Advanced E-cig users and oil/wax, how-to "one-hitter-quitter"

I just bought a new coil ($3) for Exotica vape and it is better than new. I am not sure what you guys are doing. I try to follow along but I can't see the difference in building vs buying. Anyone want to point to a mod for sale that they recommend?

The DBC is awesome but even on mechanical mods I find it to be really slow to heat up, and the flavor to be a bit lacking.
My favorite build so far has been taking .5 ribbon kanthal , OR .4 and 32g tiger twisted, and wrapping around a 3/64" drill bit to around 1.7-2 ohms.

Insert 2mm RXW or Ekowool then slightly squish the coil almost flat with pliers across the length of the coil taking care to keep all the coils as parallel as possible still (a bit tricky).

If done right it'll pretty much make a wire paddle from almost the posts to almost the rim, then get it as close to the deck as possible.

Another way to make a flat paddle would be 2 1/16" bits side by side the n carefully sliding in wick then gently squishing the coil a bit more, but I think the first method is easier with tiger twisted wire.
I use one air hole on the opposite side from the coil so as not to blow stuff off it.

I use a DNA 30 and have amazing results with this setup at only 13 watts (5 volts) in 2-3 seconds of power at most. Nail strength at 15 and at 30 watts (7.74 Volts) friggin ridculous , all with very minimal reclaim, and am just wondering if ya'll mechanical guys could try or have tried this build and tell me what ya think.
I'm currently building a dual coil version of it, both coils on the same side sharing a wick, with .4 and 34g tiger twisted, still at 1.8 ohms. This should provide half of the entire deck for goodies!

if your dbc is too slow to heat for your liking then build it with thicker wire. i built one over the weekend with 22ga wire. came out at .5 ohms and fires HELLA QUICK! maybe two seconds and its bright red hot. far to fast/hot for my liking, but a DBC can be built for any resistance.

Also a DBC is mostly wick which has to all heat up before real vapor starts since the heat source is within the wick instead of around it on the surface. IT does make a more even heating surface though so I
m still messing with different versions of the DBC.
I want instant cloud, hence a regulated mod with an external wire build especially since most of us are loading less than .1 at a time anyway.
I love the DBC but to really get it workin' good battery life suffers and I always taste the wick before the oil. With th epaddle it's flavor first then when it's almost done, wick. I'll post a pic later

Would you be able to take some pictures of this setup?

Also, Ive never used ribbon kanthal, although I know how to twist kanthal could you explain how you are twisting the two together/what it looks like.

I do like the idea of a flat surface, as two coils next to each other has been my favorite so far. That way the dab doesnt just run down the side of the coil to the bottom. I think that flat surface would take care of this a lot for me. Plus more circumference area closer to the deck. All in all sounds like an awesome idea and I will be buying some ribbon kanthal to test this out myself.

i dont know man. my 1ohm DBCs produce good vapor in about 2 seconds. i do not find that very long to wait IMO. they perform (time to vapor wise) the same as any traditional coil i have ever tried (BHOLT or Dabbler style coil). and my 18650s are lasting more than two days w/out charging. id say thats pretty damn good battery life.

i have a new coil im working on also. it uses rigid porous ceramic as the wick. it can be rebuilt and should last years with care taken. waiting on some custom parts.

If you are running 0.8Ω at 6V that is 45W (not 30W) with 7.5 amps(A). Your atty isn't the issue, it is your battery you need to worry about. If it is a regulated device you won't have anything to worry about. If you go below the ohm limit or exceed the amp limit the device won't fire or will restrict the amps. If it is unregulated your battery needs to be able to discharge 7.5A, which is pretty low considering people using e-cigs push 30A or even higher. What kind of battery or device are you using? (I tried to googling the TV evolution tube and nothing related to mods came up)

The Thermovape evolution tube standard voltage is the same than the T1, so it works with 2xrcr123a(3V), I don't get a lot of experience but I think it works as a mech mod...but I don't know if it's regulated or not....

I'm having a tough time finding the discharge ability of those batteries. They are 18350 so I would recommend getting efest 18350 700mah (10.5A) to be safe. Most likely your current battery will be ok, but personally I would rather trust a name brand battery.

im not familiar with the mow tanks. i have stopped using tanks for dabbing altogether. i use an aerotank mini for ejmix and coil it myself with RXW.

all dabbing is done in an RDA. still working on different coils all the time. been playing with some rigid ceramic and wickless coil ideas as well.

The thick liquid oil + pg/peg to thin is basically ej mix, well that's what I meant...for a tank...I've just had bad luck with the aerotank personally. Hey I love the setup you have under this post...what is rxw? Sorry! I use the metal cups from the seego vhit series, the seego vhit type B, it has dual coils and works nicely for me...but I've been looking at the cannon or something with a bigger cup that I could rebuild--like this... What kind of cup is it? I mean I can see its ceramic, and I should read back through--i will- does it have a cap?
I replaced the glass tube on my setup with an "unbreakable tube" that I found on eBay...its a good setup, soars above the atmos-like crap, but it is smaller, couple hits at a time, kind of have to feed the coils sometimes...I'm open to a new setup...

im loving this one. RXW 4mm wick (2 pieces of 2mm) 28g kanthal clocked at 1.76ohm and in a kiss globe atty.

hits like a champ and the rxw is a sponge to any oil in the cup. just keeps hitting and hitting.... and hitting...

ive been trying out a smoktech magneto my buddy lent me and I actually like my ecom c variable wattage better at 10.

some love mods... but I think I just like a good regulated battery.

Excited to see both of these. What shape is the porous ceramic? It's the paddle-ish shape of the DBC that got me interested.

the porous ceramic may be offered in different shapes. still working things out. either way it will hold more than a single dab. not a lot more, but more.
