you are not going to go wrong with a SIC @brasszilla very easy to clean, very durable and it tastes great - I prefer the older 1.3 base to the slim line as they seem to have some manufacturing issues to work out with them still

if you have to burn the TI to the point that that it falls apart before the smell disappears then it is likely some bullshit TI and not machine oil I soaked mine overnight when it was new and burned it on 900 for an hour before I used it - it should not still have "excessive manufacturing oil"...

before I ever used it i soaked my slim series in iso overnight - if that didnt remove the "manufacturing oil" nothing will there is for sure some BS going on here and i doubt we will ever get to the bottom of it TBH

@KittensTasteYummy I thought I also quoted your post about the extensive cleaning you did - before I ever used my slim line I soaked it in iso and then torched the shit out of it and have done so several times since - still has a bad smell that stings my nose and as far as residue burning off...

@herbivore21 i havent torched my nail except to clean my SIC - I just got a brand new coil and the smell persisted - then I switched back to the v 1.3 nail and no smell at all

@KittensTasteYummy @fatty_tattoos sucks to hear that others are having the same shit smell issue with the slimline - but at the same time I at least feel vindicated I stopped using mine and went back to the 1.3 nail - no bad smell whatsoever i sent d-nail a long email re: all my issues...

@MileHighLife is there enough threads on that domeless nail to get a regular flat heater under it and still screw on the retainer? keeping in mind i do have that new coil coming from amazon...

@MileHighLife @herbivore21 my slimline is pretty new - at least 20 hours on it though by now - should be enough that the new ti smell has gone away - I never experienced the smell or taste with my v1.3 base as far as handling the nail and oils from my hands etc - I dunno about that one as...

@MileHighLife yes I am using the auberins flat coil - so looks like I need a new coil - be nice to have a backup I guess - I know the hyman one will work with my pid - is the high five the one where the guy will make it custom for you?
