Arizer Solo 3

I have a small plastic container with locking lid i fill with alcohol, I put my stems in it and let them soak then shake the container good and they come out clean.
Adding a good amount of salt speeds up this process a lot. This mixture also works great on my bongs. One minute shaking and a rinse makes them cleaner than a 2 hour soak. Hot ISO is also very effective, but it takes some time and effort. And it smells. Gotta love salt!

I recently got the solo 3 and I'm having a lot of fun, I noticed that if I exceed the temp 3 in on demand mode I risk combustion while at 3 it comes out a little too light for my standard, I can't find a perfect avb, even in session I have the same problem, even at 190 C

The S3 has a lot of conduction but there is also some convection at play. I’d recommend sticking to one temp on session mode for now, and experimenting with your draw speed to see what sort of control you can gain over the roast.

The grind and pack you choose is also a factor. Tighter, finer grinded packs are darker AVB and hotter vapour at the same temp compared to a looser, coarsely grinded pack. Torn off pieces of nugs are also good and what I’d always prefer to go with

It’s all just a game of understanding how the different variables factor into the roast and then manipulating those variables to get what you’re after.

I wanted a smaller dose, so I tried packing less, which works OK. I also got a dosing cap from Ali and tried it. The cap is a little too large for the standard tube, but fits with space in the XL tube. Given I use the Solo3 inverted, the cap never actually touches the bottom of the oven. Does this mean the results are full convection? As for the draw, it was a little restricted, but still completely usable.

Temperature is also controlled by your draw speed. I contacted Arizer lately, this is what they wrote on heating:

„In Both Modes (Session & On Demand) the oven temperature is regulated and stabilized based on airflow rate during use with a finely-tuned hybrid heat ratio of 80% Convection, 20% Conduction.“

So you can hit it harder for a darker roast and vice versa.

So it's probably my fault..I pull too hard, I'll experiment again

I will say no. The first first draws will have less conduction, but eventually the metal and glass will heat up (from the hot hair and oven heat) and provide some conduction.

Really! All the male stoners here any no jokes about this? I giggled. 😂

Thanks. That makes sense.
