If you give it a few minutes to pre heat the oven gasket will expand and the stems should fit in much easier.

Well, yes. I did that. When they broke anyway, I knew that I needed another solution, and I found it. I no longer have to concern myself over broken stems. I had heard ahead of my first use that warming up helped. I do hang out on vape sites, and word gets around. I haven't used a glass stem since getting my Blackwood stems from @Ed's TnT , nor do I miss them. If others like them, that's well and good. Everyone should enjoy their vapes the way they like best.

I am still quite impressed with my Solo II. I absolutely love the flavor! There are times I can't believe I'm using an electric portable. This vape really performs well. I'm more of an on-demand type a guy but the Solo II really holds up well. I'm very happy I bought it even though I dont use it often. I always enjoy it when I do.

I posed this question to the Mighty thread but figured I'd also ask here to get both sides perspective.
I'm new to vaping and was debating between the Mighty or the Solo 2. Fortunately, budget is not really an issue for me but value is important. These two units seem to receive a lot of praise online so I was wondering whether the extra $200 is worth it for the Mighty?
What do you get for that extra $200 that you don't get with the Solo 2?

With the Solo2 you get an all glass vapor path which delivers superb flavor.
From Arizer: "We have carefully sourced our parts from all over the world and have gone to great lengths to source and use only safe quality parts, from glass to silica free ceramics, there are no glues, pcb's are lead free, no components contain mercury, all accessories are medical/food grade and temperature rated."
Another thing worth mentioning is not much plastic on the Solo2 that could crack due to constant temperature fluctuations. Arizer also will send you a replacement battery (it won't be free) and you'll be able to replace the battery yourself should you find yourself vaping on the device 3 or 4 years down the road when the need arises.

Actually you can, in fact the same battery works in either unit. The pack for Solo II has about 50% greater capacity. You need tools and moderate skills, so it's not like say ArGo or Air, but it's definitely possible.
Great choice with Solo, you won't be disappointed.

I know one thing, cleaning is much easier with the Solo II. It's so simple, Arizer uses stems and the Mighty has an oven you pour the weed into. I should say I do not have a Mighty but I do own a Boundless CFX which is very similar. For me, I like the idea of the stems, especially with the glass screens built in...flavor is amazing on the Solo II. There really is no cleaning involved except for reclaim build up on the stems, which is a bonus. If it was me I would choose the Solo II, but I have never tried the Mighty, so it may be better YMMV.

You get the S&B name stuck on one of the easiest portable vapes to use and get great results with. It's super durable, and you will get great results with any grind, pack, material, etc. For such a short airpath, it cools vapor really well. It's a spectacular device, but overpriced after all these years (imo).
I have owned both units; traded my Mighty away this year and kept the Solo II. I don't really miss my Mighty at all, but I do have other vapes that fill the session slot for me (the Plenty). As spectacular as it is, I found it a huge pain to clean, didn't like the flavor (it's good but not great), and the plastic airpath just feels out of place at this price point.
I've only had the Solo II for a few weeks, but I LOVE it. The taste is great, the battery lasts an absurd amount of time, and it's an elegant design. I have a stem on the way from Ed and am excited to try that out. It requires a little more minding (and occasional stirring) of your grind and pack, but couldn't be easier to clean.
I still highly recommend the Mighty to anyone, especially if you can get it for a good discount. If you're only looking at these two, I believe the Solo II is the better value.

One thing I've heard that is swaying me to the Mighty is that you've gotta have a really strong draw to get the most out of the Solo 2 (someone used the hilarious analogy of "sucking chrome off a trailer hitch"). Do you guys find this to be reasonably accurate? As a newbie, my techniques suck and so I'm looking for the easiest draw possible.

No, and this is a controversial topic (or can become one), but in fact the thickest hits from vapes like this come from very slow hits. Watch some of the videos of guys 'milking' or 'chalking' their WTs. The vapor in there becomes amazingly dense (hence the names) literally looking like it's been filled with milk.
This can be easily seen, watch yourself hit it 'both ways' in front of a mirror and see which fills the stem better?
Going slow gives more time for heat to flow into the load to make vapor and less cold air being pulled through that 'robs' some of that heat heating air rather than making vapor. It is not like blazing at all, which is where lots of the confusion comes from. Combustion teaches that hitting hotter draws more into the fire, making more heat. Not cooling it down like with (most) vapes.
Guys sucking hard to get 'huge clouds' in a hurry do get huge clouds (or they'd repent?), but at the expense of density. You want rich, thick hits? Go slow.

I would say that there is definitely some resistance with the Solo II, its more of a sipper type vape. It does that exceptionally well. When I use my Solo II I dont draw hard on the mouthpiece. I just slowly sip in the vapor, so to speak. It's a real nice device to use, the best electric portable I have tried, although its a small sample size of maybe 3-4.

And how much you pack the load has a lot to do with the ease of the draw. Finer grinds require more effort too. I find a bud is harder to vape than ground weed too.

Also noteworthy: Arizer website has sales on Solo II accessories. Was looking for a bent aroma tube (heard it cools the vapor more), and their sale price beat several online vape retailers even with shipping. I took (maybe false) comfort that I'm getting an OEM boro-silicate stem.

I haven’t signed onto here for a while but I wanted to drop in and tell everyone I’ve had my Arizer Solo 2 for 1.5 years now and it’s still going strong! Still charges fully and lasts just as long as when I bought it and it works just as well too. Solid product in my opinion.

Truthfully, I think the benefit over the mighty is more the glass vapor path, and simple cleaning. (I don’t have a mighty but I do hear it’s harder to clean)
