Singer of songs and a vapor connoisseur
I have a Solo and I've tried the Pax a few times. You cannot compare the 2 vaporizers. The Pax IMO cooks the herb after the first few min it taste fine but after that it had a terrible taste. The battery on a couple of my Solos are almost 6 months old and the battery lasts over an hour and they are used often. I don't own the Firefly so I cannot comment on that.
Maybe the Solo isn't for everyone. The price is reasonable for most folks. The warranty is 2 yrs on the unit and 1 yr and the battery. For me I really enjoy the vapor flavor that the Solo provides. I can taste the real taste of the herb flower that I am experiencing.
The Solo stays on for 12 min. I add the herb flower to my glass stem then I turn the Solo on with the stem heating up in the unit. When I get to the desired temp I wait about 20 seconds then I start to draw. The first couple of draws I see visible right away and the vapor gets thicker with each draw. I like the vapor flavor that the Solo gives me. I usually have a 10 min session. The Solo doesn't use a lot of product and I can run the herb through twice. Lately I'm only cycling my herb through one time around. I'm saving ABV for edibles.
The Solo works well for medical or recreational, whatever your needs might be. In the beginning using the Solo I noticed I started saving money right away on product. I own three Solos one is 1 1/2 years old. It is the older model that can't be used and charged at the same time. My other two are the newer 2014 revised version. I use my units as a portable as well as a plugin. I only own portable vaporizers. I have an Ascent, Indica, Vapir No. 2. and I still have 2 Pinnacle Pros that I no longer use, they still work though (a long story)I'm always looking for my next portable. There are some vaporizers that I no longer suggest that my friends buy. The Solo is my daily driver right now and I highly recommend it as a quality unit to others.
It's hard to know if a vaporizer will be for you unless you give it a try. It's very difficult to be able to try one out unless you buy it. So some of us have to live and learn. Whatever you decide make sure you buy with an authorized vendor. The bottom line is to .....
