Sounds like Yll has a version that’s supposed to be fixed and is ready to ship? @chillAtGVC and @seedy53 have replacements inbound, and I believe @seedy53 posted a teardown video of the new version recently, but not seeing it in the thread (might’ve gotten caught up in the bickering yesterday?).
It wasn’t closed at the discretion of Mike, it was closed because people were starting fights (the “…and not a little nastiness” bit of Pak’s message). The mods reached out to Mike for comment but then Mike never followed up.
The last post in the fibreglass thread is as much as I’ve heard. Sounds like Mike had reached out to the mods about posting a statement, but never actually came back to post
We do something similar, but with Trader Joe’s ginger beer (glass) bottles. They work great for syrups and storing home brewed alcohol!
I’ve been replacing my current plastic bottles with insulated steel ones as the plastic ones wear out. They’re a little heavy but having fridge cold water...
They shut down in December last year, there was a thread about it that I can’t find at the moment. I believe the server and/or domain was up for renewal and the owner decided to shut down the site rather than renew.
Depends on the binder I think? I have a prototype erlenmeyer flask with a layer of cork that was intended to be used as a heat shield (never sold or used since the cork is terrible for sanitation). It was at least 5 years old when I got it, and I’ve had it in my personal collection for at least...
Oof that’s steep. Looks nice though! The solid quartz seems like an interesting take on a ball vape, would be tempted to try it if I had space for one.
Edit: oh, looks like $800 is the full price, drops to $556 in the cart with the preorder discount. Still a bit steep, but not as bad
Probably true for at least some folks. Most of the stories I remember from this forum were folks who got used to using the device by muscle memory, but then got distracted and picked it up the wrong way round, or folks who handed it to a friend without telling them to toke the end with a hole in...
Not sure how much that’d help, burns like that usually happen if you aren’t paying attention or aren’t processing visual information. More colour would be welcome though!
With my almost burn it was with my purple tempest where the mouthpiece was purple and the hot end was bright silver. We only...
Fair enough! Yeah, I’ve never done that personally, but I’ve definitely nearly done it to my spouse when I handed them my tempest upside down the first time we used it. It’s not much of a risk for me now that I’m used to them, but definitely good to know about yourself!
Seconding dynavaps (and similar devices), they aren’t my favourites but they’re basically indestructible and are great for when I want something closer to a joint. Only real downsides are that they don’t taste the best, and the titanium tips tend to require a few heating cycles to finish a bowl...
Is the battery still holding up well? How harsh is the vapour? So far I have only really tried the Proxy for concentrates and it’s a little rough without water for me.
Oh that’s not great, at least they replaced it! Good to know, will have to see if any of the headshops nearby have it in stock.
How does the Cricket hold up nowadays? Been thinking of picking one up if I can find a 420 sale this year, would be nice to have a more configurable pocket rig.
If you’re looking for a MFLB equivalent, would recommend taking a look at the Nomad, Toad or Milaana, those are fully manual and more analogous to the MFLB.
Really the only things the FWX and MFLB have in common are the wooden juice box aesthetic and herb chamber window. However the Firewoods...
I’ve actually found green or red to work best with the stock pipe, red or white for the bub with my current concentrate. Think the extra heat helps break down the terps a little?
How’s the Plus? Been thinking of getting a smaller device for when I don’t have room for the Proxy, but can’t tell...
Was cleaning out my vape drawer and decided to give my proxy another go. Picked up a cheap bub, a joystick cap and some (presumably) good quality budder to see if I could get it to work for me, and it’s become my daily driver! Think I see what y’all enjoy about concentrates now, the little bit...
It’s been surreal seeing news sources today cite the lecture scene on Hawley-Smoot (the tariff bill that worsened the Great Depression) from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off when talking about these new tariffs.
Video:
Correct, all the most recent Firewoods only turn the heater on when the button is pressed, and it turns off when the button is released.
From my memory part of the concern in that discussion was that there wasn’t a way to disable the button without removing the battery. Several folks mentioned...
Could even pick our closest living relatives, chimpanzees and bonobos, as examples.
Chimpanzees are more commonly known as our closest ancestors, and are particularly well known for being patriarchal and violent towards outsiders. Chimps typically behave like how I was taught humans behave...
