What do you call two SOLOs for one person?

Prepared. And/or 'generous' depending on if you loan them out or not.

I also like to think 'soloing' as a right of passage for pilots, a statement of self reliance and mastery of and dependance upon the necessary tool. Fun question, but it's probably as likely it's the first word the owners new granddaughter said as much anything else. 'A rose by any other name'?

This is the newest scientific research on vaporizers, I've been waiting for this!

Source: http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0147286

"Lowest recoveries between 48.5–58.5% for cannabinoids from cannabis were obtained with the DaVinci Vaporizer® and the Volcano Medic®, whereas the Plenty Vaporizer® released 56.1–66.8% of total cannabinoids into the vapor. Best recoveries were obtained for the Arizer Solo® with 70.0–82.7%. The better the recovery the less drug (cannabis or cannabinoids) is needed to deliver a defined therapeutic dose to a patient. "

"Another aspect is the reliable and constant release of cannabinoids into the vapor to guarantee uniformity of the dosage, reflected by the RSD values obtained for the different devices. All electrically-driven vaporizers showed small variabilities with RSD values ≤ 13%. Excellent reproducibility was found for the Plenty Vaporizer® (RSD ≤ 6.5%). It is also important to note that the design of the vaporizers had an impact on the yield of cannabinoids released with the vapor. Devices such as Volcano Medic®and Plenty Vaporizer® providing rather cold vapor for a mild, less airways-irritating inhalation revealed a smaller recovery of cannabinoids in the vapor compared to Arizer Solo®. However, this device, designed to release a maximum amount of cannabinoids into the vapor and lacking a cooling tube, produces a rather hot vapor, which may be less tolerated by patients."

I miss my solo...
Thinking hard on reuniting with a new one from Ebay, its sooo cheap.
I would try Air, but the deal for the solo...is just nothing...

Just need to decide because I can get an acsent today with no hassle...

Both of those vapes (Solo and Ascent) have been copied and there are counterfeits around. If you buy on E-bay you may save a few $ but may buy a fake. Buyer beware!

There are lots of legit places where you can get a Solo or Ascent for a good / great deal.

hello,

who has experience with these O-rings?
they are supposed to hold the stem in place snuggly.
i could imagine it to be nice with a gong so you can pull the solo as a carbhole.

Hello,

I do have those on both SOLOs I own down here.

Yes, during the first months I used the o-rings they do hold the stems quite snuggly. Afterwards (like almost a year later) they still hold the stems but "not so snuggly"
Another yes. I do pull the solo from the bubbler all at once, and the gong stays attached (as to clean the remaining vapor inside the bubbler).

I would recommend these O-Rings as a priority accessory.

Cheers!

Are you sure ?
This seems legit... http://www.ebay.com/itm/2016-NEW-AR...ER-SILVER-FREE-SHIPPING-GRINDER-/121873467240

EDIT: never mind, they are not shipping it anyway...

BTW, can someone explain the difference between PVHES vortex and the regular?
Thanks.

Lots of folks have tried them, all totaled I sent out close to 100 sets in my personal '4/20 celebration a few years back. Based on the success of the idea, some Dealers started offering them so LOTS of folks have used them I think?

They can add restriction since normally air leaks past the seal, so I 'notch' them typically this way:
CApRNuG.jpg

Pinching them makes the cord bulge out which I cut off with a razor blade. Sometimes I put the notices 'on the bottom' of the ring, not the inside. They still grip this way but don't change the draw restriction.

And no, they are not 'to hold the stem in place', if you check back you'll see the goal was to stop the bent stem from rotating. The maker says loose stems are part of the design, it's not a handle.

OF

Edit: It's also worth mentioning that while there was only one body when the idea was developed (therefore all rings fit fine) that has changed over time. There are basically two thicknesses of caps out there:
nm3vf41.jpg

This means you have to 'fit' the ring carefully or (if it's too snug) you can break the tabs on the bottom of the unit that holds the chassis in place (you basically push the works out the bottom). There are two thicknesses of ring to try (sorry, I don't have the numbers handy) and in some cases you have to sand the ring down a bit. In no case put more than maybe 1/8 turn on the cap past solid contact. Guys seem inclined to gronk down on the cap to bulge the ring to 'really grip the stem'.......the long term results are poor. Pipes can sell you a kit of parts to repair the broken tabs on the base should you go this way. The idea is the ring grips the stem on it's own tight enough to stop rotation and the cap grips the ring against the top of the oven tight enough so it doesn't rotate......no more.

