Arizer Solo II

Sorry this has prob been discussed forever but is there a performance difference between solo 2 and air 2?

Any difference in vapour?

Arizer portables usually between hits you need give it 30secs so does the solo have a bigger heater that retains heat more than the air between hits?

Or is it's same heater so literally just the shell and air having removable batteries that is different?

As you said, "this has prob been discussed forever". However, while I understand your intent, it has not been 'forever' and IMO there's no probably about it. It's been discussed since Air came out and guys logically wanted to know how it compared to Solo I. You'll find (no doubt sincere) opinions 'both ways'. I seriously doubt asking again will change that? Conflicting opinions is all you're going to get, once again.

The only sure way to decide for yourself is to decide for yourself. You'd need to try both, side by side, under as identical conditions as you can. When I did so I found no useful difference, but others will clearly state they did.

IMO the only objective difference you can point to is size. Air being smaller has half the run time per charge, but offers easy battery exchange. FWIW, I use Solo II not Air for that reason. Longer between recharges. In theory the heaters and stems are identical.

This forum is so hostile, so much uncalled attitude.

You would think everyone here is high so would be chilled vibes.

Anyway thank you for the reply, if everyone was going to just buy what they are unsure about as you suggested there would be no need for this forum.

I have had the solo 2 & air 1. Used omni last 2 years but i miss the solo 2 sometimes but i think the dynavap will have raised my tolerance as its so potent so don't think Arizer would get the job done now.

If you had a solo 2 and a air 1 what difference would you expect between a solo2 and a air 2?

Maybe quicker recovery time of heater between draws for solo 2? Because I take big long draws. Not sure that's why I asked.

A much different question than your first. I think the answer here is they're basically the same. The need for 'heat soaks' is a feature of the conduction heating nature of the devices. Heat within the load is quickly exhausted, some making vapor and some heating the incoming cooler air. Once it drops a few dozen degrees, vapor production tapers off. Replacing it takes time. Since the ovens are basically the same (when heated to the same cup temperature) and the stems are identical, you should expect very similar performance.

The changes from Solo I to II, and similarly Air I to II are basically cosmetic, they still work the same way.

The Z is on demand so after 5 seconds of preheating it’s ready for a draw. I’ve had it for a few weeks and I like it, but there’s definitely a learning curve. Im going back to the Solo 2 this week. I really miss the consistency of it.
The Z can finish 0.1 with 1 draw afaik, I find it hard to get done on the solo 2 , maybe with 210C +

I have overworked my solo ll for a year and know that I will eventually kill it.
The splinter with a box mod seems to be a possible progression.
Any thoughts on the ideal replacement other than another solo ll.

I have a Solo 2 and picked up a custom Splinter Z with a RXG3 dual from @VGOODIEZ and I really like it. On demand hits are smooth and big once you find a sweet spot in the settings. I just started using with glass and gets me destroyed.
