AirVape Legacy Pro / AVLP 2

Haven't gotten my AVLP2 shipped yet but I'm looking forward to trying it out when I get it.

I got it for the $100 discount so my expectations aren't crazy high, I just want it to be a much smaller quicker replacement for my Mighty when I want to do some sessions while out and about.

We'll see when it gets here

Well I will say I have never experienced uneven extraction with the AVLP v1.

Not up to the TM standards - ok but I don't remember anyone claiming it was a $100 TM?

Obviously you are free to react how you all wish but I would like to say to anybody reading this (waiting for their order) to maybe don't dismiss until you've tried it.

If you think it will match your TM, Venty or TB you might be disappointed but I am not sure that is the way to look at this. It is a different vape with different compromises.

I will say I never "fell in love" with my AVLP on looks and feel like I did with my MFLB or VM where I just instantly love them but over time I simply could not argue with what it can do and it grew on me.

Not saying anybody is wrong to be disappointed but I wouldn't put too much stock in other people immediate negative reactions given how different everyone's preferences and needs actually are. My thoughts.
Well said.

It's an excellent portable and I have one of the top tier portables in the Bowle 2 to compare amongst others. It's definitely worth trying it.

The $99 upgrade price is a no-brainer. You can often get it discounted at least $100 off retail so $170US for first time buyers. Even when others like the Venty, TM2 are discounted they're still significantly more expensive. I think there's nothing else that beats it for a stealth portable in this price range that I've encountered.

It needs no accessories out-of-the box for cool, smooth, amazing tasting vapor for its price range. Really punches above its weight. Good battery life, on-demand mode, USB-C with wireless charging. My AVB is *always* even. I've no issues after 3 years with my AVLP1.

or even at $189
I think that the Legacy Pro lineup is good and packed with features that other dry herb vapes in the space don’t have. So one could argue puts it close to a $190 value. But in terms of vapor performance. I feel it’s around the $100-$130 range. Good contender for the XMAX V3, Roffu, and POTV One, but gets out performed when we get into the POTV Lobo price bracket and related. Again only in terms of vapor performance. Which AirVape markets as “top notch” on their $269 device.

I think vapor performance is what a lot of people consider as a top priority taking the value of a vaporizer into account. I’m no marketing expert but I think it would be good for AirVape to drop their price to $150-$170, and stop the constant promotions that bring it to ~$160. But that’s just my naive opinion.

I can swap capsule in the dark or under a table in seconds. no loose lid to hold.
way outperforms One and v3P and the caps are 100x easier to use, wouldn't buy a lobo because of this gold cap system which also work in TM2
ps 3 yrs in/out of my pocket and truck the wrinkle in the fabric was never an issue.

Maybe I’ve got to break out the V3 pro again! It’s the only one I didn’t find an home of me giving away of those similar devices.

I remember not noticing a huge or very noticeable vapor performance difference when i had the LP and V3 when they were new but definitely could be wrong. They both needed long steady draws, with a couple pre heating puffs to get things hot, and just similar style of low-med power convection heater techniques. I should know that I really don’t hit temps above 390 because of the flavor degrading fast from the Legacy cooking the bottom part of the bowl faster than the top.

not really.
you compared Retail Price and then so did i, i was totally fair. and you paid $100 not $300 for your fav vape TBH
Yes I did pay about $120 for the ALP2, but this is a new unreleased vape and the price accounts for that. At the time I placed my order, there were many on this thread touting how great the v1 performed. Had I known those reviews were slightly embellished, I would have never placed my order. I was burned before on an early unreleased vape purchase, Davinci Ascent. I’m happy with my decision and will see what the Frolic has to offer once reviews are out.

it's like you are taking about some other brand of vape, never had those issues.
my 2 og avlp models produce the sweetest vapor that cooks evenly through out a 320f at 5min session. even at 390 at 3min session. i don't remove the stock screens or wheel (i tried both ways, side by side, hit for hit) There were almost no difference in quality vapor.

the og legacy, not the pro, was only good for concentrates and sucked with flower-combustion was a big problem.

edit
we need to adhere to no comparison of the thread heading or a mod will probably come down on us.

edit2
All we are doing now, is repeating the same things over and over. maybe we should find something new to say about the avlps, just saying?

This right here... it sure seemed like there was nothing but comments of love and how the ALVP was people's all time favorites etc for a few pages when the preorder deal went live. It made me fall for the fomo hype at the price. But ultimately it was my call and seemed low risk.

As long as it is a solid performer I doubt it will be something I reach for first, but will instead fit the need for certain scenarios as well as function as a backup in case other preferred devices fail.

Lack of communication on shipping delays, however, are not something I put up with long term. We provided the funds, and should be in the loop on delays since it seems barely anyone had their devices shipped by early July as was the last official communication or update in general from anyone at Airvape. There is no reason to hide this unless there's a problem with the device they are having to deal with (maybe that bubbling of the cover mentioned by someone who got theirs already?) and they are concerned about a flood of cancelations (imo).

I'll give it a bit more time and then I'm going to to show my appreciation and money elsewhere.

Fabric / cork issues with bubbles, uneven vaporization, and performance not up to par with TM? Refund email request sent! I don’t think I need another vape that I’ll use a handful of times and then place in a drawer never to be used again. The low entry price had me on the hook for a few months, but after reading more about this vape, I’m out!
Lol

Hell nah, I’ve owned two of those devices and they are not remotely in the same vapor production category, Now yal just saying anything. The only cons was my lid hinges getting warped and cleaning being annoying, it clears those devices easily, especially in build quality and vapor.

