Arizer Solo

Dr. Soxhlet

SOLO Vaporized Cannabis is my Best Medicine
I live in UK so I am limited by prohibition and paranoia so I keep to 3 plants or less.. it's a ballache having to grow most of the time to keep just me supplied...

I can comfortably pull 4oz per plant from most strains though, and I can do that every 4 months, so I can't really complain...
10 Oz every 4 month's is my target...

What I'm saying is that it is possible to supply yourself on these limits, if a little inconvenient...

I'm sure you will find a way to feed your solo....
I use weed medically. I go through a lot, about 1/8th a day just in the Solo and other vaporizers. I am angry that the medical marijuana distribution system has been dismantled and handed over to commercial stores that have no idea what they are doing.

I had a weird experience yesterday. I was sitting next to my green house a few feet from the highway. I had been mowing the lawn and stopped to take a Solo break.
As I'm sitting there enjoying the herb, I look across the street and spot a sheriffs' deputy staring at me. Being in a legal state I was more annoyed than concerned, but I slowly put it down anyway. He than walked away.
I look forward to a time when the rest of America and the world are in a similar situation.

I got an easy flow 18mm gong from Jolly Olde England and it's the mutt's nuts.
Downside is number 7 on a bubbler saps power fast so maybe it's still special and not for always, and I'm a little leery of the tooling making it fragile. I'm getting 3 - 4 good rips then it's clear. I also wish it had a handle to empty while it's hot.

been with the solo for about 20h.

what i learned so far.
it can produce clouds from level 5 on upwards.
Level 6 is instant cloud but only 3-4 puffs.

on level 4 you can sip on it with a MFLB technique approx 30 draws !

the flavor i cant compare since it is my first convection portable.
and unlike my beast verdamper at home it is filtered through water.

my stem is very loose and the herb falls out of it into the heating chamber.
thinking about adding screens.

what are the highlights the SOLO community has to offer. accesory wise.
already ordered a d020 bubbler.

i shorter stem with a snug fit would be nice.
and a whip adapter similar to the gongs.
any suggestions .

I often look forward to water vaping with my Solo .
So getting a bubbler would have been my advice for you .
I believe the D020 has an 18mm female fitting , you'll need a
18mm male Gong to attach to the bubbler . You can buy them
from PV , PIU , and Vapefiend or maybe your LVS .

I've used the Cloud Evo whip adapter for the Solo .

I realize you bought a used Solo , but you should be able
to achieve clouds between 2 - 4 . Maybe try heat soaking the
stem for a bit before hitting it . How's your oven chamber ?
Clean the resin stains if any including the side walls , use a
dental pick/ needle to clear the 4 holes in the oven .

Use a q-tip soak with a little iso , push up against an
old used screen to scrub/swirl the oven chamber clean .
Hold the Solo Upside Down , so Not to let any iso seep downwards .

re; screens @al bundy posted this for us .

No2 screen, Ebay 1/2 inch dome screen, ebay 1/2 inch dome flattened, home made dome, home made dome.
Home made ones I used 5/8 screen and shaped and trimmed them.

ebay Dome inserted like a basket

Ebay Dome inserted like a dome

Flattened Ebay dome cuts stem in half and no herb stuck around sides. I use this the most no stirring needed at all.

And No2 screen in mouth end of stem.

I use them in all my solo/Air stems, keeps bud out of mouth and when it clogs I stick it in stem and vape it. looks fudged up but fits in perfectly.

You can make the screens shape them over a sharpie and trim.
I made some with a deep well socket and a drilled hole in a 2x4 and just hammered it through
the softer the screen the easier it is to make.
But the stiffer the screen the longer it lasts and keeps its shape. The Ebay ones are nice and stiff.
@Ratchett was looking into making a screen press also.
but if you dont want to make em yourself the Ebay ones that @Sinclue came across are a great deal as long as you dont lose them you'll have more than you will need.

Ebay domed link, you can ask for any amount I bought 10 and got 12.

Loose stems are part of the plan. It's in the design and not a fault, the maker has said as much several times. They don't do warranty repair/replacements for this? They expect the stem to fall out if turned over, and say we should too.

The loose herb thing is easy to deal with if your bud is good enough. Try it 'Hamster style'. Load the stem, then keeping it upright invert the Solo and lower it over the stem so gravity keeps everything in place. Then let it heat inverted and take a few hits like a hamster drinking from his (inverted) water bottle. This will fuse the Trichomes together into a single mass for a load and you can turn it back over again and finish 'human style'.

Enjoy it, it's been well thought out and tested to deliver the goods. You made a wise choice.

buyers remorse rises.

It almost certainly was. Solo is extremely popular, IMO for good reason, it earned it's reputation.

You've had it what? One whole day, give or take? Give it a chance. Like with people, sometimes better to get to know them before you start picking on the parts you don't like right off?

Looked at another way, it's hard to come up with a good suggestion for the better portable you should have bought instead......units costing many times more included.

Relax and enjoy, Solo is good at that.

How much do you put in the stem?
Do you pack it full?
Thats a lot for me.

No clouds under setting 5.
four holes inside in heating element are not clogged i think

I take a slow draw maybe 10-12 seconds.

Was it such a wise choice?
buyers remorse rises.
Are you kidding?

Buy a pack of ZIG-ZAG'S and call it a day.

I'm on my 3rd SOLO and I love.

Kind of like drive a PINTO then a 911.

I have a lot of vaporizer's, however the SOLO I use the most.

