I received my beta spacer today. My first test trial I used herb tightly packed with one spacer facing down with the holes on top. I received very little notable vapor. The herb browned evenly.
Then I tried using both spacers, with one holes down and the other holes facing up and tightly packed. I fit them together like an egg. I got noticeable vapor at 392 degrees not much on the lower temps. The vapor isn't as thick as the glass flowers though. I even tried a loose pack and fit them in the same way using the two and got some noticeable vapor but again not as thick as when using the glass flowers. I'm not saying that I didn't get medicated, because I did.
This does work as a spacer but it doesn't give huge clouds. They are somewhat awkward to use and I have small hands. I am adequately medicated.
Now I need to finish making dinner. We are having pork chops, apple sauce, salad and cauliflower with cheese sauce. I had a hard time typing this out, feeling no pain, now my adapter plug is messing up. I will send for another one. My unit is 18 months old. My adapter has had plenty use.
Here is a picture of my ABV and how I used the spacers together, those are 2 spacer in the pic. One was loosely packed the other tightly packed. The loosely packed load was spent after 5 min. The tightly packed load lasted 10 min and it was done. I felt I got thicker clouds with the tightly packed load, on the right. The spacers don't take any of the flavor away. Airflow wasn't restricted at all for me. I did go as high as 395 degrees but it was too harsh and I didn't see anymore noticeable vapor clouds.
EDIT
I continued to try to get more clouds by combining 1 spacer and a few of the flowers, but that kinda defeats the purpose. I did get a bit more clouds that way.
I got just as medicated using the Davinci spacer and that's the bottom line not the clouds.
Thanks Davinci for giving us all the opportunity to try out this new idea.