People see a random opinion and get to canceling after waiting months without trying it themselves is crazy lol

Have we determined what the rubber covered hole across from the power button, on the other side of the mouth piece is? Can it be used as a carb, is it for deep cleaning?

I'm loving the AVLP2 for my use case - a vape that I can use and get satisfying sessions with, with minimal imposition re: smell and disturbance. Gotta play around with the best 'config' when using capsules, but otherwise for $99 I couldn't be more pleased.

to be fair this is not remotely an "unreleased vape"; merely and upgraded version
Exactly, and bro tried to say the VP3 of all things is on the same tier, the bowl sizes aren’t even the same.

If he pulled up with the solo 3 as a comparison, it would make more sense. It can be really hard to trust opinions on here, but this is just a QOL update to an existing vape; everything that people need to know is in the thread already.

I can understand your view and that’s the beauty of this space. Everyone’s experience is valid, and each perspective brings something real to the table. Different setups, different strokes. Glad we’ve got such a range of insights here.

This. We are looking at the 1st or 2nd week of August before we get our hands on it at this rate. Zero communication at all and a canned response from customer service.

I'm annoyed by the delays and lack of communication and seeing QC/Design that I unfortunately expected from Airvape. But, it was a $100 AVLP and I'm an insanely curious girl so I'm still in and trying to be patient refreshing my inbox every day. I'm 2/4 for devices this year that I expected to be trash but were actually totally kinda awesome, so here's hoping for 3/5.

For those of us really upset at the delays.... It's a $100 AVLP. If it were a less in place company I'd want to get my money back asap, but they are established.

I even have 1/2 inch basket screens on hand for it now >_<

i have had the steampunk avlp v1 for a long time.. and plenty of the other higher end vapes mentioned.. plus the rare ones. it's a good beater vape for me and for that 99 price was a no brainer and worth having a second one around. it's good for being out and share with others and not care much about it if someone breaks it. not sweating the shipping delay - shows up whenever it shows up and know what it's going to be like already and maybe i get a surprise that it's a little better? . but can understand people want their purchase NOW, it's frustrating but it will show up eventually.

if it's one of your first VAS's you will probably like it. it's better then say a lobo or x v3 or any pax/DaVinci etc. more like what a firefly v3 might have been if they didn't go under.

in regards to the v1 - i did try the on-demand for a handful of bowls.. didn't like it enough to keep using in this mode but it works. you need to use a higher starting temp if doing on-demand then session if your want ample vapor from the first hit. it's a heat builder vape so i just set it to around 365f session and then doing rapid 8-10 second back to back hits. results are as if it was set to a much higher temp 2 hits in (not as accurate as say a venty). 4 or 5 hits +/- and it's kinda done.. once flavor turns I'm finished in a session style.. or you can start lower and sip many hits - your choice. it's a decent mid range vape.

I'm actually kinda jealous of your position. Not only will you be trying the updated version of a vape that I think is a winner in its price range, you'll be getting it for a steal!

I hope you like it too. I love to load it with a full cap, set it to 350F with 30sec heat soak and just have a lazy 5 min session with it. It's a great sipper with loads of taste. I find I don't even need to temp-step in session mode because the bowl just naturally extracts fully over time. Preserves the flavor over many draws.

The biggest drawback of the V1 was it was difficult to clean. Looks like they've addressed this and other small annoyances 🤞

so in my 24 hours of use so far im really liking the v2. I have tried dosing caps and bowl packs and both work great in the new version. The airflow is more open on the v2 than my v1 with all the screen out. Color display looks great imo. Also, spiked/ball glass stems will fit the v2, but v1 mouth piece will not fit the v2. Not a huge fan on the tiny ceramic mouthpiece, but it is comfortable to use with the silicone cover. Also, the v1 silicone wpa fits the ceramic v2 mouthpiece, but I don't think it's 100% seal. I will be messing around more with the on demand mode tonight, but with straight bowl packs I've got a very even consistent cook of the herbs with no stirring, in the 3 minute timer. It basically starts producing clouds when it buzzes. With caps the first hit is almost just to pull the heat into the capsule, definitely a Terpy hit. The airflow stock is as about as open as my tempest v2. Comparing to my buddy's solo 3, I think these two are very close, with avlp2 maybe producing slightly Milkier hits and way less restriction. The battery life has also seemd pretty impressive so far. I like the feel of the cork cover, but also have some bubbles, and can see some of the glue on the edges. Overall im happy with my purchase, especially at the pre sale price, and I think it's definitely an upgrade to the v1, with none of the screen hacks needed.

...I inquired about the tiny numbers above on the dial here on FC...so, I figured it out...I think. It is the amount of time left on the battery life...

I am really loving this new version...I have limited mobility in my hands, and I can clean this unit much easier. The vapor performance is truly excellent...a redesigned vapor path and a new screen (I almost lost it 5 times) really did the trick. Step up. The little screen is on there with a magnet but, it is very delicate.

What is not up to par is the cloth cover...damn its ugly. Sorry. I really do not like it. Especially with the bubbles...

This sounds a lot closer to my experience with the V1, than what Toivarita is reporting. Comparing the AVLP to the Xmax V3 pro or Lobo? Are you kidding me, it punches way above that class
