Well that kinda sucks for me! BOTH of mine are looser than loose! They wiggle and would fall out upside down or even if you just turned the unit on its side. So this is a confirmed inconsistency of quality in the glass pieces. I do love the unit, but for $300 and Arizer's known quality this is a disappointment.

As far as I know, these are blown glass pieces. Expecting precise consistency is futile. Not sure why you'd expect otherwise, given that no two cyclone bowls are identical, for example.

I've never ever once had a problem with a cyclone bowl being too loose or tight in the 30+ bowls i've gone through over the last 4 years or so.

I understand that it's not a precise science, but with your theory that means that those glass pieces might come too big and not fit, or fit too tight and break, etc.

Regardless, I would MUCH rather have them fit snug, than as loose as mine are. I'm really curious what other user's glass pieces are like. Otherwise I will try to make a video.... but just imagine putting it in with zero effort and it just wiggles around. Quite hard to use one hand when it's loose...always need two. Forget vapor bonging as the glass would fall out when I turn it upside down :( I'm really jealous after seeing the youtube vid... i would if arizer would exchange the pieces for me.

Now i'm starting to wonder if i'm the odd one out? This is quality control...if they can't blow them consistent than they should check them through quality control and include the best ones that ARE snug. I'm not disappointed in the unit at all, just the 2 pieces that it came with that are a pain to use. Even if just one fit right i'd be happy....but both are as loose as a $20...well you know where i'm going...

Either way, hit up Arizer and they should help you out. Even though there may be 'inconsistencies' in the blown glass, the product should still work and function properly. If, as a result of a bad glass piece, your vape doesn't work...I would expect Arizer to correct the situation.

I will contact them. The unit works perfect, but if the glass doesn't fit properly then imo it's not working 100% correctly. I'm sure those glass pieces are worth $30+ so I don't wanna just buy new ones and guess they will be better. Again, if your pieces were loose and you couldn't vapor bong and you see that other people are and creating huge milky hits you'd be jealous too! lol

On another note, on the vaporpedia page it says:

$299 "Arizer does not permit price reductions by authorized dealers"

This is not true. The Friendly Stranger in Toronto I believe is Arizer's biggest retailer and are authorized and sell it for $275+tax.

Just watched one of the vids and noticed how nicely the glass "snapped" into place. Both my glass pieces are pretty loose.... just wanted to get an idea what other Solo owners glass pieces fit like. I think i'd much prefer the snug fit. This is the first quality inconsistency that I have noticed so far. Actually, also after unscrewing the cap, I noticed those tiny plastic retainer clips aren't really seated correctly either.
I would consider both mine to be a tight fit. One slightly tighter than the other. Maybe even a little too tight for my liking.

Yeah, you would think the solo's glass would be on par with their past units, but doesn't seem to be... :/ I mean, they wouldnt even have to change how they make the glass for the solo, just have more quality control to check for fit, before packaging the units for shipping...But, they would probably be better off slightly re-dseigning the bowl all together...with an easy GONG optional attachment, and the option to have a screen setup, as some of the solo users have posted recently.

Just my :2c: You'd think that Arizer of many companies, would be a little more meticulous when inspecting units pre-shipping.

I admit that some of the inconsistencies and "workarounds" and discoveries here have me concerned on this unit...
But in fairness I will say that on my standard "go to" vape, the SSV, there is variation to heater covers.. and if you see and help folks change many units, you find variation here too.

If you check the Extreme threads you'll find lots of people commenting on loose/wobbly cyclone bowls, including me. You're right in that none of them are so loose that they don't work. Additionally, the interior of cyclone bowls is even more inconsistent, as evidenced by the number of people who have to trim the screen so that it will sit properly. I've needed to do that for two of the last six cyclone bowls.

I agree with your preference for a tighter fit and that it'd be worth contacting Arizer to see what they have to say.

That's my fault. I thought I'd changed that. It should say (and it now does) what it already said further down the page, namely that Arizer doesn't permit authorized dealers to advertise discounts. Thanks for pointing out the error.

Holly shit, how did you guys go through so many cyclone bowls? Think i bought one extra and the tough-bowl, never had an issue with one breaking. But, i guess i dont use the E to much anymore.

Rockwise shipped today, and early tracking came. Very nice. The used UPS, which was also very nice. Really looking forward to getting this one in hand.

I think I read on here (its possible I dreamed it) that they intentionally made the bowls on the EQs wobble a bit, probably to avoid people getting the glass stuck and breaking the heater covers. I seem to remember my old E being snugger.

anyway this new solo looks pretty sweet. can't wait to try one

After a week of using the thing, it's time for a review! :)

Pros:
-Very efficient and easy to use, you don't need much herb to get you big cloud, probably same or little bit more than a pd stem, all I need is 4 or 5 hits to get me lifted, and I have pretty high tolerance.

-Taste is amazing due to the all glass/ceramic air path.

-Digital temp control with LED indication.

-Can be used with one hand, while reading, driving..

-Small, and portable* ; it's actually smaller than a can of redbull.

