Just buy a second Solo! I always have one ready to go!! Takes charge while using to a whole new level.

Love it! 'Charge over there, use over here' does take it to a whole new level.

You buy a portable with it's higher cost and power limited performance to get away from cords seems sort of a step backwards, somehow, even though I will use the 'true PA' feature of older Solos if I'm sitting at the computer which already has 'cords everywhere'. 'Use while charging' makes even less sense to me with Air, given that means dealing with the cord coming out at an awkward spot at a bad angle.

Being able to take your portable more than six feet while using it is a nice feature IMO.

PIU Pays for shipping back if the unit needs to be replaced. They will send an RMA via computer with a shipping label. No paying for shipping either way. I've had very good service. There hasn't been a single time that I've had a complaint. Randy always takes care of you.

I couldn't agree with you more, and Randy goes above and beyond. Oh do I miss the days when the canadian dollar actually meant something. It felt weird, buying from Randy cheaper than my very own PV, but it seems like the tides have changed, and for those on a tight vape budget such as myself, purchase from canada now to take advantage of the dollar. Recently i've had a few instances where I now honestly don't even want to cross border shop. Sometimes the taxes and fee surprises make what you think is a great deal, a bad one.

Being able to take your portable more than six feet while using it is a nice feature IMO.

This is absolutely HUGE for me. And interestingly enough, power NEVER goes out for as far as I can remember in my house (nearly 10 years), but last night a tree branch took down a line and I was without power from 4pm until this morning! I'm sure you can guess how happy I was to have a fully charged Solo on deck! But it was dead by bedtime! lol

I've been given approval for that SECOND Solo!!! I want to charge and use "on another level" too!

I just got my @Ed's TnT stem in the mail! Woohoo! Time to try it out.

If I don't have the removal tool listed on Ed's website, what's the best way to go about removing the screen? I want to use a domed screen instead of the flat on that it comes with. Or would it be better just to put the domed screen over the flat one?

The best way to remove and install snap rings is with snap ring pliers (Like Ed sells):
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000JNRR0Y?keywords=snap ring pliers&qid=1445612540&ref_=sr_1_2&s=power-hand-tools&sr=1-2
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000N37C3C?keywords=snap ring pliers&qid=1445612540&ref_=sr_1_7&s=power-hand-tools&sr=1-7

Such pliers are standard tools in auto parts places as well.

In a pinch you can often catch one hole with a scribe and pull it toward the other and up a bit. Then work the other up a bit. Then back to the first. Once you get a gap, hook the solid part of the ring opposite the break and pull it out open end down. Start it back in open end down, then tip it flat in the bore and press it down with a peg or even a screwdriver tip 'walked' around and around until it's flush.

Yes, I'd leave the factory screen in place (it's what I did even though I have a couple snap ring pliers), the domed screen keeps the harder to remove one clear longer.

I'm sure this has been asked many times before, but I need help before i make a purchase.. I have a solo and I want to attach a bubbler to it.. So I plan on getting the D020-d bubbler.. What other attachments do i need for this?

I have seen some videos of this in action and people always turn the solo upside down.. So I defiantly need something to hold the stem in place.. Also exactly how does the solo attach to the d020d bubbler? any parts im missing? do i need a gong?

thanks :p

It's killing it so far! I really like the way the rounded end of the stem feels on my lips ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

But, in all seriousness, it's very nice. The only negative thing I'm noticing is that the vapor somehow seems harsher than with a glass stem, but I feel like this is probably some sort of placebo effect.

The best thing about Eds stems is they won't break like the glass ones. They lend a look of class and quality to your Solo. Just throw the whole rig in your pocket and don't worry about it. I found it does require higher temps than glass to work properly though. The "woody" taste took a long time to diminish, but was not really a negative thing. Nice to have all these options!

I like the taste of the wood stem, love the earthy taste when they are new. The stems take on the taste of the cannabis that you are using. It's good to have a least one wood stem for the Solo. @Ed's TnT the man with the wood.

I have several of Ed's pieces. A few months ago he made me a mouthpiece and an attachment piece for a whip set up for the Solo. There is a picture somewhere back a few months.

I like the pure taste of things!

The OLD VINE WINE I want an inert material.
CANNABIS being the true HOLY GRAIL is good without distraction!

Inert materials are my preference!

Fine Food, excellent wine & CANNABIS in their natural form.

