- Would an hour's/hour-and-a-half's worth of run-time off a single charge allow one to use this vape about 20 times before having to recharge? That is heating it from cold to max temperature and finishing off a fully packed bowl, at a moderate pace, each time. I'm skeptical. Would be great to get feedback in this regard, even though the pace at which one finishes a fully packed bowl will differ from user to user.[/*]
Don't forget that if you use it until the battery is below 30% regularly the battery life will be a few months rather than a few years. The best thing to do is assume that 30-40% is dead and never let it go below that level, unless you don't mind buying a new $100 battery every few months. There should be no reason why you would have to get it below 30% in any case, there are power outlets everywhere. I plug mine back in after every use so my battery rarely gets below 5 lights. If you're talking about going on camping and draining the battery fully once, that won't be as bad as draining it below 30% regularly, but for as long as the charge is under 30% or so, irreversible damage to the battery is in progress.

What does piss me off is the 12 min. auto shut off! Sure it's convenient, but like the EQ it would be even more convenient if that option was available to turn off! Sometimes I don't want it turning off on its own, and i'm sure the a/c adapter would solve that but i'm talking portability. I like to be in control of when it turns off, regardless of battery life.
Another thing I am noticing is that my pulls are dropping the temp, and it takes a while to get it back up. I try to draw slow, but even still the temp starts to drop a bit and the only way to solve the problem is simply to wait. Not a huge deal, but still.
Again, this portable continues to impress for its purpose, but does in no way replace the EQ.
I agree the auto off can be annoying, but I prefer this occasional annoyance than forgetting it on which would break the battery forever if there was nothing to turn it off. Once a lithium battery is below a certain charge, it can never be charged again. I think they should at least have made it 15 or 20 minutes. I'm normally done in 1-2 power cycles anyway unless I'm doing something else and forgetting to use it.
I'm also quite sure the AC adapter will not disable the 12 minute power off, that would require more complex programming of the software/OS that runs the vaporizer for it to detect the power source and change the power off value accordingly, it's practically guaranteed they didn't go through the trouble of doing that.
I did notice slight drops when inhaling but they are minor and it recuperates quickly. You can always just set it one level higher if it's falling too much when you inhale. But slower inhales reduce this and produce a denser vapor so I prefer to do that.
I have to disagree that it doesn't replace the EQ, I won't be missing my EQ whatsoever, though it was in a way an improvement over the Volcano I had, I had to take it apart nearly weekly for internal cleanings or it stopped working, and though it made visible vapor, it seemed to have much less effect than the Solo's vapor. In addition to more powerful vapor, I no longer have a drawer half filled with EQ accessories I'll never use, there's no more tube for me to knock or sit on nearly breaking the EQ several times a week, no more wires keeping my vape leashed to my bedside table (and I ran the wire behind all the furniture so I couldn't just unplug it and take it somewhere else), and no more 15 minute preheats.
To me the Solo is all the good of the EQ, minus all the bad. It's a much improved EQ in my eyes. My EQ has been packed back in its box ever since I got the Solo.
