gotcha. what kind of coil/wick are you running? if you use something that absorbs the heated oil there should be little to no splashing. at least in my experience. the only oil that hits the deck on my rdas is residual buildup from the cloud inside there. nothing splatters or drips off. just curious.
heh, at this exact moment? nothing very errl specific. 3x hand twisted 30 gauge kanthal with three wraps positioned directly above the airhole, forget the diameter of the wraps but 3 of them, for right about 1 ohm. filled with ko gen doh. the only reason it has errl in it is because i'm gonna clean it in a moment and build something else, i build often to acquire skill in the art and because i'm bored.
i've yet to build an oil oriented setup on my vapes because neither of my current rba (kraken, magma) are well suited for it, but with a low resitance/high wattage setup the results are satisfactory enough that i'm willing to spend the 5-50$ to get an rba solely for the purpose of building oil coils.
helluva lot cheaper to lose or drop than my sr71/iris to boot.
i agree one of the more absorbent coils meant for wickless vaping is probably going to be a lot less messy.
zipper coils maybe? claptons i suppose would work well but i don't own a drill atm. has to be something i can do by hand. mundy's magic coil? mundy made all the originals by hand.
probably dual or quad coil for maximum suface coverage of the deck with minimal resistance. as low to the deck as possible. preferably a pretty shallow pan so the melty errl has nowhere to really run.
not really sure about airflow for errl.....haven't been able to play much with that, but for nic juice i usually have it wide open.
almost everything i look at has some flaw for errl. post holes too high, well too deep, airflow in a place that will get clogged by runoff, etc. the immortalizer i'm looking at has airholes i believe will badly need drilling if nothing else.
i'm fairly tempted by that igo w-15 i came across in your sig thread.....