If you like wood flavor then I'm sure Ed's TNT are suitable.

Hello everyone. I was brainstorming ways on how to get my hands on those high temp o rings some where localy like a hardware store cuz im not tryin to pay shipping for just 1 o ring. I just recently got a beautiful wood stem from eds tnt the shits sexy as hell but it was loose on my solo wich is weird cuz i assumed it was going to strech my solo ahaha anyways then i realized i had some sugru laying around collecting dust, basically a silicone mold type of material if your not familiar. and i made a stem cap and a o ring out of it. Sugru says it can withstand temps of 180c what do you guys think?

Where are you located? If in the US, PM me your address, I should be able to find a few rings for you, I've got a bag of each size somewhere and loose ones spread around.

I'd avoid materials not known safe at full temperature, other materials are likely to 'out gas' something nasty you don't want. The recommended rings are known 'food safe' to 260C. While they don't normally happen in hardware stores (they make lousy seals for plumbing compared to Buna and are expensive) but you can often get them from hydraulic or automotive supply shops.

If my notes are right you want size 113 for older model Solos, 015 for newer ones. The key feature being 9/16 inch ID. However, there's a real limit to how much tighter they make it (that's not the intent of the ring in the first place) and must be carefully fitted or you'll end up breaking the tabs on the bottom and it'll come apart on you.

So, where are you located?

Sugru is not food safe! And it will degrade if repeatedly heated to high temperatures. Still, it's a great product. I've put some on the outside of my glass in order to prevent it from clanging against things and breaking, and it's been effective so far.

The only thing better than having a Solo is having 2 Solos. Which, thanks to a failing Solo and Randy's GREAT customer service, I now have. When my Solo died (would shut off 10-30 seconds after being turned on) I immediately bought another (from Randy) and thanked heavens for my T-Vape back-up (which I also bought from Randy at a ridiculously low $75 price).

Once it got here I emailed Randy and asked what to do about the dead one. He sent me a USPS return label and a week after I sent in the dead one I received a new one (or at least working, although the heating chamber was so clean and shiny I wonder if it really IS new - not that it matters, either mine fixed, or another refurbished one was what Randy said I would get). Bottom line is that it works great and now I have 2 Solos. I rotate them and I will never again have to vape and charge at the same time.

Life is good.

Be sure to install some tiny washers under the screw heads on the bottom of the Solo before installing the "O" ring. I have never had a problem with the bottom cracking. Pipes has them in his Kit also.

I use a 113 seal in a old SOLO and love it!

All you need is a stem (VORTEX) of GSC and happiness will be apond you!

@OF got me into seals!

Absolutely! Thanks to Agracan's refund policy I was able to return my new Arizer Air and purchase a SECOND Solo! The Air felt like the Solo's little sister!!

Eventually when both Solo batteries wear in time, i'll purchase a new high capacity battery, and then use one of the bad battery solo's for exclusive plug in use, and when that battery goes will have that other back up, and i'll treat the HC like gold!

Out of over a dozen vapes, and a decade of vaping i'm back to the Solo being my DD and filling all needs, mostly with water!

Best bang for your vape buck no doubt. IMHO beats many costing waaaay more. I'd rather have THREE Solo's than 1 Mighty!

It kind of fell off my radar when I was experimenting with many new shiny expensive vapes that were all sold in the end. I've had a love/hate relationship with the Solo due to its limited restricted airflow, but that all changed with the newer charge and use models. LOVE THE AIRFLOW NOW! Just right! Actually I love everything about my new Solo....absolutely zero complaints. I love forward to #2!

New to the solo world. Just got mine in today, still charging :( . Only an hour to go on the initial overcharge. I'm inpatient as all hell, but after reading a zillion or so pages of this thread I reckon it'll be worth it.

So far I've already lightly swabbed the bowl and stems with ISO and plan to do 2 or so full cycle burnoffs, anything else to do right off the bat? I've got some organic cotton to mess with after I get my training wheels.

I noticed my bent stems filter holes are nearly 2x the size of my strait stems, I kind of wish it were the other way around as I'm sure I'll prefer a less restrictive airway and the bent stem seems difficult to clean. We will see! This is my first "serious" type entry into the vaporizing world, the wealth of information on this thread and website as a whole helped me make my decision. Already got a d020 and some other goodies on the way!!
