Just got one of Ed's 14mm wongs a couple days ago, and I'm loving it. Makes the solo feel a lot more portable, I can even take it for walks and to the gym with me now

Hey everyone, im loving my new solo. I was realy surprised one load lasted me 1 and a half sessions, started on 3 then moved up to 6. It gets me super high and it barely even smells. One thing thats kinda annoying, is the straight stem has gotten quite loose. Is there anyway to fix this without buying the O rings? If not I guess ill have to try find some, or just live with it. It not a big deal, it would just be nice if it was more snug. Thanks guys

I put my solo at 10 for a few minutes before I take a major bong toke using bong on pvgong. Will I be inhaling benzene, as well as other toxic compounds doing this?

Probably, especially considering the Solo maxes out at 7.

On a more serious note, the Solo maxes at 210c. There is a conduction component which may be a factor in terms of unwanted toxins, but if you are at all concerned, just use temp 2-4...after a heatsoak, you will still get massive clouds....they will taste better, and your bowl will last longer.

Regarding o-ring....total game changer for me....however, the stems are now looser than when I first started using the o-ring. What up with that? Haven't tried a different o-ring yet.

The Solo heats to heat level 7. Is that what you mean?

That's 220 C and 428 F. I have Solo on 7 when I'm using wax or water tools. Too hot with dry herb for me. Thats just me. Does your herb taste OK?

Yea it taste perfectly fine. I only combust sometimes if I go to crazy with the lotus but never with the solo.

I'm using a water tool. I usually leave it at level 7 for about 2 minutes and I take 30 second rip. After that the clouds are pretty weak so now it's like my one hitter quitter if I pack in more. I'm looking into the heatsoak method at a lower level to avoid any weird toxins. But then not sure if it's anything to worry about in first place.

Hi, could anybody suggest a quality replacement battery for the Solo for me? I haven't been able to find any that both come recommended and aren't either on back order or impossible to order altogether.

Also, if at all possible, I'd prefer to get a battery that's able to utilize the numbered lights on the Solo to indicate its charge state when the vaporizer is turned on, and the flashing green light to indicate when it's actively charging.

Thanks a ton, and I'll be sure to post my experience if I'm able to pull the replacement off!

The high capacity ones aren't currently available, but the stock capacity is: http://www.planetvape.ca/solo-vapepower-standard-capacity-battery-pack.html (both are VapePower products ;) )

Regarding the 'preferred'... this is a normal function of the Solo regardless of battery/battery pack used

Hi everybody, today i just got my solo for $300 at a Lhs. Well the unit seems to work but the charger the guy gave does not recharge my solo plus it is not even the right charger. It has three prongs instead of two like the one i see on the website. So what should i do? Go to the lhs and get my money back because i havent used . Any info will help. Its a real let down to get an expensive product and not be able to use it :(

OK that looks like a European charger? maybe a US charger with an earth pin? im not 100% on this, any ideas people? they are some seriously bad pics buddy :p Im not sure where you live but i got mine with a US charger and the seller threw in country adaptor to suit it, Im an Aussie so we have different plug altogether. I would go back and ask for the original charger and hund town an adaptor, if he wont give it to you i would demand a refund, $300 is rather pricy where did u get it? I got mine in Australia for $220aud posted to me.

on another note i think i found the prefect on the go charger
http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10004461/1341500-qidian-3a-1-4-18650-mobile-power-bank-battery

specs read:
  • Input: DC 5V / 1.6A
  • Output: 3A / voltage is adjustable in 5V, 5.5V, 6V, 6.5V, 7V, 7.5V, 8V, 8.5V, 9V, 9.5V, 10V, 10.5V, 11V, 11.5V, 12V, 12.5V, 13V
  • With LCD display to indicate the remaining power

That female/female plug dose not look the right size to fit the solo but im sure you could Macgyver something to suit. I think the only issue i see is getting the voltage right, to low and it wont work but too high and you let the smoke out of the solo

@OvaDaBong i got it at some smoke shop here in California. Yeah i know it was rather pricey .Sorry about the pics. I know there terrible.
When i plug it into my solo it turns on the blue idle light then yellow lights 1-3 and they keep blinking. The red charging light is not turning on. Is it suppose to do this?

@Demobudz, if you bought that Solo in California then take it back to that lhs, tell them it's not working and get your money back. You can then buy 2 brand new Solos from many online vendors for the price you paid for that one (i.e., Puffitup for $160 or various Ebay sellers for even less). $300 is way too much to pay for a Solo these days.

That sure sounds like low voltage to me, 'light shows' happen in such cases. If you're plugging it in in California, it's not a EU supply, I'm guessing it belongs with another vape?

What does the label on the charger say?

@OF the label on the charger says EWIRE . I was also thinking that the charger he gave me most likely belongs to another vape

Thanks, actually I was looking for the 'output' part. Hopefully it says "12 VDC 1000 mA" like mine do? None of them say "EWIRE" BTW......kind of a clue?

@Papa Woody On Vaporpedia msrp on the solo said $300 so i thought i was paying the normal price.

Probably true, but 'street price' should be about half that? Both Planet Vape and Puff it Up will sell you one for $160 shipped (PIU is famous for amazingly fast shipping). LHSs should be supported IMO but that's a lot of support......even if they gave you a complete new package that actually worked......

Your call, but if it were mine I'd seriously consider returning it, ordering one from PIU (which will be there early next week) and using the extra bucks to lay in some tasty top shelf bud to try it out with. Any issues and PIU will have a replacement in the mail to you before the sun goes down.......I know, it happened to me.

Good luck getting it sorted out, I'm sure you too will love Solo when that happens.

Is there anywhere to get a new solo that's old stock before they changed it. Where you can't use it while charging?
thanks

The model was changed around in Dec 2013 I think. These are the 2014 version that's being sold in the online stores. There maybe some older units around. I bet they would be hard to find though. Keep looking on the classifieds on FC. You don't see very many Solos for sale.

No known sources I know of. The last mention of someone getting one on a new order was 6 months or so back. I suspect the old stock 'washed out of the supply train' pretty quickly due to volume.

OTOH, most if not all the 'open box' (used, returned, tested) units from PIU have all been 'old style' (true PA). One I got from the batch before the one that ran out a few days back appeared to be unused. No herb debris, 'virgin' top seal, not a scratch in sight, no 'weed smell' on warm up, and so on. IMO a great deal for $60. If you have your heart set on the older model (and I too favor them) and can wait a bit until the next (it'll probably take Randy a while to build up stock?). They show up on the 'last call' page:
http://www.puffitup.com/category-s/69.htm

Stay sharp, at those prices they sure don't last long.

Normally I'd say 'check for used ones on the classifieds', but Solo owners don't seem all that interested in selling theirs......go figure.....

Good luck.
