Ascent Vaporizer by DaVinci

@Sativape > Yes me used to add ingestion via brownies which brought on very desired results

esp when combining combustion/ vaporization ~ only con: ,could not control effect of reduced

''metabolism" due to *indica ( 'increases' in body weight ) ,but slept like a baby

Thanks for the verry interesting ,informative tutorial :-)

Psst* when using sativa based product ,mania would push the bi-polar thru roof which does

not help my condition ~ if there were a way to intoxicate ( edibles ) w/o

sedative/ stimulation ,it would prolly do the trick ??

@silvercloud358,

With the cannapaste, you're not ingesting additional calories that the brownies contain.

I only vape Sativa dominant strains.

I wish I could provide more information about the effects that you're experiencing.

Maybe you could try making small cannapaste batches of different strains to see what works best for you?

I hope you find a formula to achieve the relief that you are searching for!

Do you have access to bubble?

Bubble bud in the Ascent got my combusting friends having a new found respect for vaporizers!!!

But ya ,it's not only calories ( sugar free brownies ) ,but the metabolic '"decrease"' creating

major caloric surplus ~

Also ,have tried bubble combo ,but me needs full BHO torque ( ie., wax/ shatters ) ~ after 53 +

years of almost round-the-clock smoking/ vaping/ ingestion me guesses times catching up ( if

only could detox for more than 48 hrs ,maybe ?? )

Will continue to experiment different strains for ingestion and possibly answer will arise ~

Thanks again for input ,it's appreciated :-)

@silvercloud358,

My friend needs to combine the effects of vaping bud+concentrates along with eating cannapaste.

It is a very easy process to make:
You should follow the instructions to the T!

Be very careful with how much you ingest.

I highly recommend using coconut oil because of how it solidifies and keeps a more homogenous state vs using an oil and things tend to separate and settle (requires mixing before taking).

I had a pea size amount recently and was blown away... very intense and long lasting.

My friend was very close to going back to combusting/dabbing until he starting eating the cannapaste.

Give it a shot! I hope it helps!

There is a started cannabis paste thread under medical thread.

If you do this remember to Decarboxylate your material.

I finally got some glass flowers (how long are the da Vinci glass spacers going to arrive?) and loved its function. I used to pack the full bowl (my first 2 vapes were pax and ascent-both with large bowls) and this worked great. I think I'm going to save a lot of mmj using these glass screens in my bowl.

Do you think these glass flowers will work better than spacers?

I don't use flowers nor spacers and get ample vapor with between 0.06g and 0.12g on average. For me the biggest change was when I fixed the buddy rim air leak. I never *ever* fill the bowl fully, I would end way too medicated and it would take half the battery capacity to complete!

Now maybe it's because I sip, or because I'm rather calm and don't shake the device while I use it, I really don't know. But when I tamp the load and make a flat puck, I get a 20 minutes session usually (sometimes only 15 mins) with the above mentionned quantity, and when I open the bowl to toss the ABV, the puck has the same shape and hasn't moved at all, it just turned brown and I dump it.

I'm not inventing it, just give it a try because I'm really puzzled when I see other members reports on this thread. We have the same device, the only difference is that I implemented the o-ring fix for the air leak and it's easy to do. Really, I don't understand if we have different expectations or if you are just doing it wrong somehow...

Buyer Beware : Me was hoping never to have to bash a company ,esp. one that

creates a fairly reliable product as Ascent ~ But ,recently my carbon fiber developed a

"button issue" ( 2 mos. old ) soo ,sent it in for repair ~ fortunately ,me thought ,had

purchased a 2nd unit ( stealth ) a couple mos. earlier for possible resale after using for

backup ~

To make a long story short ,unit was returned promptly properly repaired ,except that

there were 2 major scratches to bare metal on one side ,and 3 minor ,but permanent

scratches on other side ~

Being verry careful w/ my property ,was completely shocked after Alexis ( cst/ srvc ) tells

me that company is
not reponsible for units cosmetically damaged if *fotos of unit were not

provided prior to sending in for an
internal issue

Psst *...When my car is in for service ,and is returned cosmetically damaged ,dealer never

asks for pre-service fotos covering every inch of body

Fortunately ,in order to protect online debit consumer ,banks provide a merchant dispute

dept which will investigate to confirm while providing "provisional credit" during

investigation

Again ,the purpose off this text is to forewarn members of this
illogical company policy

Definitely drops reliability factor to
below acceptable ! !

...when I bring my vehicle in for service, they always do a walk around before they take it and mark any scratches or dents just like a rental agency does...guess many don't? But...they should...covers them and you.

I would take pics of any unit I was sending in for repair...just protects the both of you. Too litigious a world anymore...........................................................................................................unfortunately. :disgust:

If pix are required by DaVinci ,they should @ least provide a disclaimer for pix requirement and

not leave one hanging out to dry ~ IMO ,poor biz practice here

If I'm following it's not a DV requirement. They are suggesting it to back up your claim?

It's unfortunate there's a problem, of course, but they no doubt feel they didn't damage your unit and try to fake their way out of it. OTHO, some folks (not saying you......) might be tempted?

