So my Crafty was indeed waiting for me when I got home. Unlike the Mighty where they put a new serial number on my box and sent it back without accessories, this was a brand new sealed Crafty with a serial in the 20,xxx range. Has the new housing, cooling unit does not leak. Firmware 2.07...

Good to know. I'm in Canuckistan so likely will be 2.07. It didn't arrive though, Canada Post still shows it 'out for delivery' since noon yesterday. ;) edit: just got delivery notice email, so it'll be waiting in the superbox. I'll post tonight with details on firmware, housing type, etc.

Stopped by my local head shop at lunch to see if they had any reducers so I could try a muzzmod with my leaky cooling unit. The only ones they had were rounded on the 18mm side so I'll keep looking, figured I want flush for a better seal? I guess the epoxy is outside the glass anyway so maybe...

True that can happen fish but I've been careful of that since seeing your post but still have had one of those ones break down.

@Dweez you can also buy replacement O ring kits from S&B at about $6 a piece. Wish they would offer a pack of just the O-rings that need to be replaced however.

Thanks Mark. Not surprised at their reply. I expect my crafty back tomorrow or Wednesday and will report on that CU. haven't taken apart my leaky ones to confirm the hole yet.

That's a great idea! Between repairs and wear and tear kits I have 3 airtight CU's for each my Mighty and Crafty. I'll turn their 1 leaky each into a muzz! :)

Pretty sure what I'm going to find when I take apart my "leaky" cooling units. :) Not sure if I'll bother getting replacement as in my case, the extra air flow is kinda nice and it doesn't affect performance. I could see how if both holes were open it would be too much extra flow though.

I see here the "leaky" CU can impact performance. In my case it didn't seem too but I could see how it could if the leak was big enough. I have a repaired crafty arriving in a couple days, will post back regarding its CU.

I'll do some checking to see if the air is getting in there on mine. I was thinking hologram as the resistance changed when I was pressing on it but it could have been the underside I was pressing on. Both work fine, the "leaky" one may even be nicer to pull on honestly.

Depends on your countries laws I think but I wouldn't expect a refund. They have been known to allow an upgrade to the Mighty which many think is a much more reliable daily use device.