I would just smoke joints all day if I was a young gun like you!
VAPORIZING is so FLAVOR.
EFFECT beyond reason!

You'll be fine! You can put as much as you want in, there are no rules, try half. I usually fill it but don't pack it down, just lightly tamp enough so it stays. I use a short stem with a tip, sometimes a 90 degree adaptor in the bubbler and a whip to the solo, tube stretched over the end of a bent stem. The new gong on my D020 is excellent and seems to use up the good stuff most efficiently, but as I said uses a lot of power. You'll get accustomed to turning the solo upside down every time you want to insert or remove a stem so the load doesn't fall in the chamber.

What is it that evocted this response?
I'm just messing with you!
I joke all day long.

Sorry if I come off the wrong way?

What I meant to say is the SOLO I use the most.

I started at level 3 then 4 is what works for me.

When my cure was some moisture 5 with fewer hits is my spot.

Sometimes I just sip.
If I need a rip a use something else.

D020 is a good piece with a SOLO.
18mm PHVES GonG from www.planetvapes.com

Potables = Bubblers like a D020 can size.
Plug-ins = Waterpipes

That's normal. It's not heating up unless you turn it on. The red "HEAT" LED flashes when it's heating up. The numbered LEDs will light up to indicate battery level while charging. No lights = empty battery, and 7 = fully charged. It also flashes the battery level in this manner when you turn it on. The green LED will stop flashing and become solid when the battery is charged fully. To prolong the battery life, stop charging when the battery indicator is at 7, but before the blinking green light goes solid. This will double the number of charges the battery will take before it wears out.

I did not mean you two

I did not understand to buy zig zags abd call it a day.

What are zig zags?
Cigarettes?
Because i said no clouds appear under level5?

I have a verdamper and its laaarge. Too large.
This unit operates betwee. 190 and 205 celsius.
So i am used to allway have visible vapor. And i dont fill the dampet with more at a time than i put in the solo.

I dont know if to further invest in the solo (gongadapter 20€)
is the right way to go.
I paid 80€ for the unit.

Zig Zags are the most common type of rolling papers used here. The default. Ataxian thinks you should stop sweating it or go back to combustion I gather. I tend to agree with him, just in other terms. Give it a chance, you've got a modest investment (cost wise) in a very well respected vape, perhaps 'best of class' in fact. Give it a chance, I'm betting you too will fall in love with this fine unit. There's 35,000 posts on this thread.......that's a LOT of happy campers.

Relax and enjoy, Solo is an excellent companion for that. Experiment around and see what it has to offer. Be objective. Gather facts before letting an emotional response like "buyer's remorse" taint that? Be a pity to miss a good bet you know.

I was going to suggest reading over the Solo manual.
It's really not a difficult vaporizer to use. It should be way easier
to use than the Launch Box.

You can use a loose full load in the oven or say half full or less,
the amount is up to you.

There are many happy owners. Is the draw an issue
for you? If it is you can tailor your unit to fit your
needs. Try using the PVHE stems and GonGs through
Planetvape they have additional slits along the sides
that help with added air flow. They are kinda expensive
and expensive to ship.

Read over about 20 pages of the thread to get yourself up to speed.
Do some searches regarding questions that you may have.

Temp 4 and 5 are my fav temps. Do what works for you. A slow and
steady draw works best. Drawing too fast won't work with the Solo.

Sorry if you are a disappointed customer. There are plenty of happy
ones on this thread. If the Solo isn't for you, you can sell it on the
classifieds here on FC without too much trouble.

Good luck.

Anway, for my standards i used quite a bit of herb to fill 2 or three stems today.
Half full lightly packed.

That is pretty subjective. We have a guy here who consumes an entire gram per month. Yes, half an ounce will cover him for the year with some to spare. And we have a guy who rolls 7 gram blunts, a few times a day. Some MMJ types need a LOT of medicine.

A stem holds maybe 1/4 gram (or a bit less), assuming say 16% herb that's 40mg of THC total. Solo will extract nearly all of it (true convection vapes like Volcano, HA, VG and so on can squeeze a small bit more but it's as good or better than most. You have to put it in to get it out. You might try domed screens, I'd say most of us have by now, many use them routinely (I'm guilty here). That reduces the load to about 1/8 gram and is 'about right' for what I want in a session so I can start with a fresh stem.

Hang in there, it really is worth it. CK would never steer you wrong, unlike Ataxian. BTW, whatever you do, don't let Ataxian near your glass.........

I love to break glass in small pieces.
The GonG's I've broke?
Stem's I was breaking 1 per week!

Added a 113 seal under the cap and improved performance and reduced breakage!

If you have glass I can break it for you!

Greeks invite me to break glass.

At least I'm good at something!

DUTCH TREAT taste amazing & the effect is soaring!

Let's break glass!

Nice words
Thank you

You are right.
For example : i dont like the shiny buttons on arizer products.
Looks cheap.

You bought a ' used ' Solo .
We do not know the usage history ; age ; Good/bad battery
practices and even the owner of said vape . ( Knockoffs )

I don't doubt your experiences .
It's too bad you couldn't have tested one beforehand .
A brand new Solo wouldn't behave like that .

Charge the battery up and try again and let us know .

It took a little time for me to start getting results, Mr Sifter give yourself a week or 2 and see if things improve. I like to pre-heat to 6 for a couple of minutes then turn it down to 5 or sometimes 4, then back to 6 for the last one to make sure it's all cooked. When I started I used 6 all the time so I could see clouds but then changed. I don't use any less than when I was smoking, oh well.
