Wow. That's a new one. Is it charged? Are the LEDs coming on? Is this a recent vintage Cannabis? What part of the plant? What are you accustomed to? Can you describe how you load up what stem, and how you vape? FWIW I'm a chronic 95%VG+Flavoring+Nic vaper, I have a callus on my thumb where I push the button.
Hi Fernand, again I m a real newbie. No just regular good quality weed, amnesia haze maybe, not sure. The solo works fine, charged it a couple of times I use stock curved stem. I load it up not too tight, maybe 2/3 of the bowl, as to how I vape, I I usually set it between 4 and 6 and try to take slow and long puffs.

It all sounds fine. So do you get vapor?

If you're used to combustion, maybe run it all the way on 7 for openers. That'll give you a more complete high, all the terpenes and stuff. Between 4 and 6 will be better once you're adjusted, a brighter effect, not as stoned. I like 3-4.

You could try a water tool with the Solo. I used the Pinnacle Pro WT with mine the other day and felt really medicated afterwards. I used heat level 6 & 7.

If you are used to combusting it may take you a week or two to get used to vaping.

Thanks a lot for your response, I ve been combusting for 17 years now, as well as smoking cigs... I get vapor on 4 setting and up, I will try using 7 until I get used to it. I tried 3, but hardly any vapor, 2 nothing... (I thought you got the most on 2 setting?! Am I wrong?)

Hi Pinnacle since I just got the solo, I'll try to get used to vaping first, and then I ll check out that water tool. does it really help?

I don't think a water system adds anything, it just cools it (niiiiice!) and loses a small percentage (who cares). For now the important thing is raise the temp. 7 is the hottest. 2 is the rectal temperature of a sleeping badger. Go 7!

Ok I ll try that tomorrow, any tips on how to get the most out of the battery?

What am I missing?
What is all the hype about charging and using the SOLO at the same time?
Big Deal!
I don't care about that?
My old SOLO's are fine.
ARISER did a COKE move changing a formula that worked!
Am I not seeing this new change correctly?
The engineers always say:
"If it's not broke don't fix it"!
Did ARISER fix something that wasn't broken?
ataxian, old comrade.. i am in agreement with you on this one.
I still LOVE my solos. I have one that is two years in service.
The community loves their solos also.
Now all of a sudden, people are paranoid about accepting solos, and are getting other vapes instead.
"Is it an old one or a new one?" you can hear them nervously ask, when someone is passing along a Solo.
When someone talks of ordering one, they then ask the same questions, and try to keep a step ahead by figuring a sequential logic to serial numbers!
I stopped "watching" this thread many months back.
I love my solo, and all of it's wonderful accessories from PV and Eds.
The Solo thread was too active. Too busy to keep up with....
and then that thing happened.
"is it an old one or a new one?"
ataxian said what I have been feeling. Funny thing is, it was the first post I landed on when I decided to check in on this thread!

I am not disrespecting anyone here or the Solo either.
I am questioning the logic behind fixing something that works fine right now.
(new vaporist friends already have heard the hype, and already covet my original solos!!);)

If you're new to vaping this is no doubt an important factor. For 17 years your brain has been associating the reaction to all the nasty junk in smoke with getting stoned. The red eyes, hacking and coughing, all that fun stuff. That's no longer happening, you're just confused at deep level.

Time will cure that as your brain learns you don't have to stick your face in the campfire to get THC. It takes a bit, maybe even a week or two of no smoking to make the conversion. We've all gone through it. I can assure you it will happen and your chances of ever going back are slim indeed.

BTW, expect your weed bill to drop to a fraction (1/3 and 1/4 being commonly reported numbers). Yes, if a gram lasted you 2 days before, it'll go a week soon.

Regards.

Both "models" have their advantages/differences. But if its' a Solo I gotta like it. I've had both kinds. They both rock.
The whole serial # thing is total BS though, they are not model numbers.
There has been some changes with newer Solos, but it has been reported that some of the new numbers have been repeated, ie. the same as an earlier number series. So the numbers don't mean much to the consumer.

