The Tempest by Mad Heaters & Phatpiggie

Did some spring cleaning this week. Came across some old dynavap tips and cap. Decided to have a few cycles for old times sake. I hadn't used a dynavap for a few years, even before Tempest released. Put the tip on a BB3 and used the same Sake bottle rig I use for the Tempest. Few things stand...

Does anyone have the lowdown on the wood handle in the first pic? Is it a commissioned piece? I couldn't find it on Ed's site.

Thanks for doing the legwork on this. Really helpful.

So you think 3mm Zirc is still a good choice for full bowl, sipping style? My concern was that 3mm would not have the heat capacity for this style, compared to the 2.5mm. I guess if you still have enough heat capacity to finish the bowl with 3mm, then the extra airflow is worth it alone.

For me the 16mm format is what originally drew me in. I don't think ball vapes are efficient with bowl sizes above 0.2g. I've had too many experiences of getting higher with less material vaped efficiently to ignore. Larger format ball vapes also dump a huge excess of heat into your lungs when...

Damn...you are the go to guy for ball variation questions then. I heard someone (might have been you) talking about how Boro beads disseminate and disperse the heat throughout the balls faster than Zirc. Do you think this would make 3mm Boro optimal for a half bowl one hitter set up? I'm...

I swear this thing is the most Swiss army knife vape ever made. The versatility is getting absurd. I'll grab some 3mm when Brenyo restocks and experiment. I can see myself having two heads in the future, with very different set ups - the optimal half bowl one hitter, and the full bowl stem sipper.

Are we of the general opinion that 3mm is better than 2.5mm? I noticed a few people have now tried both. Does 3mm confer a noticeable airflow boost?

I think it's improper installation of the screen. I didn't follow Brenyo's instructions when I received mine. I just screwed it in too tight and bent the edges. It affected the security of the screen going forward. Could be a point of improvement in the future maybe, if possible, as it is a...

I was the one who did it while de-bowling. I've since stopped scraping the head screen after a bowl. I just give it a little blow if any bits of avb is there.

I notice temp agility is mentioned for ZX. How it reacts relatively quickly to temp adjustments. I imagine this also gives it a relatively fast heat recovery speed after extracting a bowl? Relative to other ball vapes that is. If anyone can confirm this or give opinions it would be...

Looks pretty cool. I'm struggling thinking of why to do it. The Tempest head extracts the bowl effortlessly in a cycle. Not sure why I would want to strap a 300 ball housing to the Tempest bowl. The Chaos looks interesting in its own right though.

I swear the vape Sig on the Tempest stays clean even in high temps. Doesn't have that sort of conduction muddiness I used to associate with the Volcano Hybrid. I figured it's just a high temp pure convection hit, but even my Brick butane vapes don't have the same clean sig as the Tempest. I...

I really like Troy and his content. But my god he makes every vape look bad first use. He goes into everything blind, and just fumbles through it. Always choosing a temp much higher than recommended. The man combusts more than an actual smoker. It's entertaining, but a poor way to gauge a vapes...

Great stuff. Thanks. Most my vaping is done at high temps, these days with Tempest and Brick butane vapes. I like low temps sometimes, and would like something always on, with a decent sized bowl. TM2 is a great low temp option, but I don't want a battery device. I tend to use more herb when...

A wireless butane/induction ball vape from you would be popular I think. Something like the form of the Verdavap, but with the aforementioned efficiency and induction ability. If also in the 14mm format I would absolutely love that. Infact that sounds incredible.

@invertedisdead Any reason a 14mm ZX couldn't be made portable for a 16mm coil? Would it theoretically have enough mass/heat capacity to function? Would it still theoretically perform well at low temps in a wireless format?

In glad there is this talk of low temp ball vapes. I'm eyeing one for a future purchase for low temps. I've narrowed it down to Couchlog 14mm, ZX, Screwball. Any thoughts on which of these are the best low temp vape?. I figured Screwball would be good for low temps due to large shallow bowl...