I'd like to say I hope it's quickly and acceptably resolved, but I guess that's not very likely at this point. Still, that's what I hope happens.

I know there's an element of foretelling the future here, but I think the take away lesson is if you want to file a claim for damage before and after photos are nice to have?

Good luck with it.

That's a good lesson because I eventually have to send in my mighty for repairs.

Ya ,me guesses damage was done somehow when tech fixed unit to vise/ jig and might hav

failed to put some type of insulation from said vise ~ all 5 scratches occurred on sides of

carbon fiber ( orig purchased 2nd unit a couple mos prior to incident ,and planned on reselling

2nd unit in near future ,since have no real need ; now that option is '"scratched"' )

If DV would place some kind of QC w/ repairs ( from what me understands ,this is not the 1st

time this happened ) ,there would be no need 2 scrutinize every square inch of vape prior to

sending in for repair

Thankfully my bank (WF) has already provided provisional credit to my account for full

amn't

The problem some of us have dealt with have been the herb flying around inside the bowl when we take a draw. The solution was to weigh it down and the spacer was born with the glass flowers. When the herb flies around it stays too cool and you can't get vapor. I don't like having to fill the bowl completely up to get a good vapor density.

I even use an o-ring around the top portion of my unit (top opening where mouthpiece inserts) to help with any leaks. I also have a unit from Oct 2013. It still runs like a top.

Sounds to me like they are requiring before photos to have been taken for any claim of cosmetic damage during warranty work by saying they arnt responsible if pictures wernt taken prior to sending it in. All I know is I will definitely be taking pictures of my ascent if I ever have to send it in for warranty work.

Yes I get that, and I don't know why I care, there's no single method to do it right. What matters most is that you guys are enjoying your device the way you like. :)

But it's also why I wondered if it's due to the fact I'm really sipping very slowly or that when I mean "tamp the load" I do it harder than what you guys ever tried (really it must look like a flat little green puck) but apart maybe from one or two debris there and there at times, I got strictly nothing flying and it keeps its integrity the entire session.

Now as I said many times there can be some drawbacks like the "rising puck" problem if you shake the device or draw too hard, but it doesn't happen to us anymore at home (again perhaps because we are careful when handling the device) Last time it happened it was because I made a friend test it and he handled the device like it was his cellphone or something, waving it around as he was speaking etc...

Remember to ISO wipe the black silicone next to the bowl when you get your ascent. A few burn offs might not be necessary but I would. Flavor is excellent and carolking recommends Eds tnt because it increases the vapor/air ratio. I bought the 14mm wpa off ascent and it does the same. I like the regular mouthpiece for long sipping sessions. Less clouds but very smooth.

IMO a WonG or GonG works best with the Ascent. My unit is from Oct 2013 and I continued to have some air leaks so the GonG or WonG works better for me. It seemed to have a better draw and less airy. The newer models might be different. You will have to decide what works best.

Thanks for the help guys.

I saw that Ed makes a stem for the Ascent. That's really cool, but isn't one of the biggest things about this vaporizer that it's an all glass air path? How does Ed's stem affect taste?

ISO wipe the black silicone by the bowl, ok. By burn off, do you mean running dry? If so, for how long?

Sold my ascent recently. Its not that great of a vape at all and barely portable when it comes to refilling ect on the go.

Its big and clunky, the bowl size is huge and the clouds are tiny. Dealing with spacers ect is just flat out dumb especially in terms of portability.

Would give this vape solid 4 out of 10 if my opinion matters to anyone. There are tons of better vapes out there, just want to give the heads up cause you might be missing out if you think this vape is great.

OK. In the RMA email used for ALL repairs it specifically asks for pictures of the unit.
Here is a list of things we need for an RMA and this should have been emailed to you:
Include full name and address

Description of issue (with pic if you can)

Contact number

Color of unit

Name of website/store where purchased, include copy of receipt. (Purchase Price)

Unit serial number, starts with \1AA1, – (should be able to find it on box or below unit)

Now I have to ask, how was it shipped and how was it received? Was the packaging possibly the problem? We're more than happy to help you out, I apologize for all the inconvenience.

@Sonics420 for real?

I have a PNP and Arizer Air and Haze in addition to my Ascent and I find that the Ascent the easiest to unload.

Just swivel the bowl, poke to loosen up the ABV and dump it out:

Clean out the bowl with:
3614_us_r_8ct_12-23.png

Then fill the Ascent bowl straight from a small tube stash container or little baggy.

The fact that the bowl is big makes it even that much more convenient to me to fill.

Easier than the other vapes and due to the size, less fill up frequency.

The shape too makes to so portable because it is flat.

As for the vapor production, I make sure to grind super fine, super dray herbs and pack tight.

I gave up on any spacers because I use my ascent for multisessions while on the go and a full load is necessary.

The Arizer Air has become my indoor vape now.

Big up to @BarnBoy !!! I use an ever so tiny drop of nicotine free ejuice when absolute discretion is required. I just end up huddling with the e-cig hipsters and try my best to blend in while I get ripped!!!
Ahhh life is great at times!