Con:

-I've noticed battery life is only 1 hr - 1.5 hr max when vaping at setting '3'. The juice still last me through a day since I've cut down a lot.But it would be nice if the battery actully last 3 - 4 hours like some site claim.

-No carrying case. It should include a carrying case for the glass stem since it's marketed as a portable vape.

-*The unit itself fits in a pocket with no problem. But since it's quite heavy due to the large battery and ceramic heat exchange, it can be uncomfortable to walk around with this thing in your pocket all day.

Tips: inserting a curved screen onto the herb chamber on the glass stem greatly improves air flow and the whole vaping experience!!

The bottom line: Worth the $300, and makes vaporizing much easier on the go. But I hope future model can hold more juice with newer battery technology.

You did read that on here but it was speculation. We should stop talking about cyclone bowls now and get back to the Solo.

I'd like to comment. You still couldn't tip my 'snug' fitting one upside down without it likely falling out. My more wobbly one produces the exact same vapor to air ratio. I've picked up a trick, which is to tip it into the corner of the bowl that does not have an airflow hole, to the back and left, for the optimal amount of heated airflow hitting your herbs. I find my self using my less snug one lately, just as it was the one I coincidentally slid the dabuddha tubing back on after a iso soak. I actually don't really see a benefit to the one that fits very closely over my other one, and I'm sure none of them they send out are skinnier than a certain tolerance

I agree that the vapor would be the same between the two, but I disagree that there isn't a benefit to the snug one. I have a pretty hard time using one hand, and it's actually impossible with some things that would be possible with a snug fitting one. Vapor bonging would be the biggest benefit. Regardless, when you buying a product, it should be the same as the one your friend, neighbour, etc bought! That is product inconsistency and should have been caught in quality control. Luckily it's the accessory, and not the unit itself. Maybe my glass is alot looser than yours cuz it's pretty damn wobbly! I think I do find an advantage of the looser fit though... I can kinda turn and "rock" the glass to increase airflow and reduce milkshake effect.

I totally agree. Inconsistency in a $300 product is not acceptable. Especially when you want it to be shipped across half the globe, as in my case. This is probably the only worry holding me back from ordering the solo. Otherwise it seems to be early the perfect portable vape.

A question to the solo users: How bad is the milkshake effect as compared to the Vapir Mini? Unfortunately thats the only vape I have to compare that has the effect (and its terribly hard to draw from it).

Never used the Vapir but really the airflow isn't that bad. It's not like on the Extreme and sometimes I think i'm not getting any vapor pulled through but then i'm shocked by the clouds! Lol And if you've read through the posts some people are using screens in their glass to increase the airflow by not clogging the 2 little holes.

You're right that for $300 and no inc. useable a/c adapter, case, etc. it should be near damn perfect. And it is... i'm sure Arizer reads these posts and no doubt the glass may get better....i'm sure a new version of the Solo may only be a year or 2 away anyways. Don't let the glass inconsistency bother you... i'm still ECSTATIC about the Solo! When the glass comes out maybe they will have 2 types: loose and snug. And just like my girls, i like em snug! lol

just wondering, which color did u guys get? I personally got the black one ( for extra stealth)

....

And, anyone else experience 1 - 1.5 hour max battery life? :(

Why smoke and die, when you can vape and fly?
My Solo arrived yesterday. First impressions: Good-looking, beautifully engineered, solid, cast-aluminium construction, thick glass inhalation tubes (that fit loosely and don't, sadly, 'click' into place.) The unit is easy to set up and use. Compared to the elegant iolite, it seems expensive, but the iolite is plastic, verging on flimsy, and the thermostat isn't adjustable. In my provisional opinion, the extra cost is probably justified.

Verdict: So far, so good. More later. :2c:

Just ordered my Silver one from Rockwise. Shipping UPS these days. FC10 code workded for me (US customer)...definitely sold me on the purchase.
I'll be interested to see how it fits in with my little Vapo herd.
Love these forums.

Had my Extreme for a couple of years...still using original bowl (two replacements gathering dust). Can't imagine going through 30...hope he realizes he can empty them and reuse them?:) Or maybe they're like Vodka shots getting smashed in the fireplace after use?;)

I find with a screen in the unit, and using it drawing from the bat directly without a water filter, there is almost no 'milkshake' or restrictive effect. You can comfortably inhale a little faster than a normal breath of air, and get nice large clouds.

Once again in regards to the 'loose' fitting bats they're intended to be! I honestly do not see what the issue is, it's really easy to use with one hand just tip it so the mouth piece spins to you and then suck. It would seem they are intended to wiggle, especially as there is a corner with no airflow hole to tip it in. I got a freakishly fat one by sheer luck, and I don't try and tip the thing upside down. It honestly doesn't affect use and I haven't used my fat one in a long time, for no good reason. They are the same.

lol actually it probably wasn't 30, but close to it.... broke about 1/2 dozen over the last 4-5years. Reason for so many bowls is that I have had the v-tower, extreme, and a bunch of eq's. I used to buy and sell these things a bit when I was trying out tonnes of vapes. I'm a little OCD that way :) If you only knew how many elbows I have broke! lol

Back to the Solo..... mine is all silver.
