Arizer Solo

I've had my solo a few weeks now and love it. I'm wondering if there are any pens that even come close? A true dry herb vape without combustion, taste great every hit and not like burnt popcorn, and doesn't get real hot because of mouthpiece placement being too close to bowl.

I know comparing a pen style to the solo isn't fair but I'm already wanting to purchase a second and want the best pen I can buy.

Currently considering the imag plus and source ghost. Very similar style, identical actually but wanted the pros opinion.

Seems the Arizer Air is pen sized; about the size of my Persei, I believe.

Yeah, I didn't want to spend the money plus it's very similar to the solo I already have. I'd like a good pen style to have along with it.

@Deano, check out some of the other portables threads. The Air sounds like what your looking for, I have one and have been very happy with it. The Inhalator is small and pen like looking. I don't have one. Check out the Imag Plus. Not really sure what your looking for price wise?

Yay the PVHEGong came so excited. Haven't tried it yet, will do tonight.

Question though, I fiddled around with it for a bit, e.g tested clearing... Lifting the whole solo + gong from the waterpipe repeatedly might get a tiny bit troublesome. I've noticed the weight of the solo causing the gong to get 'stuck' in a way, so i have to use a bit of force to pull it out

Any options for easier clearing? I think I saw a pic several pages back where a Y piece or something was used with a glass stopper. would that work?

Or maybe adding a short whip + EQ or DBV gong?

Some people put a little peanut or coconut oil on their gong to keep them fron getting stuck.....rez block or CE could work also.....ive also seen plumbers tape.....or you could get a carbed gong from @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd and you wont have to pull your gong to clear it(although he is on a temp break from taking orders)......i just give mine a good twist and it comes out,but it can be a bitch......

I just use chapstick or some other wax lip balm on all my glass joints. It keeps the pieces from binding while also promoting a better seal during use.

My 18mm PVHE Shorty GonG replacement arrived today. If anyone remembers my post a little while back, on the original bowl, it was cut crooked so it actually sat a little crooked in my solo on top of my WT and vaped my material unevenly. The replacement looks so much better than the previous GonG I received. Pretty happy with PV and how they handled it.

I will need a more permanent solution eventually though, as I clean my glass daily and would prefer not to use anything 'greasy', as well as it may work.

For my purposes would a whip or y piece/adapter with glass stopper work better? Or any other recommended options ?

And got around to trying out vaporbonging with the PVHEGonG last night. Absolutely amazing lives up to the hype. Definitely goes through material quicker BUT it didn't take long for me to get high as hell. Might be a placebo but it 'felt' more like a bong high too? Heavier

I use the Y adapter from PV when I watervape .
It is easier when you just have to lift the stopper instead
of the Solo to clear the bubbler . Then I can remove the Solo or not .
And I've hooked up 2 Solos for extra lung busting hits .
The stopper doesn't have to be made of glass tho .
Some have mentioned using rubber sink stoppers , corks , etc .

Just got my Solo, I'm pleasantly surprised how small it is, for some reason it looks bigger on pictures/youtube.

Cannot figure out if it's newer model or not, don't want t plug it in since it's been in mailbox for half a day and it's extremely cold, maybe will plug it in tomorrow and see if it has charge pass through.

I am not sure what you mean by more bong-type high, is this the first time you're connecting the Solo to a water tube? With water paths you can get much bigger hits than with dry, meaning more cannabinoids at once. When I have the time to spare, I like starting at level 2 up to level 4 dry, then straight to 7 to finish it off. Level 7 is suddenly not as harsh! Anyways as for your glass "issue" you have a few options, you can use a lubricant on the GonG (the frosted glass bits), or you can get some adapters. You want either an 18mm male to 18mm female like this

on that one, the 19/22 is fine, 18.8mm for us is the same as 19mm, the 22 means it's 22mm long. The only problems I see possibly happening are, the 18mm male to female I posted (first link) might put the Solo up too high and in the way of the mouthpiece. The dropdown gets it out of the way, and if you slide it over next to the actual body of the tube it should be fine, but if the base isn't wide enough when you leave it all sitting it might tip over. The base looks big enough on yours that I don't think it'll be a problem. I'm a little weird in that I have adapters for all my stuff, so that nothing sits directly on the glass of my stuff, especially when I had stemlines like yours with no removable downstem. It's nice to have adapters so I can convert all the joints to whatever I want, and if the glass/nail does get stuck, it stays on an adapter instead of the tube.

Where did you get it from? If it's one of the bigger retailers they move enough product to only have the newer models. It's been almost a year now since they were released so I doubt anyone that moves a decent amount still has any of the old models in stock. Serial numbers mean nothing, it's even in my sig

Yep have vaped for a long time, but first time through water By bong like high (experience is probably a more suitable word here), yes, I meant the hits felt bigger, more concentrated etc... And I coughed a little too! (which hardly ever happens when dry vaping). And the couch-lock was more noticeable too (indica). I started from 5 and finished on 7. (I usually do 3 to 5/6 with the solo alone)

Thanks for that! Going to consider a dropdown and/or claisen, and having a bunch of adapters seems like a good idea.

Only thing is I live in Australia (unfortunately!!) and it's a lot harder to source these parts. Hopefully I find something.. Seen some stuff on PV but I JUST received the GonG from them and the shipping cost as much as the item itself lol

Edit, the funny thing was the herbalizer didn't impress me at the time, not that my mom has one, i fucking love the herbalizer.

I was debating whether or not to get UD, enano or LSV for thicker clouds. My setup now is solo, turbo gong with a glass tube bong. It works wonders with clouds but that's with setting at 10.

So I just ordered the F-bomb with gong from planetvape earlier this week. I'm hoping for thicker clouds with F-bomb or should I have stuck with my regular class tube setup?

Just tried my new Arizer Solo for the first time. $129.99 from Aroma-Tek with 2-day shipping.

Read a few hundred posts before coming here. Charged the device overnight. Ran 5 cycles on setting 7 to remove any residue. Created a domed screen that I put into the bottom of the curved pipe against the glass holes. Set the solo to 4. Filled the bowl about half way and packed it gently with the back of a pen.

Inserted the pipe and waited for it to reach 4. Took a nice slow hit. Could see vapor coming up. Saw a good cloud on the exhale. As I drew on the tube I saw the heating LED flash a bit. Took about 4 draws and I was feeling good.

Removed the tube, thinking I could save a bit for another time. I was surprised to find that most of the material had fallen out into the base. Do I need to have a 2nd screen to make a hamburger of screens. My material is pretty dry and crumbly. ABV seems unfinished.

I searched the thread for screens and domed screens. I could use some advice on screen shape and positioning. Mine screen wiggles around in the tube. I have 5/8" stainless steel screens that I can cut up.

PS: I lost my Flowermate 5 which is why I am here.