@fernand

Here's that gong:
atbgong.jpg

It actually used to be that crappy aroma therapy bowl that comes with the set to do essential oils, but doesn't work. So I took it to a local glassblower and he mated a 14mm connection and punched a hole in the bowl. Only cost me $20.00-cheaper than online. I cut out and add a small screen. The "O" provides a perfect fit. I find the increased airflow of my recently aquired Solo works well with this gong and this:

hish, With the water tool you can vape higher temps without feeling the harshness of the vapor. It get me more medicated. I don't have access to oils. Put a little oil on some herb wrapped in cotton might help.

I just had a SOLO GonG in low income D020 indica bed time strain!
My old S0LO. Serial number?

Maybe just oil on the herb will taste best. Cotton starts to brown and anything else has a taste too. At least the herb is a taste we all know & love.

@Dr. Soxhlet that's a righteous conversion. I guess it's good glass in that "aromatherapy cup" ;-)

It is borosilicate glass, just like the rest of the set. Of course 18mm connction could be added instead.

Gotta remember... at the end of the day Arizer is a business. What will attract more buyers than adding a plug n vape feature? The not-so-experienced vapists can buy into the shiny new feautures and that equals... more money. Im sure they also have our interests in mind... the people who actually take the time to learn the product before investing, but at the same time, making more money seems like a better option for them. Im not bashing in any way, just trying to provide a difference prospective. And I might be completely wrong. Just a thought.

Edit: Just read OF's comment about this. Kinda similar to what Im saying

Solod out.
Do you guys ever wonder whether or not its safe to use the solo upside down for like 3 hours when using a bubbler and on level 7? Maybe I'm tripping but I think my solo feels warmer than usual.

Heat rises... I've had a few multi-stem upside-down sessions and my Solo is fine.

Under a critical battery failure scenario I'm pretty sure the batteries would just start to vent. Not sure what kind of stress they would have to be under to actually explode and make the Solo a frag grenade or something. Most of the heat I notice from multi-stem sessions is around the top half, above the LEDs.

Worse comes to worst, the extra heat isn't doing much good for the batteries, but they're easily replaceable once you get them. I'm on my first Solo so I'm unsure just how much the self-generated heat affects the battery pack. Might be something @OF can field.

Opened up the battery on a 3/14 unit from awesome dealer. Whats the little green strip doing i cant get any difference in measurement? I put a watt meter on it both ways and have awesome data. Charges at 0.86a just like OF posted. My only knowledge is about 10-12 pages deep. Under power it bounces around 2.8a first spike then mellows down slowly 2.5....2.1....1.5....0.35. back up to 1.5a. Seems to jump around as the heater turns on and off. My watt meter is a low quality tool so these are just fun hobby style measurements. I love playing with stuff. A vaporizer is just another toy/tool. Not trying to be a jerk or bog the thread down with useless info to the average dude looking to buy a vape. The Solo kicks butt i would recommend it to anyone.

I understand the making $ part.
I get it!
Trust me!

Speaking of practicality!

ARISER made a marketing decision to grow their company.
I understand the streamline approach to production and having one feature is always easier to control.

What I am saying is the original way the SOLO worked was what I liked about it. (SIMPLE)
I just wish they offered the "ORIGINAL" and the "NEW" SOLO and let the customer choose?
The same unit just different functions.

It doesn't matter what I think anyway!
My view is jaded because I will not vaporize flowers in a car or out in public.
Too sketchy!
I don't think a water system adds anything, it just cools it (niiiiice!) and loses a small percentage (who cares). For now the important thing is raise the temp. 7 is the hottest. 2 is the rectal temperature of a sleeping badger. Go 7!

Now many like yourself prefer higher temperatures.

Last night before bed I tried Level 6 with a Bubbler.
It did put me out hard.
I woke up with a splitting headache!
Now I know why Level 4 is ideal for me.
When the light indicator reaches Level 2 I start drawing.
I like your line: "the rectal temperature of a sleeping badger!"
As soon as the flavor fades I know the session is over.

Others can handle Level 7 or having dinner at 7/11, driving a car 100mph in rush hour traffic!

"Whatever you can handle"?

Hi Fernand I tried at 7, yet to want to roll a regular joint, so thanks a lot for the tips!!! I m going to go 7 for a week or 2 and I ll see how it goes from there. Should I grind more finely for best results?

I m also going to force myself to use the e cig. I'm on my third day, hope to go for the long run
