When I got mine, I broke it down and soaked the whole thing in iso for like an hour, rinsed it with hot water, let it sit out unassembled (I didn’t disassemble the head though) to dry, then heated it up in the Wand while empty. Good enough for me and haven’t had any taste issues or anything.

I was signed up for general newsletter emails (not the “email when back in stock” emails) from Sneaky Pete and got the one stating the Tornado was in stock for the last batch, and was able to grab one. Definitely sign up for the emails there, too.

I’m loving this thing. I feel like the Tempest has it beat in the flavor category, but I think that’s it. I don’t see myself selling my Tempest like I have with other devices in the past, but the Tornado is my new daily device for sure.

Get a Reload Gen 2. It’s made my sessions so much more convenient. I bought it with a “this thing seems pretty cool” mindset, but after using it, I wish I had gotten one sooner.

There is no heat to escape through the cracks. The Wand doesn’t actually produce any heat at all. It heats up whatever metal you insert by messing with the magnetic field. If you turn it on and put something non-metallic in it, nothing happens. It only reacts to and heats metal.

Agreed. I do the same exact thing every time, and get the same exact results every time. I love the consistency of the Wand/Tempest combo. Draw speed is so important with something like the Tempest. It’s the first thing I ask about, when I see someone on Reddit who has one and keeps ending up...

Are all these changes mentioned, coming in the next batch this summer? Looking forward to it either way. I love my Tempest as is, so any improvements are icing on the cake!

Check the Mad Heater’s manual on their site to make sure the head is sitting at the proper depth in the Wand. As for discoloration, I feel it’s unavoidable no matter your heating method. My Tempest has never seen a flame, only the Wand, and it’s got some color. But it’s like an even bronze...

Current daily use setup. Loving it. It’s cheap glass from eBay (but surprisingly thick for the price), but I really wanted something with a carb so I don’t need to pull the WPA out to clear it.