Take is slowly and understand what's going on is my advice. "I got it off the web" is likely to fail you here. There's a reason Arizer didn't include this in their design I think?

Do you need these O-rings to clear your bubbler when using with the SOLO ?
I mean i want to pull the 18mm out of the bubbler as a carbhole-effect.
this does only work with the o rings, right ?

@Archaicrevival Not that new to us here. Nice to remind us how good the solo really is.
Have the rings, no need for em.

My SOLO is a OLD one and the seal makes a big difference for me.
I use a bunch of water setups but sometimes dry in a PHVES VORTEX is satisfying!

When you lift the Solo and GonG off the bubbler to clear it, grab it by the GonG not the Solo. If you only hold on to the Solo, there is a good chance the Solo will come off the stem and the GonG will still be in the glass joint of your bubbler. Or the hot stem will fall out into your lap while you're clearing the bubbler.

The o-rings do not always stop loose stems from falling out. Especially once the o-ring has been stretched a few times and broken in from use.

Thanks.
The vortex has a "vortex chamber" that's supposed to smooth out the hits. And the glass is thicker. It's made to work well with higher temperatures like setting 6 or 7.

Great tips and tricks from the pros.
thank you very much.

I prefer the stems from the Air. I like the plastic mouthpiece. I don't use rings at all anymore. The Air stem plays well with water tools.
Air%20Tip.jpg

you are using a 18mm to 14mm Adapter and placing the stock solo stem directly in the d020 ?

I am using the glass mouthpiece that comes with the Arizer Air in the Solo. And when I take it off or put it on, it is second nature to press or "lean" a finger against the glass tube, which keeps it (the glass tube) in place in the Solo.

You can do it with a Solo stem ( I wrap a rubber band), too. It is just that I prefer the lower center-of-gravity of the Air stem (and the mouthpiece).

My SOLO is one of the old ones.

Are your SOLO's the new logic ones?

I think I'll keep my old one and have the batteries changed?

The AIR tip broke when I opened the package! (never got to try it)?

Unbreakable GonG I make for myself.

I bought mine over two 1/2 years ago or so. If a newer one is out, I'll get it soon as I brake one. The Air is a great little portable, too. I like being able to have charged, spare batteries if I'm on extended out-and-abouts.

RUDE BOY

Space is the Place
one thing I love about my solo is I can go months without touching it and pick it up and do a session with no need to charge it as long as I put it away charged. Just grabbed mine this morning and turned her on and Wa-Lah there she is with 5 lights of battery power just like when I put it away after my last session in December, No other vape I've owned will hold a charge for even half that time.
Pretty frickin' amazing me thinks.

I think maybe I'm freaked out to get medicated on the fly?

The SOLO I use most of the day.
CANNABIS makes me read fast!

I was going to get a AIR however the SOLO is perfect for me.
At night I use a COMA inducer.

I have a few vaporizers in my arsenal.

The SOLO I use the most.

I tried to smoke a bowl and almost lost a lung.
Vaporizing taste better and the EFFECT perfect.

When I go on long trips I use a invert-er.
WAX PENS are stealthy for out and about.

But hey if you can vape in the open cool!

@ataxian i was thinking since the stems stay in the Air more solid more so than the Solo, I thought maybe less breakage. The Solo stem wabbles more. It doesn't bother me but I thought it might help in your case. I know, the Solo is pretty awesome.

The batteries could be a hassle for you.

Edit
Regular stems are the stock stems that the Solo comes with.
The PVHES are mouthpiece/gongs for the Solo and the Air that have added slits along the sides for added air flow.
The Vortex stem is also a PVHES mouthpiece/stem too but a different style - it is one inch longer. Length does make the difference how it cools the heat. It's has a vortex pillow between the herb and the air path. The thicker glass takes a little longer to heat up.

Check out the different Solo and Air mouthpiece @PlanetVape.

I didn't see that all this was already addressed - never mind.
