjoy the timed cycles, wish they had of left that feature on the IQ rather than the questionable app.

I think over the last couple of months I actually read probably almost all of the 363 pages of this forum, or at least it seems like it....... Thanks Everybody, great info.

I'd just like to make a small message here telling all how the customer support for Davinci was GREAT!

I recently purchased my 2nd Ascent vape. I've had my first one for >2.5 years, with ZERO problems.
I decided to buy a 2nd one via an authorized seller in BC Canada. BTW, I live in Canada.
Vape came in the mail no problem, but after a few months it literally fell apart, almost like glue used in it
just gave up the ghost. The vape was NOT abused.

So obviously it was still warrantied (2 years). I contacted Davinci via email, and had to provide a video of the damage, and receipts. It took about a week, but they Authorized me to return for service to Ontario.
After a week I received an email saying I was receiving a new vape in the mail. No vape has to go over Canadian border lines.

Not sure why it just fell apart in the first place.

Regardless, the new one is working fine, and I sure hope it will last a long time like my original one has.

Thanks Davinci.

Hi all. Can I ask if anyone in Europe (or outside the US) has used the extended warranty deal - is it $50 for a complete refurbishment ? Will they replace glass, screens etc? How does shipping work? How does it perform after the makeover? I tried to PM the company rep that sometimes posts here but haven't had a response. Thanks in advance.

Does anybody know if anyone makes rubber end caps for the Accent to mask the stench? Rubber caps like the ones sold for the Pax.

mine fell apart also, but unfortunately was out of warranty and I was unwilling to ante up for an extended warranty. I decided to just cut my losses and move on to better built vaporizers.

I have resided in one of the Kingdoms of Southeast Asia for a bit more than 20 years. Some years ago it was not a problem to receive "mail order", but there now seems to be a number of businesses and corporations that either flatly refuse to deliver to The Kingdom, or will not send to a PO Box. As my home address is "un-named road"...a PO is the only option. DHL delivers, but is very expensive.
Thanks for asking.

I'm wondering if you're in the same Kingdom as I am...the Kingdom of Wonders. I too am in my 60s and resident here since '94.

I get different feedback on what type of grind to use for the Ascent. Some say coarse to avoid flakes from falling out the bottom and going up the mouthpiece others scream fine because its conduction. What is your preference ?

When I had an Ascent - before it went swimming - I ground it pretty course... Packing it "just right" was key.

I ended up grinding medium-fine, with some sort of screen on top.
@HammockGuru You're probably sick of people recommending the Vapcap but given your location and communication difficulties I reckon one or two carefully selected Caps would be handy to have around the house :peace:

So if I have a 5 yr old Ascent that has broken, I can buy the $60 warranty and send my Ascent in to have fixed? All the led's still come on but the oven doesn't heat up.

Is the $60 rebuild/repair offer still available for over the warranty period Accents ? I still use mine pretty regularly but today I noticed that the silicone right where it makes contact around the oven is beginning to break down (finally). Everything else about the unit(s) are still working like they did on the day I bought it so if possible I'd like to not trash it unless I really need to. Just a small chip scraped off at this point but I'm going to have to make a repair/dispose decision sometime in the near future.......

Pulled my Ascent out today. Been sitting in a box for a long time. Clicked the on button and fired right up. Figured it's on might as well pack a bowl. Well battery lasted long enough to get through the whole bowl. Now to try and find the gong attachment.

Hey Gang , I'm looking to resurrect my Ascent but I have no charger. Can someone tell me ,if I possible, where I may beg ,borrow or steal one. Is there some 3rd party outfit that sells something that will work or maybe a person with one that will sell me one ? Please let me know. Thanks

Any PSU outputting 9V, center pin positive, 1A or 2A should work. Get yourself an universal AC/DC brick with those interchangeable barrel connector tips and you should find the one you need in your kit. Just mind the polarity, center-pin positive, not the inverse, otherwise poof! Magic smoke etc.

Hello everybody! Sorry that I reopen this thread but after searching in the forum this one was the most similar to my problem. (And sorry for my english too)
I have a davinci ascent that's not working anymore. It turns on, but it doesn't heat up.
After several inconvenience they sent me a new device for free because they said it is a software issue.
The problem is that no matter what temperature I set, it turns to 000 in F or 430 in C. Reseting doesn't fix the it.
Is there a way to fix that? Like replacing the part or bypassing it?
Thank you for any comment in the matter.

Hey its me again. My old Ascent is working but I cracked the lower part of the glass stem right where the holes that sit atop the oven are. Anyone know where I can get a new one ? or how I can MacGyver this senior citizen ? Thanks
If your still looking , DaVinci still has glassware for the Ascent.

And there $59.00 warranty? Pay the $59 and they send you an Ascent! I have 2 lol!

The inevitable end of all things, death and decay, slow or destructive.
My Ascent failed about 18 months ago and has been in a box in a closet. Apparently the thermostat function as it combusted.
Yesterday, I bit the bullet and broke it into more than two pieces to reach the batteries for proper recycling.
A couple of screw drivers and brute force did the job, revealing details of interest but no photos.
I will offer the still functional charger to some sidewalk merchant with a blanket and collection of chargers for sale at the weekly street fair nearby.

All vapes die, the vapor-ist never wanes.

If you really like your Ascent, youi can get another for $59.00! Just go to DaVinci and buy the "warranty" and they'll send you an refurbed Ascent. Been using mine fir over a year now daily with no issues! And I'm a tech junky, I have 4 of the 5 Davinci's, An Argo, a Starry 3, A CFX and a CFX +, and a Focus Pro. The Ascent is still my favorite with the IQC second.
