710 coils

It's from flower rosin.
Ah, yes....I'm dabbing my squished rosin in the Liger with the Obsidian because....well, rosin is dirty (but beautifully full spectrum or close) and the Obsidian is the most resistant to crud and easiest to clean.

I run live resins and the like through my 710 opaque 25 mm banger....I do very much love Shane's products and his CS.

Although I have found the quartz banger to be a breeze to maintain, I can't say the same for the quartz pearls! Are you all just soaking them in ISO or SG? Don't think there is a really a way to torch them clean?

Do any of you prefer to NOT use the pearls? I'm back and forth, but think I prefer the minimalistic approach of not using them. Perhaps they work better for globs than the pinhead micro dabs that I do?

I prefer the pearls as they allow me to lower the temp and still get max vaporation going on. I just roll then around the banger a couple times with the q-tip while cleaning the rest of the banger. Within a couple of days the pearls do seem to get dirty enough that you have to clean them.

Typically I just turn the axial coil up to 820F and leave it be. When I come back the bottom half of the banger and the pearls all look brand new. Only the top half of the banger will have any stains which can easily and quickly be torched off, even while attached to the coil.

For a quick clean of just the pearls. I often remove them with a pair of SS tweezers and then heat them indovidually in the jaws of the tweezers until they glow red. They will be spotless at this point. Just make sure you set them down on something that can withstand their heat, such as glass or metal.

For those using the Quartz inserts what would be a good starting temp on an enail? I have my dnail set at 500f which gives me the vapour volume and desinty but with great flavour.

I'd guess it would be higher number as your effectively heating thru two layers or Quartz over one thin layer of sapphire when using the flat coil next to the dish.

no pearls for me this time, not sure they would even be viable in an insert? Maybe they would, unsure?

That's amazing, for how long? I have never had my coil over 575 so I was just a bit apprehensive about stressing the coil for no reason, but that seems like an even easier way to clean than the torch (other than the top 1/2, which doesn't even get dirty on mine).

It will be totally fine. My old hexnail would spike my coil to max and I had a few times where it was at that glowing orange temp for 12+ hours. I use same coil today.

Are people that are heat cleaning not worried about devitrification on your banger? Isn't the banger eventually going to get cloudy and chazzed from the heat cleaning?

That was the reason I always avoided heat cleaning, was for longevity of the quartz.

Do ruby and sapphire suffer from devitrification like quartz?

That's what I wonder about, I always get devitrification from torch cleaning.

Nope, that's one of its selling points.

Ive yet to see it happen, Id also cite the long standing example of quartz smooth top stoves, on high, the burners get >1000 degrees and I can't say I've ever seen a devitrified burner. Torches get much, much hotter, like around 3x IIRC.

Even if it does though....eventually....at <$50 a banger instead of ~$200, I wouldn't say its a big worry.

Just a dude
Mine won’t be in till later next week
Soooo worth the wait for the best looking VRod coils on the market. I grabbed pretty much everything VRod that NV sells on BF except for the coil.

I honestly never considered anything but the 710coils model. I just hope that this incoming batch will be up to Shane’s specifications and standards. I’m a visual creature and the solid colour choices of the Kevlar sheathing on 710coils kick 9 kinds of ass. Often it’s the little things that make the difference to me. Shane’s coils look like a consumer product, rather than an industrial coil that’s been repurposed. IMO. :peace:

Exactly my rationale, as well as the fact that I have never personally seen this phenomenon myself. How long does it take?

Is it possible that this just happens on "certain" types of quartz bangers? Maybe cheap ass ones? I've used my cheap china banger more than i'd like to admit, and torched the fuck out of it with both butane and propane torches, I just never go as long as to get it glowing red hot, just enough to get it clean. No issues.

I think this is probably correct I have one I only really torch and it has gotten pretty cloudy. Im almost certain I havent touched it but i may have so could be why as well. For the ones I mainly use with a coil Im not worried they have come clean with no marks every time.. May end up getting cloudy eventually but Im more than happy to support Shane and buy another. already pretty tempted with these new axial coils and bangers! Although if you torch at proper temp and make sure you keep your stuff clean I wouldnt really worry my bangers have gotten very dirty and i have done some very hot dabs and that seems to be whats caused more cloudiness

One thing I had not called out yet that I felt was important!!!!!

I am teaming with @maxvapor710 to help fill the coil and banger side of things for them and their new super sick controllers. So my axial coils and bangers will be perfectly tuned for their controllers and will be a perfect pairing. Expect more to come from this and I am very excited to see what the future holds =)

Now back to banger talk.....

I have been pleasantly surprised on how well my bangers have been performing when used with a torch instead of a coil. So far they have been holding up much better than I ever could of hoped for. I do have a handful of customers that prefer the torch clean method and have yet to report back and milkiness to the quartz.

I think the bangers and axial coils have been game changers for several due to the quality and price point. You just cannot beat it =)

More coils and bangers are due this week and I have restocked more of the clear caps in 25 and 30mm

Hope everyone is having a great start to the week
